Little_russian_AFOL Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Thanks for pictures, GRogall. This sets are really cool (especially minifigs). 79111 is my favourite. hmmm... I quess 79108 more better as 79111. Minifigs in 79108 really nice. Quote
Darth Caedus Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 This theme simply does not have a single bad set. The Cavalry builder, teepee and stagecoach will probably all be purchases. If I had more spare dough, I might spring for the silver mine too. Quote
Good Cragger Fan Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) I thank you for these official set images, GRogall! My absolute favourite set is the 79106 Calvalry Builder Set model, as I can get cannons with reddish brown bases, which are also found in the ships of the Pirates of the Caribbean theme, and new white horses with saddles for a cheap price! I also like the 79107 Comanche Camp set, since I can get bow-and arrows and quivers -- which are not made in China like the ones in the Minifigures Series 1's Tribal Hunter and Forrestman but are exactly like the ones that are found in The Attack of the Mirkwood Spiders set of The Hobbit theme, which are made in either Europe or Mexico or both places, by LEGO-owned factories -- for a releatively cheap price (or al least cheaper in price than the Attack of the Mirkwood Spiders set -- though I can only get one regular bow-and-arrow and quiver instead of of two of them and might cost more than half of the cost of The Attack of the Mirkwood Spiders set, and it still is not as cheap in cost as the smallest regular, boxed 2011 Ninjago set with Cole, the Black Ninja in it). Cavannus Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Nice sets -- especially considering that they are license sets. I see a real effort to add details and make them realistic. However the stagecoach shows a nice design... but a HUGE scale issue!! The vehicle measures 2.5 times a person's (minifig's) height, which is way too high and too big. Quote
Konrad Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 great looking sets, looks like tlg really put some thought in Quote
Graysmith Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I prefer cloth teepees too (and so do most people) but it will be easier to mass produce plastic than cloth. One upside is over time the cloth wears and gets dirty but plastic won't. It'd also be pretty easy to make your own cloth teepee using the plastic version as a template. Of course, it wouldn't have any printing on it, but done right I'm sure it'd look pretty great still. Quote

That's a good idea, once I get the tepee set I'll replace the tepee with my two old ones and see how the old ones look with the new figs. Quote
Cinderbike Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I love the Stagecoach Escape - great looking set. The train set is a must buy, however - finally I'll have a water tower for my Emerald Night and other steam locos! Quote

captain gabe Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I have the old fort legoredo set and I love it. That being said, I will buy the cavalry builder set for sure. The train looks pretty promising too, I would love to add a train to my western collection. i could switch all the new colors to the default old ones to make it look more classic as well. The Captain J. Fuller minifigure also might be bringing in a new frontier (no pun intended) for legos, that being hair attached to heads. Did you notice he has hair coming out of his hat? I haven't seen that on any other fig before :D Quote

TheLegoDr Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) And also POTC figure in Queen Anne's Revenge. It is a great feature with these new molds though. A bit more realistic, otherwise they could start printing hair on the back of the minifig head I guess. But after all these years with the standard figure, I'm pretty used to not having it. But it is a nice bonus. Edit: And I guess technically in that same QAR set, Jack Sparrow's hat/hair combo is attached too. Edited March 13, 2013 by TheLegoDr Quote
Savage Oppress Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 (edited) cool, Lego released another Johnny Depp Minifigure with these sets. Edited March 15, 2013 by Savage Oppress Quote
Brinstar Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I have absolutly no interest in the film whatsoever. Having said that I simply cannot wait for these sets. For me they are some of the most exciting sets that Lego is producing this year. As someone who enjoyed the original Western theme, these are almost the natural sucessor. The Constitution Train Chase, Stagecoach Escape and Colby City Showdown are the standouts for me. I simply cannot wait for them to be released. Quote
obsidianheart Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Okay, I have a dumb question. I'm not a train guy, so I don't know much about the ins and outs of that section of the hobby, but my son is pretty into them. We're probably going to get him the Constitution Chase set fro his birthday, and my parents were asking me which type of track comes with it, in case they might want to pick him up some expansions. I didn't even know there were different types of track until they asked me that, so, uh... What kind of track is that? Quote
GRogall Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 What kind of track is that? Regular power function track same width as all other lego track compatible with all lego trains for the last 4 years! Quote
Ed3n Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Will the train set come with the motor as well? Also I can't wait to get my hands on the stage coach and the calvary builder. Finally I can start my horse collection. You can never get enough of animals lego. Quote
Hoschiebaer Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Regular power function track same width as all other lego track compatible with all lego trains for the last 4 years! i still have the midshool train tracks from this set: do they work well with the new ones (they won't vice versa i guess)? the new powerfunction-trains dont have to run electricity through a track-circle, do they? Will the train set come with the motor as well? Also I can't wait to get my hands on the stage coach and the calvary builder. Finally I can start my horse collection. You can never get enough of animals lego. i guess it depends on the price of the set. the horizon express dint come with powerfunctions and was priced around 100€ - on Shop@home they are offering a set WITH powerfunctions for 235...seeing the constitution train chase will be priced at $99.99 USD / $129.99 CAD (i guess 100€) it wont include power functions. price with powerfunctions would be ~ 200-240$ (if the set will be offered in a package with powerfunctions). i will cerently buy the stagecoach (manly for the minifigures) and pretty sure the cavalary aswell (stagecoach offers enough horses for whole bunch). Kez Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Yeah that review on brickset was great, he says he's going to be doing more reviews over the next few days. Quote

Looks great, although a officer instead of the Lone Ranger would have been highly prefered… Great review! I guess we'll start seeing these next week, which is the same time we started seeing the PotC and PoP sets... Since I have a bit extra money this month, I'll try to pick up the first four and maybe the Mine set! Thank the lord these are the only April set releases! Edited March 18, 2013 by just2good Quote
ChrisW Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Regular power function track same width as all other lego track compatible with all lego trains for the last 4 years! Another question from a non-train guy, although I think it might've been asked before. Will you be able to attach the Constitution Train set to the tracks in the Silver Mine set and have the train running through the middle like a tunnel, or are they different widths? Quote

Train through a mine!? Yes the track is the same but the train would not fit through the opening! Quote
