Sorry for double threading.

I think it also is a good idea about news put together.

On Lowlug.nl they have a forum for New sets and then new sets 2012, new sets 2013 etc. and then everything divided by lines

@ Neville Longbottom: The information I have seen I already have posted or will post this week on the fora. The superheroes sets were just grey boxes and the name of the license, like; Superman set, marvel set or something like that.

Nice selection of parts in the large set. It's too bad more of the non-licensed sets don't use atypical colors.

Also, it should be noted this isn't a Pixar film.

Eh, they're very similar to the Cars stuff, but I guess it appeals to little kids, so all the power. :classic:

Well yeah, since Planes is a spin-off of Cars. The sets do look cool. I'm curious if Planes will be exclusive to Duplo, or if we'll also get System sets for the upcoming movie.

There's no way they're coming to System. The movie comes out in August. Additionally, none were listed at the Toy Fair, but these were.

Considering that Disney owns Pixar is there really a distinction anymore?

I don't want to be off-topic, but there is a distinction. Pixar has nothing to do with this movie.

Wow! These really car cool designs for planes, and the colors are outstanding. Anything but the basic red, white, blue, black, yellow and green is fine with me. It is so much fun playing with Duplo!

I have not purchased any DUPLO until now but that may change they are so cute.

And also Pixar’s John Lasseter is chief creative officer of both Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios and is the principal creative advisor at Walt Disney Imagineering.

Thanks for the nice pictures, Grogall, and thanks for merging the two threads, Cornelius! :classic:

What do you mean? As far as I know, about every theme uses atypical colors, except maybe Creator, City, and Technic, but that's because those are trying to maintain the classic Lego feel I think.

Lol, what's next? Disney's Boats?

Perhaps, or Disney's Trains, which could be their answer to Thomas the Tank Engine.

Of course there is a distinction. That's like saying Batman & Robin is the same as The Dark Knight just because they're both made by WB.

(Off topic:) Planes 2: Fire and Rescue- take that as you will, as it might have boats and stuff (Disney has stated they want to do boats somewhere); (on topic:) we can probably NOT expect Duplo sets on the sequel, as I highly doubt it will be released in theaters.

I could see Disney trains. That could be fun. Granted it would be more Duplo trains. My daughter has a different duplo train and she liked it okay. She didn't get into cars and probably won't get into planes. But then again, this is a kid who really likes Batman and other Super Heroes...she is way more into System sets than Duplo, even though she is only 3. But she was excited to see Jake sets coming out. She only recently got into them, but it sure beats a lot of other shows she used to want to watch.

Knowing LEGO, if they did a (theateratical) Trains, there would definitely be some System sets. Trains are so popular in the LEGO community and with kids, I really think LEGO would pounce on it. Also, these 2013 sets have great PPP ratios for Duplo.
