pe668 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 With 1/2 this set comprising of Technic pieces I figure this was the best place to post. This build has stayed much the same as when I created it a few years back on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The good news is it's up on Cuusoo now. If you like the design then why not give it a vote. grohl Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Awesome, reminds me of Mahjqa's micro train. Quote
Kristel Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Supported. These are really cute and, even better, it is a unique type of project. Was this on display at BrisBricks? Quote
Lost_In_Noise Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 What an excellent use of parts. It's hard to tell how it really works until you open the lid. Quote
RohanBeckett Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Amazingly realistic.. even when one stops.. and another one 'bumps' it back into action! well done! Are you using standard lego magnets, or did you need to resort to rare-earth ones? RB Quote
Burf2000 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Very nice seen this done a few times, I did plan to do it myself but just got sidetracked lol. I want to try it with LEGO road Quote
pe668 Posted October 12, 2012 Author Posted October 12, 2012 Was this on display at BrisBricks? Yes it was at BrisBricks, BrickExpo and Brickvention this year. Are you using standard lego magnets, or did you need to resort to rare-earth ones? Standard LEGO magnets like those used in the 9volt trains and also the SW star destroyer. Quote
Legoism Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Fantastic, attaching magnets to a long looped chain is a great idea! Quote
pe668 Posted October 18, 2012 Author Posted October 18, 2012 Fantastic, attaching magnets to a long looped chain is a great idea! It might be a little hard to tell but there is actually a 2nd chain underneath that distributes the load. So there is actually two drive points along the long chain with the magnets. Quote
Crtlego Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 This is an excellent idea and well executed as well! I especially like how they always manage to get back on track after bumping into each other.. Quote
