Flash Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 picture of the new train set on yahoo: http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/lego-sets-lone-ranger-man-steel-reveal-plot-133321782.html Looks like a lot of elements from Emerald Night, plus, is that curved track going to be included? not the stupid flex track... Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Wow! That is an absolute beauty of a set! The minifigures also look very nice up close and personal. Of course, the highlight is the wonderful train! I'm a sucker for LEGO trains, and this masterpiece is no exception! However, whilst I do like all the train track that comes with it, it is kind of impractical for me as I currently haven't got much shelf space for my LEGO, and I can tell that this would take up a hell of a lot of room. Also, when are these sets coming out in the UK? Quote
Hive Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I'm not into trains, nor westerns, nor licensed figures... but even so, I see this as a really impressive set with lots of value. Any kid should love this. Quote
pedro Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Really like the look of this. My only worry about this set was that it'd be somewhat kiddified but the engine and tender are very authentic looking with lots of detail. Love the colour scheme - as mentioned above very reminiscient of the Emerald Night. The carriages and water tower are nice enough additions and the minifig selection ain't half bad. I've not bought a LEGO train before now but I'll give this one some consideration. Quote
refriedbeans Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I've never had a Lego train but I'm getting this one! (Especially since it's a Disney set!) Quote
Kintobor Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 That's it, it's official, I'm picking this one up. The train looks gorgeus, the minifigs lovelt, and it even comes with track! (that I can't use since I'm running 9V, but whatever) Quote
Commander Turtle Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) Oh, wow. I am not a trains person, far too expensive as a hobby, but... this set even has a new horse in white! Edit: Can anyone tell how the door on the rear carriage is made? Is that a new piece? Edited February 8, 2013 by helloearthling Quote
Graysmith Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Such a lovely set. I do like trains, but I've never owned a LEGO train since they're usually pricey. Might have to get this one though, trains of this era are my absolute favourite. Quote
eurotrash Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Edit: Can anyone tell how the door on the rear carriage is made? Is that a new piece? Looks like http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/4511 Quote

Edit: Can anyone tell how the door on the rear carriage is made? Is that a new piece? That's an old piece now.....naturally mostly used just with train sets.....don't think they have been used for anything else but sliding doors on train wagons. Quote
Nightshroud99 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 So it comes with train tracks, wow that's pretty great. Quote
Ralph Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Well all that track is a nice plus, though I still don't think I'll end up getting it... I was actually surprised there was track apparently included with the set. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 With track, I'm tempted to pick it up myself. I've wanted to get a train and this one is a nice style but doesn't look as flimsy as the Toy Story one was. Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I am not a fan of The Lone Ranger, but I love me a Lego train (Emerald Night is still a favourite of mine ). This is definatly my favourite of the line. Quote
Phoxtane Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I wonder if two of these sets would supply enough of the dark green and train bits to build an Emerald Night locomotive, albeit without the special stickers... Quote

Walter Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 They seem surprisingly generous with that track! Looks like it could be a nice set. Quote
Anticyclone Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Oooh! That is nice! That water tower looks really funny though, it's lost weight! Quote
Capt. Redblade Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Never been a train person, but the Western-ness overrides that tenfold. Want! Quote
Esurient Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Hurray! Another train set! Western is back! Quote
LegoBenzine Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I really do like the Machine Gun on the train. Does anybody happen to know if it is possible to download the building instructions yet? Quote
Ridge Montante Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I'm really, really thinking about getting this set. Its just a matter of where to put it. Its great to know that the Stagecoach will be $29.99 USD. No question about getting that set. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 ....And here I was thinking that I would skip this theme. Ha! This set looks absolutely incredible! This, along with confirmation that the Stagecoach set will be $30 is just icing on the cake. Quote
KristofBD Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Veeery nice set. Like many others I am no train fan, but this set is just simply beautiful! Quote
