I would really love to have your suggestions on this... I'm in the process of creating an underground tank place for the main train. tankplaats_mijn.png

I would really like to make it even more realistic. It is inspired by this:

trein,2812-ONDERGRONDS%20DIESEL%20TANKSTATION%20STAATSMIJN%20EMMA%201953.JPG

Any idea's? I would really like to make the top more round, but that is difficult if I don't make it 4 studs wide.

Well.... not 4 wide ?? That's difficult... have you tried 2x2 round ? some headlights and a nozzle .. perhaps that is something ?

I Think that this might help.. making a SNOT connection on the underside with some of these .

In that way you can still ad something in the front and perhapse on the side...

Good luck !!

Sorry for this message in Dutch, but if you use google translation you'll get the picture

Again, sorry for the Dutch , I really can't get the message over in English without painting him a clear picture.

You could also use these or these to get nice curvature for a pump, but again it would be 4W. The only way I can think of that would be smaller is using 2x2 round bricks default_classic.gif

He could use the 2nd of those pieces, but place 3 across, with the ends embedded in the wall. So it'd be 3-wide as needed, plus the pump would be anchored to the wall. Voilà!

So, I used google translator and this is what came out (after a few adjustments):

JopieK, I ff messing and am come down to a thickness of 3:

1 with edge slope and one without edge, coupled to a 1x1 with a stud on 2 sides. the top and at the bottom a headlight stone. over that a 2x3 flat, to keep things together. a 1x1 on the side with a horizontal clip, since the hose.

just a little filling and then you pretty "ready". Do you have one stud space to some meters etc to post or maybe a jumper plate and a 1x2 printed thereon (all seems a bit overkill)

I hope this is a bit more along the way, to me it seems like to use it myself

Even though I understand Dutch pretty well, I'm not sure to get you right (ik snap het niet!). What parts do you refer to? Can you link them at brinklink?

Sure, no problem.

A Brick, Modified 2 x 4 x 1 1/3 with Curved Top and one without studs on their sides. on top a brick 1x1 with 2 studs on the sides, underneath a headlight brick closed of by a 2x3 plate. on 1 side a plate 1x1 with a clip and you'll have the basic form for a gaspump. You can add a jumperbrick on front, so you'll get a raised 1x2 plate with a meter of some sorts. Place a few 1x1 round bright orange plates on top for a little dohickey thing and I guess your done. I think that a 1x1 plate with some gage is nicer than making it more bulkey.

Is that better ? I just tried placing links to bricklink, but I keep messing the urls up for some reason

Please try in English next time or send a clarification via PM. While I appreciate that you're trying to help, we're an international forum and if we let everyone post in their own language, Eurobricks will quickly become unreadable for everyone. Thanks. :sweet:

But you know what they say about the Yanks vs. Brittish: two different people divided by one language ;)

Thanks for the comments, I might build them to the back, I didn't think about that earlier but with your guys suggestions that popped into my mind!!!

Of course if I have worked it out in real LEGO I'll post it in my mine module topic.

Well, together with all your idea's I got it a bit further (thanks!!!):

Maybe tomorrow I will post an update of the scenery. Now we are in the process of combining al modules downstairs. Turns out we have quite some space at LEGOWorld so we will still need to build a bit in the scarce moments that we have apart from work and study I guess ;) (b.t.w. don't think a lot of people have seen this particular Mine train truck :p
