PsyKater Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Does it have anything else worth mentioning, like the IM3 and MoS sets? ? Acronyms Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 ? Acronyms Iron Man 3 & Man of Steel (Guess I could be wrong. I'm just guessing, but I don't see what else would fit them. ) ...The Cavalry Army Builder looks great. ... Would've liked some greenery (or at least dark tannery like in PoP's Desert Ambush )... ...Carriage is interesting. The female's hairpiece looks useless in any setting but Western, and even then it looks rather silly... I'll assume you're talking about actual plants, but I think the bottom of the log thing is dark tan. I would say the female hair piece does looks silly in that setting, but I don't see why it couldn't be used in a (same time period) fashionalble city? Quote
PsyKater Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Iron Man 3 & Man of Steel (Guess I could be wrong. I'm just guessing, but I don't see what else would fit them. ) Well then... There is only a small note announcing new Iron Man sets for May 2013. Only SuperHeroes sets are 76004,76005 and 76000,76001. Quote

Venkefedo Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Thanks for the pictures, these all look fantastic. I do now believe that the Lone Ranger's hat is a completely new mold, the brim is lower and smoother than the fedora mold. It's definitely a new mold, and even better: it's available in black, too, in a couple of the sets! Quote
Brickity Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I'm hoping there's at least one female indian.. just imagine, finally a dark skinned girl! Quote
Aanchir Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I'm hoping there's at least one female indian.. just imagine, finally a dark skinned girl! Agreed. Not sure whether Hollywood or TLG is to blame for the lack of dark-skinned female figs in licensed themes, but either way it's an omission that screams to be corrected. Quote
CMP Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Are you counting the indian in the Bandit Hideout or am I missing something obvious? While it's impossible to say with certainty without better pics, I presume the indian is male. Btw. only now I notice it's not using the CMF Tribal Hunter hair but a new, similar but more detailed mold. I'm mostly judging by the hair, yeah. I'll assume you're talking about actual plants, but I think the bottom of the log thing is dark tan. I would say the female hair piece does looks silly in that setting, but I don't see why it couldn't be used in a (same time period) fashionalble city? Yeah, I'm talking about the plants. It's a really nice set, I just now noticed the Union flag, I just kind of wish there was a little landscape. It could, it's the same setting, I'm just saying it's about the only setting that the hairpiece would work. Quote
Faefrost Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Agreed. Not sure whether Hollywood or TLG is to blame for the lack of dark-skinned female figs in licensed themes, but either way it's an omission that screams to be corrected. Zoe Saldana was in the first Potc as part of Jacks crew. So the option has been there. They have made more obscure characters. There were also a few chances in the Harry Potter sets that they missed. Angelina Johnson in a Quidditch set or the Patel sisters in any school sets. Quote
Walter Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 The sets look great. Although the new pistol mould looks kinda unusual when paired with the old rifle mould. I like both, but seeing them mixed looks odd. Quote
moschino Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) I found these pictures through the internet and I think many people would be curious to find out how Lone Ranger Sets will look like. 79107 79110 79106 79109 79111 79107 79108 79110 Their price in Europe will be as following: 79106 Cavalary €14,99 79107 Commanche Camp €29,99 79108 Stagecoach Escape €49.99 79109 Colby City Duel €59,99 79110 Danger in the Silver Mine €79,99 79111 Train Chase €99,99 Edited December 20, 2012 by moschino Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) No need for this thread. I already shared the pictures (a few days ago, actually) in the main thread. Sorry! -Sci Edited December 20, 2012 by CM4S Quote
Hey Joe Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) Well, I'm on the record in this thread as being anti-licensing BUT these are some pretty cool looking sets. Hope the movie isn't so violent so my son could watch it, I'm not holding my breath about that though. 'Prince of Persia' was WAY too violent for the age group Lego is marketing these sets towards, I'm starting to get a little upset at the entire industry in general and Lego in particular. Sorry to be such a grump but somebody has to point these things out. Edited December 20, 2012 by bjtpro Quote
moschino Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) Didn't notice, then a mod can delete it. After Edit: Your post is two/three pages back, at the middle of the page. Not many will read a thread of 10+ pages, post by post, so this thread is still useful until the one who created that thread will edit the first post and will add the pictures there. However, if any mod will still find this thread useless, it can be deleted with no problems, but I rarely check a thread in the middle of it by reading each post carefully. Andy D Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) The train is really very interesting, the engine and tender are nice. Need to find a wa y make some good looking passenger cars to go with it. The pictures were easy to find, I am glad this thread came along. Andy D Edited December 21, 2012 by Andy D Quote
gundamz Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) I think the Cavalry set looks pretty good for the cost. It's like one of those Star Wars battle packs. Edit: Funny thing though is that the Lone Ranger, not the Cavalrymen, have the horse. Edit: 100 posts! Edited December 21, 2012 by gundamz Quote
Bilbo Baggins Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 79108 looks really interesting, unfortunately it appears to be pretty expensive. Quote
moschino Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) I personally don't like the whole series, and I think the Western 1996 (if they can be compared) was much more complex by giving us a more indispensable universe of Cowboys. In my opinion, here are some completely useless sets such as 79109 Colby City Duel or 79110 Danger in the Silver Mine. I don't mind at all to pay €60 for 5 ordinary minifigs and 2 small cottages, as I don't mind to pay €80 for 5 minifigs and lots of ordinary bricks in tons of colors. I agree that the Cavalry is worth if you want to expand your number of soldiers, and the all other sets seems to be worth. What I do not understand is why they changed the tent structure. The old structure made in 1997 needed 15 pieces + cloth, but so far this seem to need much more bricks for the same purpose. I actually felt in love with the hair of woman in set 79108 Stagecoach Escape. I think that piece has the power to change the atmosphere of a Lego scene. Edited December 21, 2012 by moschino Quote
TheLegoDr Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I'm actually excited for the whole line. The sets look fantastic. I'll wait to see about official US prices, but I will also wait for sales so it won't be a big deal for me there. But I will get all of them for sure. The figures look great and I may actually build some of these sets for display. The only downside I see is multiples of two main characters instead of just multiples of one main character like IJ, HP, PoP, POTC. Quote
Faefrost Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 There are some really nice new hats and headpieces throughout this series. Very impressive. Quote

I don't care if you don't read the official discussion thread of a theme, but if you think you have new information about it you should still post it there rather than start a new thread. Otherwise we'll get a dozen different topics every time a new picture or price is found. Quote
Mahtion Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I like the cavalry set due to the new white horse mold which I need to make Rivendell Elf Riders to pose with the wargs. I believe we will get a Gandalf the White since the white horse mold is available now and Lego likes to reuse pieces across themes. My only gripe is why the lack of lord of the rings 2013 sets. If it is supposed to be released around the same time (March) as lone ranger why do we have to wait until February to get a glimpse of the second Wave sets? Quote

If it is supposed to be released around the same time (March) as lone ranger why do we have to wait until February to get a glimpse of the second Wave sets? My guess is that TLG wants to get the word out on these sets so consumers know they'll exist. LOTR has been established and probably doesn't need that initial push. Of course, it could just be marketing agreement differences between Disney and the LOTR people. Quote
Hive Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I'm not into western and don't care for licensed minifigs, but I stil think some of these sets are a lot better than I'd have expected. And pretty diverse. Quote
Haltiamieli Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I believe we will get a Gandalf the White since the white horse mold is available now and Lego likes to reuse pieces across themes. Though if they want to be really accurate, they should do Shadowfax (Gandalf's horse) without the bridle print. Unfortunately one can't really ride a Lego horse without a saddle. Quote
