Repeter Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I built the silver mine over the weekend and I must say, I enjoyed it immensely. Great details, tons of playability, great minifigs (I also picked up the cavalry builder)...I loved the set so much, I'm picking up the stagecoach and the town set on my way home and even plan on scooping the train set. I could care less for the Lone Ranger, but these are great builds that any western fan can dig. Quote
Mr_Malfoy Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Just picked up the stagecoach, colby city, and the calvary builder. Great sets! Quote
Bricknblue Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I've got to say, those minifigure "tools" that are just printing on flat bricks are really, really lame. The stopwatch. The slingshot. Just terrible. It's too bad because the rest looks great. The stopwatch works fine, but they should have just made a slingshot piece, and use it for a trouble making CMF piece. Quote
bekindsorewind Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Lone Ranger sets are now up on TRU.com. But beware, they are incredibly overpriced. http://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=19980386&ab=TRU_Header:Lone-Ranger:Category Quote
Repeter Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 TrU prices are crazy...why do they mark-up so much? I bought some IM sets there, but got $25 0ff of $100, so no big, right? I just don't get how TrU stays in the LEGO game with their prices? Now that the LR sets are in others stores, why buy at TrU? Quote

Usually people stomach the price because TRU gets sets a few weeks earlier than everybody else. But since they came out the same day, it wouldn't be wise to buy them all at TRU. Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I am so jealous of you guys. I will have to wait till Saturday to get a set (Stagecoach!) and join in on the LR love! Quote

Only Sinner Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I'm going to pick up a set this week, too. I've been eyeballing that stagecoach since the the first photos. And are slingshots really banned in Austrailia? Guns too? Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 If guns were banned, then the sets wouldn't be allowed at all! If there was a slingshot mold, it wouldn't look good if it was a solid plastic piece. To incorporate string would make it too large! Strange how the sets are on the S@H but the LR minisite is nonexistent! Can't wait to get the Stagecoach. I think this license is probably the best for value, I mean, compare the Batcave to the Silver Mine! They are the same price, but the Mine is so much larger, and packed with play features! I USED to think DC Super Heroes was a well-valued license, but I stand corrected! Quote
Sirtank Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I ordered Colby city, Stage coach, and Silver mine from Target.com, and Commanche camp and the figure pack from amazon. I hope after I get paid this week I will be able to pick of the train, but I will most likely have to wait until next paycheck. Quote
JeagerEX Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 (edited) To all people who bought Cavalry Builder set, If you want those blue union soldiers in original LEGO theme, make sure buy any random yellow male minifig heads and replace the flesh ones to make less realistic. If guns were banned, then the sets wouldn't be allowed at all! Agreed 100% These sets will be banned internationally because of the new mold of pistol accessories. The new mold pistol resembles the real-life revolver. I hope they not to buy them instead they wanted to buy CMF Series 10 instead of that crap theme with a kind of firearm accessory that has any references to violence and weapons. Lone Ranger sets are now up on TRU.com. But beware, they are incredibly overpriced. http://www.toysrus.c...Ranger:Category Yeah! They are really overpriced, but I don't really buy them instead I will just save money for CMF Series 10. If I work in LEGO Brand Store, I will not put those crap theme with any references to weapons and violence to their inventory computer system. Edited April 16, 2013 by JeagerEX Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I highly doubt that any country would ban the sale of this theme for miniscule guns. They aren't even that signifcantly more realistic. I also doubt slingshots being banned in Australia had any bearing on them printing it on a tile rather than making a new mold for it. It was probably an entirely financial decision. Quote
JeagerEX Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I also doubt slingshots being banned in Australia had any bearing on them printing it on a tile rather than making a new mold for it. It was probably an entirely financial decision. Also Mike from Adventurers: Dino Island has a Y shaped slingshot that printed on his torso. I think 5 Adventurers Dino Island sets should be banned in Australia. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Also Mike from Adventurers: Dino Island has a Y shaped slingshot that printed on his torso. I think 5 Adventurers Dino Island sets should be banned in Australia. It's a tile. It shoots nothing. I'm 100% sure that the image of a slingshot would not be banned by anybody. Quote
Lyichir Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I've got to say, those minifigure "tools" that are just printing on flat bricks are really, really lame. The stopwatch. The slingshot. Just terrible. It's too bad because the rest looks great. I see nothing wrong with the stopwatch; after all, a stopwatch is essentially flat, so a new piece just for that would probably be overkill. The slingshot, on the other hand, is disappointing. Even if there were no actual sling attached, a "forked stick" piece could be used for all sorts of things, even as a structural element. So in general, I have no problem with objects printed on tiles, save for when a new part would be astronomically more useful. Take the printed "sock" from the Harry Potter sets, for example: how useful would a sock mold really be? Quote
Uthered Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Well I picked up the Calvary builder and the stagecoach a couple days ago. I am delighted with the pieces in both sets. However, one of my Calvary soldiers face decal was missing. just curious if anyone else had run into this? Quote
JeagerEX Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 LEGO delays UK release of Lone Ranger sets. http://brickset.com/news/article/?ID=6262 Quote
Brickadiergerard Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 It's a tile. It shoots nothing. I'm 100% sure that the image of a slingshot would not be banned by anybody. Hmm, but what if someone in Australia made a slingshot and fired the tile with the image of the slingshot on it? Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I that case, though, the tile is shot, not shooting. My point about the guns wasn't that they should be banned, but that they would be banned if guns were banned in Australia. I have no problem with how "violent" they look. I don't like them as much, though. If you buy a few Monster Fighters sets, you can get a bunch of old revolvers! Quote
LibraryBoy Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Wow, those Toys R Us prices are crazy. I'll wait for these to hit Target or until I can get to a Lego Store! Quote
Alcarin Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Those sets are sooooooo overpriced on EU amazons.... 50 euros compared to 30 bucks did LEGO lose their minds in wild west? Quote
