sam89 Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 I've just finished playing the demo, and I enjoyed it very much :-D I'll definitely be buying the game when it comes out. The graphics and animation were great, and I like all the great little touches. Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 That sounds really nice :) What touches are you refering too sam? Quote
starwarsfan Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 i am downloading the game it is a long download 20% complete Quote
sam89 Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Well you can take control of the silver droid to open doors for you, and I like it when objects explode into all their separate Lego pieces :-D Also, something funny happens with the chairs in the room at the beginning. Quote
sam89 Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Well the music was quite quiet for most of it, but there was some proper SW music. The sound effects were all good, but there hasn't been any diologue so far (perhaps because it's the demo?) Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Thats something I will definitly look into. Thanks for the infos ;) Quote
starwarsfan Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 i think because most lego game dont have diologue Quote
Precious Jazz Posted March 10, 2005 Author Posted March 10, 2005 Here's a new video on the AOTC part of the game: http://media.g4tv.com/video/G4_Cinematech_...s_EpisodeII.wmv Quote
Bloke Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Just downloaded it..pretty good really. It works on my laptop just fine, except the faces are not drawn..my ati radeon card the culprit there me thinks. I am not bothered..ps2 is the format i will get it on. The demo is good, lots to do, some nifty moves..and more fun in freeplay mode after you have completed the initial game. You get to wander round as Anakin (from ep 1) and more..even Jar Jar is there, shame you can't self destruct yourself in that character :oD Overall I am quite impressed, looking forward to the full product...lots of puzzles too, complete 10 in the demo for a game code, not sure what it is as i havn't got that far..only got 3 :$ No dialogue..its not in the final game either from what i gather, just a few grunts and what not, although i think 3po says things but only in cut scenes...may be wrong though. Lappy specs by the way for anyone wanting to know what it runs on: Celeron 2.8ghz, 512 ram, 128mb ati radeon pro. All the best Dave Quote
Jipay Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I didn't go really further since I don't have my paddle in canada. this is so frustrating, this type of game was never designed to be played on a keyboard. Anyway I found really funny, but basically you rush, you kill, you take the coins, you rush again, you use the bricks, you rush. Have I mentioned you have to rush ? But i must admit for a lego video game, it's really good. The cinematic are funny like you can't even imagine. I played max resolution with everything at top and I found they could have done a better job on texturing, but come on the game cover all the episodes so it's not bad at all. im sure it provides hours of fun (as long as you got a paddle) :) I would give it a good 8 out of ten because it's really entertaining Quote
selder Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Here are some mirrors: http://www.3dgamers.com/games/legostarwars/downloads/ http://files.filefront.com/LEGO_Star_Wars_...;/fileinfo.html Quote
OOM-30 Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I think it would be cool if someone could make a list of Minifigs in the game, and maybe brickmade vehicles and minis. Would it need its own thread? Quote
Jipay Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 It's listed under the game directory... But remember it's only a demo... So far we have : - Anakin boy - battledroid - destroyer - droidstarfighter - gonkdroid - JarJar - MTT - Obiwankenobi - Pkdroid - protocol droids - Quigon - R2D2 - Republic cruiser under carriage - Royal Guard - Tradefederationlanding ship Quote
snefroe Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 wow!! this download seems to be extremely popular. i just got the message of my mirror server that it was already at maximum capacity and cannot take another one... Quote
languages Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I cant wait for this game. The demo was fantastic. When does the proper game come out? Quote
The Middleman Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 From the all-awesome Penny Arcade: 'I get the sense from Gabriel that he finds the idea of LEGO Star Wars somewhat sacrilegious. I'm intrigued by it, honestly, as it amounts to a kind of sanctioned parody of the hallowed series. There's a demo of it out now, that's where that earlier link went. I've always loved those interlocking bricks and their tiny, perpetually jubilant dudes, to my mind this pairing represents a Flawless Victory. To know him better I tried to imagine how I'd feel if some renegade Danish cabal went and snapped together a Lego version of Dune or something, and my rage was so fierce it was picked up by seismograph. So I guess I sort of get it. ' Quote
