Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 An overall shot of the ship so far. My collection currently lacks any white or blue flaps for the gunports, so those will have to stay open until I can bricklink some. Same goes for those hideous green railings - They need to be red. A detail shot of the double doors leading into the faux cabin and the rather ornate ships wheel A look at the quarterdeck without the mast. Note the ladders and steps leading up to the quarterdeck. A side shot of her stern, quarterdeck, and wheel. The somewhat-ornate stern. Note the volvo in the background painted up like a swedish flag ;) Snootch, one of my outdoor cats, appears displeased at... the cinder block..?! Comments? Critque? Suggestions? X-D Quote
Capn Kirk 911 Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 I kinda worried about your cat X-D but the ship looks good! ;-) Quote
Scouty Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Hehee, the car and cat look nice ;-) ...and the skull-kraken attacking your ship :-P ! The ship looks very good as well. Can't wait to it's finish. I agree, those green railings need to go! Quote
Imperator Viktor Napoleon Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Lovely. looks a lot like my recently finished Spanish Brig-of-war: Resplendant. I'll post pics as soon as I get a digital camera. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 4, 2007 Governor Posted January 4, 2007 The stern looks quite ornate but what about the bow? Why are there no closeups of the bow? Quote
ZCerberus Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 The stern looks quite ornate but what about the bow? Why are there no closeups of the bow? There doesn't appear to be too much on the bow right now! Maybe we should give the Admiral some more time... Hey... you know what the bow needs? A HEADLAMP! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 8, 2007 Governor Posted January 8, 2007 And just to go off topic... Are they real skulls in the background? Quote
Scouty Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I'm sure they are. They are pretty realistic. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 9, 2007 Governor Posted January 9, 2007 And my next question after that is: Why are there skulls in the background? Quote
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 @Cerberus: No, the bow isnt finished yet - Good guess! @Phes: Yes, those are real skulls. They are deer skulls. We have had them since we moved here, neigh-on 15 years ago, when I was a wee lad of 6 months. The one you can barely see is about half of a cow skull. We put them out front every halloween. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 15, 2007 Governor Posted January 15, 2007 @Cerberus: No, the bow isnt finished yet - Good guess! Can ye give us an estimate upon how long it will take to complete the hull Admiral? Quote
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 *thinks* Umm... No? :P To me, LEGO is an amusement. It something I do when I dont want to/ dont have to do anything else. Painting miniatures is my primary focus and my real "Hobby". Thus, while I usually have a timetable to get my painting done, I work on my LEGO stuff whenever im in the mood and have time. Quote
El Bucanero Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 That's a nice ship, the Spanish are getting mighty! :-P :armada1: Are there any pictures of the inside of the cabin? To me, the stern is a bit too square, perhaps because it looks a bit too high, why did you make it so high? I think it would look fine a little bit lower. The overall look is fine! And may I ask you why the volvo is painted up like a Swedish flag?? X-D Lovely. looks a lot like my recently finished Spanish Brig-of-war: Resplendant.I'll post pics as soon as I get a digital camera. Do you mean the look or the size? I think a ship at this size would be to small for a brig of war... Quote

Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 Possibly :P Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 15, 2007 Governor Posted January 15, 2007 So where do you intend to go with this thread? Quote
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 So where do you intend to go with this thread? Probably nowhere, as I intend on FINISHING it when next I get to building. I made this thread to show that I had actually done work on it, show that I do infact have a ship, and show that im not just some forumgoing loudmouth who has nothing to back up his words. YOU were the one who said it'd be fine if I posted WIP pictures, so I did. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 16, 2007 Governor Posted January 16, 2007 Is there any particular reason you've emphasised certain words by use of capitalisation? Is this to denote a hint of agitation? I have no problem with you creating a Work In Progress thread nor ever thought you were "some forumgoing loudmouth who has nothing to back up his words". I was wondering what kind of feedback you'd like to receive until the time comes for you to post some update pictures... Just trying to support you - thats all... Quote
