Walter Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I can't wait to see the other sets! And it appears I'm one of the few that liked POTC. Hey, I loved POTC! It was a cool theme in my opinion. And that stagecoach for $30. Woah! I'll take two! Quote
just2good Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Great image by FBTB that shows how the hat works. Edited February 10, 2013 by just2good Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I was surprised at the prices for these. They are so cheap! $30 for the stagecoach? $50 for Colby City? $70 for the mine? I noticed this also with the LOTR sets. Licensed sets are getting cheaper! ( except as normal, SW gets even more pricey.) Quote
just2good Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I nominate the Silver Mine set for the best set $70 or above for 2013. Quote
TheAshTree Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) Is the hair made of rubber by any chance? I would love it if it is made of ABS. Edited February 11, 2013 by TheAshTree Quote
Faefrost Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I hate that the lone ranger is in the calvary set because it means if you buy multiples to build an army you will end up with multiples of him. Since he is in practically every set, lego could of left him out of this one. At least what the Ranger wears is technically a uniform. He is the last survivor of a wiped out company of Rangers. (At least classically). So with a bit of head swapping and a few different colored horses you can easily creat a full Ranger company. Quote
Ridge Montante Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this yet, but the mine set can be connected to the train set, and it looks like the train can go through it. After seeing some better pictures of the mine it doesn't look like the tracks are the same and won't match up. Which is too bad, that would have been really awesome. Quote
Brickity Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) Great image by FBTB that shows how the hat works. Ah! that was quite unexpected! Superb! Edited February 11, 2013 by Otherworld Quote
Haltiamieli Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Dunno if you hda confirmation on this already, but Tonto(?)s bird is detachable. In the pictures of the train set you can see its put on all crooked. Very true, very sweet! (http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/) Quote
cortman Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Looks cool. I'd be glad just to see Western sets again. Quote
James Mathis Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Lone Ranger Train Question: What does the lever on the roof of the box car do? Is it some kind of "action" feature? The water tower looks like it has an "action" feature to "blow it up" with dynamite(?) and tip it over. Pretty cool. Stage Coach question: it looks like there is a brown Technic element with a bar under flexure to the rear axle. Is this true? Is it some kind of "action" feature? If there are action features like this, I wonder if there is an action feature on the locomotive-- perhaps some lever and "dynamite" that blows the boiler off the main carriage of the locomotive frame? or dislodges the locomotive cab? Nice train! Wondering... -James Mathis Quote

Pretty cool.If there are action features like this, I wonder if there is an action feature on the locomotive-- perhaps some lever and "dynamite" that blows the boiler off the main carriage of the locomotive frame? or dislodges the locomotive cab? There's a Yahoo! Movies article with the description of the train set. The chase is on to save Rebecca and Danny from Butch Cavendish and his gang of henchmen onboard the speeding train, Constitution! Help Tonto to place the dynamite and blow up the water tower to stop the speeding train in its tracks! Ride to the rescue with the Lone Ranger alongside on his trusty horse, Silver. Jump aboard the highly detailed locomotive with 3 cars and dodge the gatling gun! Uncover the secret coal wagon hideout, blow the prison wagon door with the dynamite and escape to safety with Rebecca and Danny! Based on the Technic beam used and the new pictures, it probably "blows" a panel off the back of the prison wagon. I don't think there's any "action" feature on the locomotive itself. Stage Coach question: it looks like there is a brown Technic element with a bar under flexure to the rear axle. Is this true? Is it some kind of "action" feature? The brown Technic element looks to be element 32294: Lt Suspension and it appears to be a brace to hold the rear wheels of the stagecoach in place. Unfortunately I don't own this element so I can't say if it has any sort of flex to provide a measure of suspension for the stagecoach. Cheers from Claremore, Oklahoma USA! Dave Quote
Bricknblue Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 This is theme of the year. Great USA prices, designs, minifigures, value. A true winner. Quote
Beemer323 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I dont do Western but I'll defo be onto this set! Glad I only need 1 unlike Horizon Express... Thanks for the post! Quote
Purpearljellyblob Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Great to see the new sets and minifigures. Loved the new parts and the calvary set  Quote
Kai NRG Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 The stagecoach and Colby City Shootout look great, and so does the Silver Mine... Really great that the stagecoach is just $30, I think I'll certainly be able to get it at that price! Also nice that the crow is detachable! Can't wait to get a couple! (One good thing about having Tonto in almost every set...) Quote
LEGO.Inc Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Hope to see quality pictures of the mine soon. That train is marvelous. Like the Queen Anne's Revenge a true must have. The LEGO minifigs are great too. Especially Tonto. Quote
jonwil Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 After seeing some better pictures of the mine it doesn't look like the tracks are the same and won't match up. Which is too bad, that would have been really awesome. Look at some FBTB pictures such as this one it looks like the tracks are PF straight tracks with old 4.5v tracks placed in the middle. Quote
CircleK Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 This entire theme looks suburb. I pretty much love all the sets with the exception of the Comanche Camp and will def. be getting at least the Stage Coach and Calvary. I'm not much of a western fan (even less of a Johnny Depp fan) and have very little interest in the Lone Ranger film - I'll catch it on Red Box for $1.00. So, the fact that I'm salivating over these sets is a testament to how great of a job TLG did with this theme. They knocked this one out of the park. Quote
Nagyzee Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) Why is everyone calling the Cavalry set Calvary? Some automatic spell check thing maybe? Edited February 11, 2013 by Nagyzee Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Why is everyone calling the Cavalry set Calvary? Some automatic spell check thing maybe? They are fairly common mixed-up words. Even though one refers to mounted infantry and the other to a fairly famous hill in the holy land, they look and sound very similar. But that's enough about that. Set talk, please. Quote
Kez Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 In the back of the mine set, is that brown slide/flume piece new?? Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Looks like a recolored pool slide from the Friends set. Quote
Sandy Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 The minifigures (especially Red and Tonto) are to die for. Luckily I can just buy them, sparing my life. Quote
