Faefrost Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Faefrost is likely referring to the fact that Red Harrington's little hat comes off (in a similar way to the friends stuff). Yep. And if you look at the Cargo Center set over in City you will see a similar mechanism in place for putting ear pieces on attached to the brimmed cap. Also Tonto's bird comes off in the same way. kinggregus Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I have to admit that I have not been as excited for a line in a long time. There is not a single set of that theme that I do not want to get. Most of all, I am quite happy that they incorporated a train in a licensed line (I know Toys Story had one but, the theme did not appeal me very much). I think however that it would be wise to buy them in the US due to the HUGE price difference between Europe and there. Luckily, I have a trip planned there for June . On a minus note, I am quite disappointed to see that they kept the Western Modular Cuusoo project on hold as it would have perfectly completed the theme. Quote
hjmediastudios Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I'm not really getting why it's called the Cavalry builder set... it's got one guy on a horse, and he isn't a soldier. The three actual soldiers seem to be two grunts and an artilleryman. Quote
Bobsy Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I'm not really getting why it's called the Cavalry builder set... it's got one guy on a horse, and he isn't a soldier. The three actual soldiers seem to be two grunts and an artilleryman. It's just the colloquialisation of the name 'cavalry' from years of westerns when the cavalry would ride in at the end. The word became more associated with the blue uniforms than the horse. Oddly enough outside the 'wild west' setting no-one would make the same error - anyone with a passing knowledge of American history would just call them Union soldiers. It's a silly thing to call them 'cavalry' but I don't think I'm going to get worked up over it. It's just a toy after all. Quote
kabel Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 As much as I would love to buy some of these sets (you can always substitute flesh with yellow) I'm absolutely pissed off about the fact that us Europeans pay almost twice as much. What have we done to you TLG that you wish to punish us so bad? Quote
KristofBD Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 The stagecoach set is too expensive (or too cheap in the US ;), but all the others are not that surprising: they are in line with normal European licensed set prices. Quote
The_Creator Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Getting excited as the release date gets nearer! One thing though, I do hope a Cavalry solider polybag gets made for an easy wayto army build. Quote
Captain Settle Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 When is it released? I'm definitely buying all the sets in this theme, especially since most of the figs have no flesh on there torsos so I can swap them for yellows and put them in ol' Legoredo. A cavalry polybag could be a possibility, but I'm sure certain one of the polybags will be either Tonto or the Lone Ranger. Quote
The_Creator Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 A cavalry polybag could be a possibility, but I'm sure certain one of the polybags will be either Tonto or the Lone Ranger. There are currently two known LR polybags. One is a Tonto one and one has the Lone Ranger. Quote

Weil Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Pictures and links were posted on page 15 of this thread. Here they are: http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/30261-1.jpg http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/30260-1.jpg Quote
Captain Settle Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Whoa, I like the idea for the Lone Ranger polybag. As for Tonto, I could turn him into a generic Indian and his crow could come in useful. I'll pick up a few of each. Quote

Kai NRG Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Thanks, GRogall! Those sets are looking better and better! Quote
Pastajensen Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I have to work more overtime this year (too). The Lone Ranger set´s are really good looking. I just don't know where I would place the sets. Quote
BaraSH Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Thanks for pictures, GRogall. This sets are really cool (especially minifigs). 79111 is my favourite. Quote
Algernon Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 LOVING the Stagecoach. These sets really have that Wild-West appeal. I'm liking them immensely. Quote
SteampunkDoc Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) And the glorious GRogall strikes again! Looking at the sets and prices, I'll probably end up getting just the Cavalry Builder. Which having a horse, four great and reusable figures, and a cannon for a measly $12 or so is simply irresistible. The Camp isn't as impressive, and the use of a shiny plastic-y paper as the tent fabric is a bit annoying. But I can certainly see why everybody is raving over the Stagecoach, three horses, great detailing, five beautiful figures, and all for 30 bucks. I may pick this one up on sale, but I've got too much Lego on my "must buy" list as it is. Colby City is good, but I just can't do another larger scale set this year. Especially from a theme that I'm not that into. Silver Mine, just look at all the delicious dark tan... Amazon had better not put that on sale. I'm not into trains, so the Constitution Train Chase doesn't appeal to me, but I can sure see the quality of the set. Bottom line, all these sets show the growing trend of more detailed prints and builds, a tread that I love to say the least. It's just a good thing I'm not a Lone Ranger fan, or my wallet would be screaming! Edited March 8, 2013 by SteampunkDoc Quote
lordpigthe3rd Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 It's good to finally see high-res pictures of these sets, no words can describe how excited I am for the Stagecoach set and the Camanche Camp! Quote
nicoga3000 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Silver Mine Shootout and Constitution Train Chase look like must buys. I wish I could house a LEGO train layout and justify that set! Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I still say it's nothing but horrible cruelty that the only parts I want (longhorn skull) are exclusive to a huge set. Quote
-obelix- Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Never liked the Lone Ranger much, but I have to say those sets look great. Thanks for the pictures! Quote
