Newsstand - wip

[SalvoBrick]

Inspired by this newsstand I did a version for my city with spare bricks. I haven't added it yet, I'm open to suggestion: for example, should I replace the tan line with a green one? Should I do it in blue instead of green?

It's not bad; I think you need more stickers for magazines, and perhaps some newspapers. I have waterslide decals, but for things like this you can just use mail labels.

I think the coloring is a matter of preference, but I would prefer they matched.

While I think that it's cool to be inspired by other people's MOCs, looking around for photos of real things to prototype works better. You can always fall back to the techniques we pick up from other people's MOCs.

I don't want to make it sound like I'm dissing on your newsstand - I'd be happy to have it in my LEGO city/train layout, just trying to be helpful.

It looks good, although I'd try to use just one color grey (preferably the newer one, IMO), although I think the tan line works well. Great job with the flags on top though!

Edit: I guess that was a bit misleading. What I meant was: it might be good to use just new or old grey on the roof, I didn't mean more grey overall. Not that that's a bad idea, just wasn't what I was talking about (didn't occur to me!).

"Let's see. Sports magazine, People magazine, Map to the canyon of the Crescent Moon..." This is looking good so far. I like the color scheme it has right now but like the others above me mentioned you could try grey and see how that looks. I'm thinking of real life examples but whatever you think looks good is fine.

It looks great, but I think there should maybe be a bit more variety in colours for the magazine. Also, if you could, adding a sign saying "News" or similar would add more detail to this MOC.

This one is a lot better. The structure looks more like a building and has more flow and color contrast than the first version. It looks awesome and can't wait to se pictures of it in the city.

The new version looks great! It's hard to believe a few small changes can make such a difference, but they definitely did.

Finally, I've added the newsstand in its place: on the side of the post office, near the train station (like most newsstands in real life)

Looks fantastic where it is 'SalvoBrick'....I like the pay phone....reminds me of someone else's design. (piece of advice on the pay phone...a 1x1 light bluey tile to fill in that green gap will make it look better again)

Anyway it looks really realistic where you have put it.....what's next ?
