Maybe I have just overlooked something, but it seems like there are almost no reviews here for this theme. Also, what is the cheapest way to get a set of all 4 turtles?

Buying them loose on eBay or BL as there's no cheap way to get all 4 turtles unfortunately.

The main problem is Leo as he only appears in the most expensive sets.

If you don't want loose minifigs, the "cheapest" way (still costs around $90) to get them is to buy:

- Turtle Lair Attack (Leo + Raph)

- Kraang Lab Escape (Mikey)

- Shredder's Dragon Bike (Don)

I actually bought that exact combination because I wanted the 4 turtles and Splinter and Shredder. The downside(and upside) is each turtle has 2 variations on their face, so depending on which head you want can determine which set you would pick up. I think overall that combination of heads is most fitting for the characters (Mikey is having fun, Raph is upset at the world, and the other two are determined but no true emotion either way). I don't particularly like Donnie's other head from the Baxter set, so I'm glad I didn't pick that up.

I also purchased that combination but also bought the two skateboards that I was missing from Bricklink and picked up an April to round out the collection.

As far as I know there is only one of Shredder's Dragon Bike by Cloney, and judging by the replies it got, people were not too excited about this set, or others as well. Of course we all know that we can expect something on the level of Spongebob rather than Star Wars or Indiana Jones from these sets, still they seem to be lacking. And this is probably best shown on the Shellraiser set, as it's a missed opportunity as the flagship set it should / could have been. The nice details it has are overshadowed by rather sloppy design choices, like the graffiti panel, the visible technic bar, the overall enormous size, the unfinished interior or the too big wheels. On the other hand, one has to admit that TLC copied the original design rather well, so the problem is partially in the hands of the TV show design team. This is what I would call the "Clone Wars situation". While TLCs toys are almost perfect versions of the renders in the TV show, the original design was sometimes so uninspired that it didn't help the model TLC came up with.

Having said all this, I have to admit that the Lair playset offers a lot of play features/ variety for a €50 set and it might be the best set in my book, as I am not a fan of oversized vehicles (the Dragon Bike could come straight from Ninjago or Chima and no one would notice). And against many opinions here and elsewhere, I also like the Stealth Shell (despite the rather ugly fish guy). It doesn't look too bad, but certainly is not worth 27€. Like the Robot, which is not worth 50€ anywhere close. I might pick some up on sale, and if we didn't get a review till then, I will give it a go.

I just picked up the Shredder's Dragon Bike. Wasn't a big fan of the set, only wanted it for the Shredder minifig. I absolutely love the helmet. I am looking to get additional Shredders, but it looks like it is going to be pretty expensive to do so (i.e., having to by the set) as I am unable to find Shredders on Ebay or BL :(

I hope the next theoretical wave has some builds that are more interesting. All these TMNT builds are being broken up by me. Love the minifigures. The builds? Even with the great show supporting this stuff I'm still kind of bored by every single build ultimately. I know it's not based on the new stuff but I'd kill for a Technodrome or something a bit more iconic. I'm doubting any of these current vehicles will be viewed as iconic 'cause honestly they're pretty ugly (I've not seen much praise over the new "van" for instance, nobody seems to care about the vehicles in this incarnation). :)

Well,

Spoiler

we have Krang Prime coming in for the finale, and Shredder seems intent on teaming up to fight the common enemy (the turtles). It's already being established the Utro-- sorry, the Krang are bringing tech through from Dimension X, so I could see a technodrome becoming part of the show eventually.

I remember before I was actively buying Lego, seeing the Death Star on its release and wishing I had the money to buy it to convert into the Technodrome, haha.

The other day I finally decided I would buy the Kraang Lab Breakout set, as I had been umming and ahhing over it for awhile, and I quite like it, the Kraang figure is quite good and I like his mobility device. And because of that little set I now want to get a few others, so today I bought the Stealth Shell in Pursuit, it's a good set, I like the Fishface figure, but have to say I much prefer the alternative build to the actual one. Next set I am going to buy is the Shredder Dragon Bike (which I nearly got today but didn't have enough money.)

I wanted at least one of each turtle, Splinter and a Shredder, so I bought Kraang Lab Escape, Shredder's bike and the lair. The lair is the only set that had a fun build (the "lab" isn't too bad, but it's just a scenery piece, at that price point). I am happy with the minifigs (I quite like the foot soldiers and dark ninja too), but the sets are underwhelming...I have my eye on the Baxter's robot set, but $50 is a bit steep, imo. Hopefully, we'll see a sale or something, as I'd really like an April and a mouser bot.

spoilers:

I was hoping the Kraang Prime would be at least a bit like the old Kraang but it's got the voice actor Roseanne Barr. Not giving me hope :P.

To be honest, if she pulls it off, I think her naisly voice could come pretty close to the old krang. If its just her regular voice though, then yeah- lame.

So when can we expect rumors of the return of TMNT? Assuming it happens. :P

What month did we find out last year? I don't even remember. I'm worried TMNT Legos are over! :(

Around September.

I think it might be cool to see a TMNT LEGO game. Granted, I don't know what exclusive they would do or if it is popular enough to warrant that. I have some friends who aren't into LEGO, but are into TMNT and would want that game, of all games.

I wish Lego would release sales so we could have a better idea how themes were doing.

I really want TMNT to come back. As unscientific as a sample size of one is I've noticed in my stores that at first they were off the shelves like crazy but now they're overstuffed with sets. Makes me worried :P.

Man i got lucky I went to the Texas comic con and a booth that sold lego parts had lego minifigures and sure enough, I found and bought all four turtles for 35.00 usd!!! saved me a 100 bucks right there!!!

I saw Leo for cheap on ebay looking for the extra four heads they have. What sucks is that they didn't have any weapons, and what's weird is that the store had all the accesories for the other minifigures, just not the turtles for some odd reason. Luckily they had two pairs of grey sais and two swords for leo, but tomorrow I am going to their store behind doors and have a look at their inventory to pick up some pieces and maybe Leo's nunchucks an donatello bo staff!!!

By the way what are the odds of us seeing TMNT based from the upcoming michael bay?

I have seen some strange polybags before but that....that takes the cake. WTF with the green blocks representing the Turtles? I realize that it is target practice but...(shakes head). I think I am putting too much thought into this...

What's there to think about? It looks neat. I think the little blocks representing the turtles are cute. I wanted the Kraang robosuit thingy also, so it's win-win.

Lots of good pieces as well. I'll have to look for this one.

You do know you're talking about a polybag?

Anywho, I love the inclusion of the "The Kranng" figure, as he's pretty hard to get and a nice army building figure.
