Blakbird Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 While we fighting S&H, Designers blog was updated with information about 4 2h2013 catalogued models. You can found there information about "who design 42000, 42005, 42008?" Their post says that one of the features they gave the Monster Truck is AWD! It is actually Zero Wheel Drive. Quote
andythenorth Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Their post says that one of the features they gave the Monster Truck is AWD! It is actually Zero Wheel Drive. They've also said the same about the 420008 Service Truck, which isn't true either. This kind of factual mistake in TLG written material is pretty common. I find it strange. TLG have very high quality and customer service standards, very high design standards, and an outstanding reputation as an educational toy. Yet there is frequent poor attention to detail in product descriptions. I don't mean little semantic differences over technical terms or country-specific names of machinery etc - this is stuff some people care about intensely, but just isn't that important. However some of the mistakes in product descriptions are borderline lies, or at best misleading and very likely to cause disappointment to builders - whether children or adults. I don't know if these violate trade description legislation, but some people in some countries might think so. Spelling and grammar mistakes in written materials are also easy to find, and similarly don't fit with TLG's overall identity (although I accept English isn't a first language for most TLG designers, and I'd rather have designer blogs which are less-than-perfect than no designer blogs because copy-editing is too expensive). Maybe I'm just being really boring about this, and it's off-topic anyway, but there's my 2p cheers, Andy Quote
Meatman Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 So still no news on this 42003 Action Race Car yet? Quote
EyesOnly Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I think it said in this or some other thread that 42003 was a placeholder for the Boss crawler. Not sure if that is confirmed though. Quote

N-4K0 Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Ordered a copy of 42009 on Friday after signing up on lego.com. Got an email yesterday saying it's been shipped, and I've got 189 VIP points in Got a question though - if I remember correctly, the info said the shipping would take 5 to 10 days, excluding holidays. Does that mean 5 to 10 days + transport being still at Saturdays and Sundays? Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Shipment is usually 5-10 workdays. Unless you live in the same country as where it is sent from..... f.i. My 41999 was sent from Zwolle (the Netherlands) on augustus 2nd and arrived on saturday 3rd (Not a workday, but a buisinessday for my postalservice) Quote
N-4K0 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 So, it means I can "add" Saturdays and Sundays to the shipping time? 5 - 10 days + weekend days? Quote
Sato Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Yes and no, While the long distance trucks will drive on Sunday's your delivery guy probably won't. Therefore if your parcel arrives at your local distribution center on Saturday It won't be offered at your door until Monday or Tuesday (Depends on the workdays of the delivery service.) Quote
N-4K0 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I will have to pick it up at my local post office due to the size the box will have. But alright, I expected a delivery later than Friday to be alerted and/or due to pick up on Monday. But I can wait a few extra days. Thanks for the info. Quote
skriblez Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 If it comes with Posten you might have to wait over the weekend even if it comes on a Thursday, DHL/UPS and all those deliver at all kinds of strange times and days. Have got things on my door on a sunday :S Quote
N-4K0 Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 When I've ordered Technic sets from lekmer.no, which is the web store I've used, I've been alerted via sms on Fridays if the package arrived in my town on Friday morning. And it's always been regular packages. Quote

If I knew about this site before I ordered 42009 from S@H, I would have gone there instead! Seems to be a very god deal to purchase from coolshop. Quote
skriblez Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Coolshop was cheap. Nothing fishy about it? Quote
EyesOnly Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 That price when converted to SEK is similar to what i paid in Sweden from a different retailer so no i don't think it's fishy. BTW it sucks that the crane was only about 300 SEK more expensive than 9398. Then again lots of people buy it from S@H something i would never do unless i was really rich. Quote
N-4K0 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 (edited) I got my 42009 today! building will start shortly! I don't know, the prices at coolshop are very nice, but they're so cheap compared to S@H that I just automatically become suspicious... EDIT: - Been building for roughly 8 hours, including sorting the 1-bags. Day 1 is finished by attaching the Dark Grey 15L beam with the rear lights, and the black gear for the HoG steering. EDIT 2: August 14. - Day 2 of the 42009 build started just after 4pm at my time zone, 3pm by the forum clock. Been building for 1 hour 15 min, just attached the front outriggers and lined up the front axle steering. Just about to start on book 3. - Small update: after 3,5 hours of building, I've now finished the undercarriage. Going for a break. - Day 2 is over. After a total of 7,5 hours including sorting the 2-bags, I'm done with book 5, and the superstructure is finished and attached to the undercarriage. EDIT 3: August 15. - Day 3 of the 42009 build is starting right now. - After 2 hours, the boom is finished and attached to the superstructure, and it's ready for testing! Total time spent - 17,5 hours. Edited August 15, 2013 by Error404 Quote

N-4K0 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I noticed that small sets like 9390 and 42001 are a bit more expensive on coolshop, but the large sets are insanely much cheaper. I too will use them from now on. Quote
