I think it's fair to assume that all the native American minifigures are male, shifting the focus to the two immigrant American female characters. Also, the hairpiece on the Mine native American is a Comanche male hairstyle. The hair that hangs down over the shoulders is wrapped in Buffalo hide. Which is why the hanging bits are brown and the top of his head is grey/black. Female Comanche I think tended to just have braided hair. I may be quite wrong in this, but I do think the minifigure in question is definitely male.
January 2, 201312 yr I made a cleaner scan of the page. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/NavyTrooperFenson/stuff/legokatalog004.jpg

Along the same sort of modern Disney lines as Pirates of the Caribbean and Prince of Persia. The more classically remembered versions have been the live radio program, the live action TV show and one or two live action movies from the TV show. There was also a live action reboot movie in the 80's that went nowhere and at least one early 80's Saturday morning type cartoon.
January 2, 201312 yr Well, all the cash not spent on Monster Fighters in 2013 is going to Lone Ranger.
January 2, 201312 yr Thanks for the clearer scan. The torso prints look beautiful. Some very useful torsos for other ideas. I'm a little saddened that the stagecoach looks normal red instead of dark red. But I still love the design overall. And some of the hats have hair attached, which is good and bad. I can't wait. I will definitely pick every set up in this wave.
January 2, 201312 yr With the clearer pictures (thanks!), Colby City is looking better than ever (tan profile bricks! ), and I like the StageCoach design, though it doesn't seem to have that many useful pieces other than the three horses (which is pretty much the selling point for me), and I sure hope it's more around the $40 rather than $50 which strikes me as really expensive. The Mine has some great pieces for someone who uses tan as much as I do, but I don't like the overall design as much as the others (never did like tan and grey combos, whether it be on a castle or wherever). I'll probably be waiting for that to drop in price before I pick it up and if it doesn't, I just won't get it. The other three don't apeal to me so much, though the Calvery Builder is nice, but I'm not to into that era so I don't really want an army of blue-coated soldiers...
January 2, 201312 yr Who else believes that the Gatling gun actually turns like a real one, notice the crank handle ? Cool printing on the army uniforms and commander's hat too ! Twisting my arm Lego is seriously doing at the moment !

I'm thinking Modular Irish Pub! (Not he real kind. The tacky American Boston type ;) ) The more I look at the sets for next year, the more this theme really seems to stand out. The colors just pop without seeming to cartoony. The sets seem fairly complex and detailed. Here's hoping the movie is as good as the sets. Edited January 3, 201312 yr by Faefrost
January 3, 201312 yr I'm liking the crates in medium dark flesh / dark orange or whatever that colour is. Dark tan coach wheels look good. The Comanche headdress with horns is über cool. Boulder in tan. Reddish brown kayak/canoe. Nice stuff. I count 17 unique minifigs.
January 3, 201312 yr Thanks for the new scan, definitely going to be picking up some Cavalry sets to make a small army. Not super hyped about the movie, but the sets are nice.
January 3, 201312 yr Thanks for the scan, NTF! I really hope that I'm not the only one who sees some sort of red skirt coming out the side of that Red lady's legs... -Sci

The mould is probably ready, but they didn't release the new rifle due to the same reason why they didn't release the new horse in white version in LOTR series. Just another nasty way of getting money from users.
January 3, 201312 yr There are 800 new parts this year. According to a Brickset report. That's including new colours of existing parts but even so Lego are really pushing the boat out when it comes to new stuff. Which is impressive. It's all about cost. If we want prices of sets to remain reasonable then there's only so much new stuff that can be included. It's unlikely this theme will be ongoing so there must be a limit.
January 3, 201312 yr It's great that there's no flesh on the cavalry torso. Now I can just change their heads and hand to yellow and say they're elite officers compared to my old western cavalry.
January 3, 201312 yr Yes, when I saw the trailer I was instantly reminded of the cool dark blue POTC governor's torso and it was clear to me, that the new cavalry won't be straightly compatible with the old ones. Now the revolvers to rifles look like new horses and cows compared to the blocky old horse

This is what we're talking about: Edited January 4, 201312 yr by Weil
January 4, 201312 yr Looks more like long coat piece to me. Pretty nice actually, now the shirt to pant transition doens't look so abrupt.
January 4, 201312 yr It's the same skirt piece used on the ARC Clone Trooper from last years Clone Wars Battle Pack. It may be slightly modified to resemble more of a dress, but the design is generally the same. It's a cape for the legs, essentially.

From your perspective it doesn't make sense as it doesn't make sense from my perspective either. But it makes a lot of sense when you're trying to look from TLG's perspective. Let's suppose you're a fan of Western or simply a fan of Lone Ranger, and you would buy all these sets and collect the whole series. You're just fine with that, and that's all. Supposing you're not a fan of series like Adventurers, you won't buy Adventurers series because you're not a fan and you don't want the series. Now considering Lone Ranger includes the new pistol, but sticks to old rifle which looks awful among the new pistol (as you agreed), you might want to update your rifles too. And when in 2014-2018 they will include a new series like Adventurers with the new rifles, you will have in mind to buy some sets just for the rifles, even if you're not a fan of Adventurers and you wouldn't have bought them if they would have included the new rifles years ago since they released new pistols in Lone Ranger series. You will have in mind to do that because you never liked the new pistols among the old rifles, so again, with not much effort, TLG does another marketing hit between its users. If you dig between their shoots during the time, you'll notice lots of such movements in how they release their pieces by mould, by color, etc. Edited January 5, 201312 yr by moschino
January 5, 201312 yr Gosh how cynical. It must be torture even looking at Lego sets knowing how evil the company is.
