Hi All!

I have this beauty modified, mainly i filled the gaps, recoloured, outfit detail things. From technical point of view, i instantly added a second differential, and a re-tought crane, which has now improved movement range, looks more serious, and closes itself properly. :sweet: All functions work as before, i only installed a swith in the top of the cab, now the playability is much much better (search for the black antenne on the top), since you can easily reach it, not like the battery box in the original design.

I hope You enjoy it!

Thanks! :classic:

It was challenging to find a geometry where it stays compact, and works smooth. Maybe the only disadvantage, that i had to install a clutch for the upper LA to increase the torque, so the speed is reduced, but still enjoyable with good lifting capacity.

Thanks guys!

One hint: if anyone would replicate the crane solution, i suggest to use the new type of linear actuator, i tried the older one as well, but it didn't worked that fine.

Didn't quite like the way it came out of the box. Added duel wheels on the rear axles. The aft most rear axle wasn't connected to the drive train either. Fixed that. Also widened the bed to cover the added wheels. There is also a 'crash fence" at the front of the log bed to protect the crane. Also did a "black-out" Also note, the "blue connectors sticking out like a sore thumb in the black pieces have been since changed out to black. The grille pieces are actually metallic finish. just don't show up very well in the photos.

Thanks all!!

And yes, feel free to use ideas if you like. Though I unfortunately didn't write down any type of directions or parts listing. It was kind of build as I go. Come up with idea one, get pieces to do that idea, and then either, go back and get more, because I didn't think it through first or missed something. Or look at it completed, and go "I think this would look cool if I did this" then head back to buy pieces for second/third/fourth ideas. LOL... I think it took almost 4 months to get it to this point.

Merged topics

I dont know about here but in other subforums posters get told off for reviving old topics. Here we seem to merge topics continually, often you cant find a topic you know you have posted in because if has been merged with some other topic. It also means we dont seem to have as many new topics posted as they get merged with old ones making the forum look less active than it actually is.

Just my opinion.

Back on topic, nice mods, becoming more like 8285, one of the best truck designs offered as a Technic set.
