Dude, we're not complaining. We're just critisizing. There's nothing wrong about saying what's wrong with sets. Also, your opinion before was perfectly legitimate. I don't see why everyone's chewing you out on grammar and all that stuff. Shame really. Nothing wrong about expressing yourself! ;-)

Anyhoo, I'm with Xeno. It does seem a tad "un-femmy" to be a female figure. BUT, given how the Star Wars sets have unfinished stickers on them, there's a good chance that this will be rectified before the release. It's also plausible that this ISN'T a female figure, but rather a normal human ally with insectiod armour. But I'm praying I'm wrong!

Just a neat fact I'm going to add in here. Apparently, VERY few kids on the LEGO.com boards wanted a female figure. They kept on saying "EWWWW, DEY GOT COOTIES" and "IF DERE WAS ONE, SHE SHOULD BE SHY AND DO HOUSEWORKZ!!!!elevenoneOne". Gotta love those boards. :-D

We're all praying you're wrong! But I agree, it does look a bit un-female. Knowing Lego, i'm surprised she doesn't have lipstick.

Well, yes... I've gotta say, thats a pretty good impression! Or are they actual quotes? ;-)

I quit going to that TLC Club Messageboard after about 2 weeks....

Try to post anything Intelligent or that doesn't say "OMG LEGO IS COOL!" and the mods Will delete it(actually it just wont show up, because All posts are filtered manually before anything is added).

This post/approval lag also effectively prevents any conversations in threads, since the order they show up will be randomly interspaced with others that have been approved that day.

It like they're Purposely keeping the boards dumb.

My guess, because its simpler to keep things dumb and keep people from directly communicating than it is to be a responsible mod or deal with the parents of kids who might get upset by something someone says. *n*

at any rate, the posts on that board are *probably* not a good representation of how the market feels about female minifigs.. And Yet! TLC uses it as their market reasearch

A little off topic, but the marketing research department of TLC appears as a never ending mystery to me....

It seems like they figured out somewhen at the beginning of the new millennium that "kids of today" prefer

to play right out of the box rather than building more complex things.... and TLC runs straight into

something like an identity crisis.... Instead of hold on to what they can do the best....

Sadly enough, it's a 100% accurate impression of some rather... Uh... "Younger members" of the boards. :-P

And while I was searching for that topic, it turns out opinion has changed recently. Now, those whippersnappers want girls! But for reasons other than balancing out the gender ratio... Here, let this quote do the talking:

...the girl should fall in love and the other boys will get jellus

And then the traditionalists strike back:

MORE GUYS!!!!! >:-(

Oh, and speaking of market research, here's some explanations for some of the sets.

Hayato's fan-beloved "Holy bricks, those are GUNS!?" behemoth:

they shold have a guy in a oversized massive walker who has a unesersaely large handelbar mostach

New combiner models:

COMBINE ALL THE MODELS

Sentai Fortress:

There should be a fortress like a huge pie, and then it could have lasers and stuff. Lalalalalalalllalalalalolololo1!!111

But on the other hand, there's some really good ideas. Oh, and if LEGO reads those boards, I PRAY they listen to this guy:

i think like those new star wars sets like that clone thing and droid thing

they robot one and exo pilot one and more small battle machines

Man, the more I look at these sets, the more I notice stuff.

I have noticed the robot vehical looks really cool, and better yet I see two big zamor launchers. IMO, I think it is much better than the Striking Venom. See, as cool as the Striking Venom is, I just though it was too big and sort of looked out of place. I didn't like the color scheme(black was good, but the green looked horrible) and I found it almost impossible to attack machines. The turret was good for attacking but all the other shooters were rather stiff. That is where the Bridge Walker came in. It actually looked like a battle machine that could be easier to attack other mechas with with its arms. I think we can expect that sort of playability with the tank, and it will be as fun as the X-1 Rammer. I loke the heavy weaponry, the head, the air vehicles, and Ryo's mecha makes this set my second favorite of the summer ones.

