Brainbox Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 But are those small vehicles tripod mecha,or tri-wing fighters?(I hope they're walkers lol) At a guess, walkers. I'm still liking the MX-11. Really, I don't think I said... :-P Quote
Hinckley Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 So can the Jelly alien grow in dark? No, they need sunlight to grow Sorry! I couldn't resist! :-D Quote
xenologer Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Found some Pics of the MM sets hereEnjoy :-) Thanks From those pics, the alien mothership .. doesn't really look like its worth 50$USD.. Its just a bunch of giant slope bricks that snap together. There's no interiour, no special opening compartments, no magnetic arm gimmick, the only thing *close* to an action feature is that it breaks into smaller modules -but we can say that about all Lego's(so it doesnt count). Can that useless nerf gun and pump *really* be taking up so much of the $cost$? :-X I'll buy it when it goes on discount for ... 25$USD, With only 2 astronauts and a buncha useless 'jellies', a couple of the 7693 would be better use of the funds, same slopes, less nerf, more wheels. snefroe Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 thanks sam *sweet* that 6 wheeler looks cool... *sweet* Quote
Brainbox Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Nice. The wings seem to close on the alien fighter, and the box is pretty nice. 4 Astronauts and two aliens isn't bad either, and I like the look of the bike... from what I can see on the box anyway. Quote
Starwars4J Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Nice. The wings seem to close on the alien fighter Well, the weird gems seem to prevent that...I wonder if they're supposed to fit in the chest of the aliens, which is why they're harvested? Quote
snefroe Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Well, the weird gems seem to prevent that...I wonder if they're supposed to fit in the chest of the aliens, which is why they're harvested? well i think there's a hole in their chest but what i remember from yoda's photos, it doesn't fit in there... Kahgarak Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 well i think there's a hole in their chest but what i remember from yoda's photos, it doesn't fit in there... Well,if a Lightsaber blade fits through it,i'm sure that the crystals will too... Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Space? Drilling? Crystals? Sounds familiar... Quote
snefroe Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Well,if a Lightsaber blade fits through it,i'm sure that the crystals will too... i think the chrystal is just supposed to be the power source Quote
Brainbox Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Well, the weird gems seem to prevent that... How? I was looking at the hinges which seem to suggest that the wings can swing forward to create a circle-shape. Quote
Iron Moose Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 How? I was looking at the hinges which seem to suggest that the wings can swing forward to create a circle-shape. Based on how far apart the two hinge plates are and how deep the big black curve bricks are, I think the cricle shape is highly unlikely. 7699 is amazing-looking, though. I love the stacking vehicles concept, and it seems a worthy sucessor to the Multi-Core Magnetizer. I hope the wheels are stable and the drill can stow well. Quote
Brainbox Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Based on how far apart the two hinge plates are and how deep the big black curve bricks are, I think the cricle shape is highly unlikely. No, I doubt it's an actual complete circle, but rather a general circular/oval/eliptical shape. Quote
snefroe Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 (edited) No, I doubt it's an actual complete circle, but rather a general circular/oval/eliptical shape. ah now i see what you guys are talking about! the wings clearly do not close full circle. if you close the hinge, the rest of the black wings would overlap with the center structure, at best it would close up to the point where the wing tip touches the center structure. still, it was a nice idea i'm only worried that the plate hinges will not hold once they've been played with for a while. they will lose their strength and automatically close Edited June 4, 2007 by snefroe1 Quote

ExoBuilder Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I have all of the sets and I must say they are amazing! Trust me on this one. Especially the Drilling unit, it's a must buy even if you don't like space. Quote

Hewman Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Well I'm a space nut and I think my opinion of these sets can be best summed up by my buying pattern. I've only bought one set, the 7695, the smallest of the sets and that was purely to have at least one mars mission minifig. The big low points for these sets are firstly the huge amount of stickers, the style and design of several of the sets, the 'story' of the theme, exploitation of aliens, and the colours don't particularly do it for me either. So for this old classic space, space police 1, and blacktron 1 fan, these were a bit of a disappointment. Quote
