robuko Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 The Rimlands The Rimlands is the caldera of an extinct massive Volcano. We all know where it is from Gex's map of Historica The Capital is Stonetown, which sits at the strategic narrowest point on the North East isthmus rim, giving it excellent access to the freshwater lagoon and to the sea. The inner shores of the lagoon are inhabited by pterodactyls. The Golems mostly stay in Stonetown, but they also have a wondrous cathedral at Point Brave on the South Eastern Cape. As for the ruler, well, therein lies a tale. The Rimland is inhabited by dinosaurs, golems and humans. The dinosaurs are led by King Rex, and the golems by President Dorfl. The human power stucture is complicated - the Religious Leader is Shaman Bell, the Military Leader is Commander Blade, and the Civic Leader is Iago Sahkranavit. The unique characteristic of the Rimlander humans is their harmony with nature. They can communicate with and command plants, rocks, birds and animals (but not fish). Their ancestors used this power to set the golem people free of the rock. They use it to charm living trees into the shape of houses, and Iago uses this to cement his alliance with the dinosaur people. The colour scheme of the Rimlands is yellow and blue. Citizens of the Rimlands Here we see Commander Blade with Mrs Leonara Blade, and Mrs Josephine Bell with Shaman Bell taking a stroll on the shore. Here we have President Dorfl, Iago Sahkranavit together with King Rex and Narven Thomas together with Duke Repton. Iago is an orphan who was raised by dinosaurs and who has used his intimate knowledge of their society to build tight bonds between the human and dinosaur people. Narven Thomas is his right hand man, an enthusiastic and boisterous youth who knows the back country villages well. King Rex uses his friendship with Iago to secure a plentiful supply of giant prehistoric fish from the lagoon for the dinosaurs. The humans are happy to catch them in their nets, and being served fresh fish sure beats hunting pigs. He and his right hand man Duke Repton are using this particular expedition to learn more about the golems' relationship with humans. The dinosaur people and the golems don't really have a strong relationship, and King Rex is curious to learn more about the human power over the sleepless stone men. Scenes of the Rimlands Stonetown is a gorgeous mix of stone and forest. As a Religious Traditionalist and the guardian of the secrets of natural communion, Shaman Bell is a bit old fashioned. His home is in a leafy suburb, and wholly made of trees, but has only a bare earth floor for his ceremonies, and cooking pot of Secret Potion. Is it this potion that gives the humans their fantastic powers? He's certainly not telling. Quote
NiceMarmot Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 I think those are the best palm trees I have ever seen in LEGO. The inverted tan bush is perfect for the dead leaves. Quote
Gabe Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Top entry robuko! You always bring something unexpected and unique to the table, and this is no exception. I love the look of the living tree-house, the bending trunks of the palms frame the doorway perfectly. This would be another super guild to build in... best of luck! Quote