The Golden Tower is looking great too, and not being so huge like Sentai Fortress that you could actually move it. The small mech that comes with it is cooler than the Sonic Phantom IMO, for the fact that it is smaller. The Sonic Phantom was good, but it just was a bit too big so you had to use both hands to play with it.

And of course, I have already expressed why I love Ha-Ya-To's mech than any other Exo-Force mech by far, including the Bridge Walker.

I guess it's time I say my opinion on these sets too.

ROBOT ASSAULT VECHILE: brilliant. I especially like how the cockpit can rush forward. It looks like it can run over any land mech and the guns and lasers would deal with the air mechs. Ryo's mech looks really cool, especially the claws. Those golden fingers will be good for mocing, and it looks like it can pick robots up, fly back to golden city, then torture them for info. the little devvie flyers=cool. these will be really good for battles and they look very fun. Another good thing about this is the minifig count

GOLDEN CITY TOWER: My fav yet. Its really good because of well...everything! We've been waiting for a Hitomi fig for ages, and its here. New face new torso. The actual tower=great. It's got flags, golden katanas, prison cells for robots, (i think)golden and red elements. The mini sonic phantom is really cool, especially the wings. complete with a blunt shooter and two turbines, this is really great for it's size. The colour scheme is really good as well.

HAYATO MECH: My least favourite, but then again very good. The actual mech isn't very good, cos it doesnt have any guns/swords/shields. But the jetpack...It looks as if it could be a space ship for humans. The only bad thing about the jetpack is it should be blue and white like the mech.

Bye!

Getting back on topic, I don't think swords and claws and chainsaws are that out of place in an anime based line, nor are pointless. Why? Well, if you were an Exo-force pilot, and you wanted to deal some seriously heavy damage quickly, using a weapon like a chainsaw or a sword would be easier and quicker. Simply slashing a sword is a lot easier than aiming a laser gun, wouldn't you say? ;-)

Plus,it's super effective when sneaking up behind infantry! ;-)

Actually, metal cutting against metal (sword vs mecha armor) probably is not very effective. If you ever cut metal with a hand saw... its very hard and deflects sharp force pretty well, this is why metal saws are designed with tiny teeth for slow grinding away of metal not actual slicing like a sword....

If you really want a close-range mecha weapon, I'd say mount a mini shaped explosive charge on your mecha's hands; grab hold and burn through opponent's armor. (some early anti-tank explosives worked this way, specially focused explosion flat against thick armor so it burns a hole all the way through)

There are actually two blunt shooters. 8-

The Robot Tank/Base thing...

Would really look a lot better if they replaced the ugly bicycle wheels with the giant spacewheels from MegaCoreMagnetizer (remember those?)

would make it look a lot more solid....

I agree. Fix the wheels and much is saved.

I'm not familiar with the wheels you're talking about but if they look like giant size R1 Rammer wheels, I'm all for it...

That's pretty cool, although I'm not sure that you're left with anything that great if you take away the gold.

Lool, like every EF set IMO :-D

However, this is great for a parts pack, and that torso is really nice ;-)

WOW! Two mechs for Ha-Ya-To! TLC really felt guilty for giving him cruddy piece of #### mechs. :-P Ha-Ya-To is really getting his revenge on having cruddy mechs last year.

I really like this one. The gun looks very powerful, and believe it or not, I like the shield too. It fits in with it so good. I wonder what that gold tube on the main gun is. The wings look like they had thought put into them, almost as much thought as the Sky Titan's. I really like the legs because they are covered with armor, but the feet look to small for the mech's size. The cockpit looks very protective, and I love that they are using the analog sticks. Again, I love the weapons. The shield is just so cool.

You know, I think we will be seeing one of Ha-Ya-To's in stores soon. They can't have four summer sets. In 2006, they released three sets before summer, not including the first wave of mechs. I hope at least one of these are released before summer.

Great find, exo-attack.
