Overall I like these sets.

The designs of the flyers are quite cool, and some of the vehicles have great MOC potential.

However...

TLC should really get rid of all these user opperated guns. Disck launchers, spring missile launchers etc. They don't work half the time and does nothing to enhance the look of the models.

I actually can't vote, because all of the options are too extreme. If anything I'd give it 7/10, but I honestly don't think it deserves anything that high. I think it's more in the 5/10 range. Good start, going in the right direction, but really not there yet for a theme. I believe this would be a good jumping point back into classic space (in intent), so if this theme has limited (but noticeable) success, then it will let TLG know they did something wrong, but are headed in the right direction.

7/10, mostly good. The Aliens and their spacecraft may be weird, but I see some potential in them, especially after clearer images surface. And the Humans? Asside from the base part of the base, pretty darn awesome. The Armored Drilling unit, lander craft, and the rocket in the base all are SWEET, and the others are pretty good. I see this line doing okay, actually. ;-)

AMEN! That is the one thing I really don't like about this line. *n*

BTW, looks like the forum is split on this theme so far. I predict it will stay that way for the entire lifespan of this theme. :-/

P.s. Guess which forum won't allow the Summer 2007 pictures yet? *coughbzpcough*

same here, Im not into them covering all of their models in zamor launcers or disk shooters or these crappy new revolving nerf guns!

I really only like the blunt shooters becuse they pack a real punch and they are the only weapons that realy work!

Thank the brick Lord we havnt seen the return of those Ruhtooka spinners! *y*

Its not that hard to remove the shooter devices, since they are generally 1-piece things. and replace with a MOCed gun...

So they dont affect my opinion of the rest of the line that much...

Anyhows... this is a Poll thread... all these comments should probly be merged into the Pictures/Discussion thread... if a Mod would like to...

the first three would have loocked good whitout the minifigs i think. the second looks like the dropship from alien but the moment you add the minifig to the cocpit its way to small to act as such

Went for mostly bad (3/10) - G thats a surprise :-D For my comments, read the other thread hehe I'm far too lazy to copy/paste them here :-P

Also I will move this to the Space forum, out of those Mecha fans :-D

You should have put a 5/10 option. I think they are about equal good and equal bad.

This is quite a strange rating poll. Personally I'd have used a scale of 0 to 5, with 5 being "great, all the way" and 0 "bad all the way".

no not really. any marketeer will tell you to avoid the "neutral zone", the area where a respondent doesn't make a clear choice, wich is usually 5/10 or "i don't know". with this poll i'm actually asking to make a choice. sure, it'll lead to more extreme results, but usually you get a better idea of how people really feel towards the subject you're investigating, in this case, the space sets...

3/10 - some cool elements...hard to say with those blurry pics. Maybe I'll buy some of them...maybe not. It's still hard to say. If the figs are awesome and they change the entire colour scheme, well, then it's a different story X-D :-P ;-)

The only sets i dont aprove of are the *alien* sets As far as i can tell their just Battle droids painted green! Besides there were no aliens in Armegedon!

Totally with you on that one! :-| why evan paint them green in the first place? What was Lego thinking!

What do You mean? No aliens in Armageddon (yes that's how it's spelled ;-) )

So?!? There's aliens in this LEGO theme - it's not the same thing.

the results as for now don't look all that good. I'm curious to see if it's going to change once people have had the chance to buy and build them.

Does this mean you're going to make an "after" poll to complement this "before" one?

can an admin move this topic to the space/mecha forum please. for some reason, I can't seem to move it myself...

I sure can!

But I'm wondering about the poll choices - wouldn't it be more logical to have a 1 to 5 rating system rather than what's there now?

If someone wanted to rate the sets 5 out of 10 which is 50% or C grade, it can't be done.

well as i said before, 50% is no choice at all, it's not good or bad, it's neutral. I want people to make a choice and not hide out in the neutral zone.
