KyleJohnson11 Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Not sure where you are coming from on this comment. The MB turtles are nothing like the LEGO turtles. For one thing, the LEGO turtles can actually bue used in something other than a TMNT moc as all the parts are interchangeable just like any minifig. The shell is a separate piece. Agreed. The LEGO versions look much much better than the MB versions!
Hobbestimus Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I own the MB versions and I was so disappointed in them I still ended up making my own custom Lego Turtles (I did swipe the sais and nunchucks from MB, though).
Spider-Man Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I had the MB brand when I was younger too and I can just tell by looking at the LEGO pictures that these going to be far superior. I did like the green goop ooze they gave you in the MB sets
Aanchir Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 My god... I know very little about TMNT, but the fig is awesome-looking and the NYCC skateboard really solidifies this as a memorable souvenir of the event. Hope everyone lucky enough to have this fig really appreciates its value, on a sentimental level as well as in terms of aftermarket value.
Ceroknight Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 What a brilliant figure! Too bad the rest of the turtles will have eyes..I think it works better without them..
Shawn Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I'm just going to sit here and wait for all the Lego Purists who hate on Mega Bloks to comment 'Wow this is great!'. Seem's LEGO is the 'rip off' this time, using an idea that's already been done before it was cool. I also have a set of these with the weapons and I think that they are great!
Jargo Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Urgh, those things are monstrously cheap and nasty looking. Horrible brittle plastic and sloppy sculpting. I'm not anti megabloks but their stuff is basically crap.
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Let's stay on topic people. This is about the LEGO promo figure.
RaincloudDustbin Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Yeah, but what he's saying is that LEGO have copied somebody else's licence for once.
CorneliusMurdock Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Yeah, but what he's saying is that LEGO have copied somebody else's licence for once. Don't argue with me. Seriously. That's not the topic of this thread. Besides, it's a license. MB didn't come up with the idea of ninja turtles. Licenses change hands all the time. No one is copying anyone else.
Faefrost Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Is the mask and shell straps printed, or has TLG finally started doing multicolor injection in the molding?
Darkdragon Posted October 18, 2012 Author Posted October 18, 2012 Is the mask and shell straps printed, or has TLG finally started doing multicolor injection in the molding? It's all printed not injected.
Santaduckz Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 These TMNT Figs are way less ugly than I had expected
just2good Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Nice review 'darkdragon'! This is another awesome promo. I love the NYCC skateboard, and the turtle shell looks great. Can't wait for 2013 TMNT sets.
Bizzy78 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Im so looking forward to these little turtles.
Oky Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Hi Darkdragon! Sorry to bump this thread, but I was wondering if you (or anyone else who has this fig) could do me a favor and take a picture of it straight from the front on a white background? I would like to make another one of my dark and light side pictures, but I couldn't find a good pic of this fig anywhere. So if anyone with a decent camera could do this for me I would really appreciate it and of course give credit.
Gooker1 Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I'm hoping they release the other turtles this way. Feels weird being just Leo.
