"If you guys had to say who killed Mandric, who would you think did it?"

8083329927_e329376eb6_t.jpg

"That bearded man in your party. I saw him standing over the body."

8083329799_f2c1193efb_t.jpg

"Probably sir Helmer since he never got along with sir Mandric, but I got no evidence for that."

8083323954_bcfe805ded_t.jpg

"Maybe Ansar. He never liked sir Mandric much and he has a bad temper when provoked."

8083323096_ff566b7baa_t.jpg

"Fat Mats could have done it. He is good with knifes and maybe he was mad that sir Mandric keeps drinking all his beer."

Could novices describe the relationship between Jorke and Mandric?

8083329799_f2c1193efb_t.jpg

"They don't really talk much. I think they know that neither one of them likes the other and therefore tries to interact as little as possible."

Haldor stepped forward.

"Sira, what was your opinion of Mandric? Did you speak to him often? How 'close' would you say you were?"

8083329927_e329376eb6_t.jpg

"I don't want to talk to you!"

Sira hides behind Najdalena.

8083329799_f2c1193efb_t.jpg

"Stay back! If Sira doens't want to talk to you you have to accept that."

"Oh bloody hell! Can't anyone see that I'm trying to solve this?! Can't you all see?! Oh go on take your stupid bloody fears, see where that gets you! Why do I even care?"

Haldor throws his hands up and turns away from the others. Filled with frustration and anger, his face a mask of rage, the shadow of something nasty on his face. The nord is flashed with an anger he has harldy felt before, and he cannot control himself as he swings for the bedpost and flips a table. Before anyone else can realise what has happened, Haldor is gone, leaving a trail of dirt in his wake.

Cronk apologizes for friend's behavior. It has been a long day for everyone. Cronk hopes this matter is cleared up shortly so every being here can get back to regular life.

Sira, did Mandric ever hurt Sira in any way or give unwanted advances? Also, Sira has what looks to be a bit of dirt on Sira's face. Is it dirt or an injury?

"He never hurt me, but I had this uncomfortable feeling whenever he was around. I wouldn't like to have been left alone with him, but luckily that never happened.

The mark on my chin is from when I was training with sir Helmer the day before yesterday. He doesn't hold back even during practice."

Sira, how close is Sira to Jorke? What does Sira know of Jorke personally?

Also, which novices here are left handed? Do novices know who could be left handed on staff? Are any novices particularly fond of Jorke?

Friends, Cronk is trying to refresh Cronk's memory about a few things.

She can see that the knife, which has an inscription with the letters M.M. on the hilt, is stuck deep in sir Mandric's throat, and comes to the conclusion that he must've died quickly. He also has some bruises on the left wrist, like someone had grabbed a tight hold on it. The body smells heavily of alcohol and blood, but the amount of blood on the floor is surprisingly small and when Alexis looks closer she can see that a lot of it trickled down between the mosaic plates of the floor. There seems to be much space underneath.

Killer seems to have grabbed hold of Mandric's left wrist with killer's right hand and slit Mandric's throat with knife in left hand. That would take a good deal of force. Cronk will conjecture that killer was left handed.

The paper on the wall appears to be an old letter:

Dear brother,

Thank you for your letter, I read it to mother and I think she enjoyed it. She has gotten much worse lately and our local cleric says he can't do anything more than he already has. I hope this letter reaches you in time so that you can get here as soon as possible. I know that your healing skills are inferior to none and you are the only one that could save mother now.

Please hurry.

Love,

your sister

The paper on the desk reads:

From the stock:

1 Grand potion to visitor

Jorke mentioned that Jorke served in 2nd battalion before coming here. Same battalion that Mandric commanded. And several people here have mentioned that Jorke disliked and avoided Mandric. Cronk wonders what the healer's history with Mandric could be.

Framed letter seems odd. Friends should figure out if Jorke made it to mother in time to save mother and if not, why not.

Jorke mentions beings by name who took potions from Jorke's stock. Why is grand potion taker simply "visitor"?

The more Cronk thinks about it, the more Cronk finds healer suspicious. Alexis, what was Jorke like last night? Jorke's mood? Did Jorke say anything about Mandric?

"Guys, I've been reviewing events myself."

The dirt on the floor is still a little wet and Haldor can see some footprints in it. The owner of the footprints clearly uses boots in the size 1x1 stud.

"I think this could be important. There are only a few people that are really outside."

The party doubles back down the stairs and out through the door that the mud tracks where leading to. Just outside the door they step in a muddy puddle.

Next to a vegetable patch there is a small shed and a pile of manure. The gardener Ansar is working with the vegetables when he sees the heroes coming.

"Notice that there's a muddy puddle back there."

"I think, Cronk, that is would just have to be a strong person, not necessarily a left handed one. That was me, he gave the potion to. Jorke seemed like every time we've talked with him so far. Helmer, did say that Mandric would regret breaking his arm though."

"So here's the list again. I think every weak person is off the list now. Personally, I think it's either Helmer or Ansar. Sine they both are outside."

Pristess Mandrea

Ansar

Jorke

Sir Helmer

Fat Mats

Najdalena

Sira

Jossin

Emiria

Alexis

Cronk

Haldor

No, Alexis, throat was cut in such a way to be with left hand. Looking back, Cronk thinks Ansar is right handed. Helmer fought with sword in right hand.

Cronk believes there is more history between Jorke and Mandric than has been revealed. Cronk strongly believes that is what friends have overlooked.

Novices don't seem to be answering questions. Cronk would also like some sort of confirmation about Jorke's past with Mandric before outright accusation. But Cronk has strong feeling this is right direction. Perhaps seeing if Jorke is with priestess to answer questions first.

Any other Novice have same uncomfortable feeling when around Mandric?

8083329799_f2c1193efb_t.jpg

"Maybe a little."

8083323954_bcfe805ded_t.jpg

"No, not really."

8083323096_ff566b7baa_t.jpg

"Not at all."

8083329927_e329376eb6_t.jpg

"He's our cleric and teacher, I don't really know much more about him except he served in one of the battalions before. I wouldn't say we are close but he is the one of the staff that knows most about the life of a cleric and can be good to talk to when you have personal problems. Priestess Mandrea is also nice but a bit to spirituel, Jorke is more down to earth and can give good advices.

I think Emiria and Jorke are the only left handed here at the convent."

8083323096_ff566b7baa_t.jpg

"Yup, that's right!"

The party then returns to the sancturay where they meet with the priestess.

8083324750_0c25bbc351_t.jpg

"Have you got a suspect yet? I'm afraid we won't have much time before Mandric's 2nd Battalion will be here."

Posted

Cronk believes Jorke might be the killer. Cronk believes killer was left handed and Jorke is only left handed person here strong enough to commit the murder. Does priestess know what happened between Jorke and Mandric while in 2nd battalion together?

Posted

8083324750_0c25bbc351_t.jpg

"By the Light! Jorke? If it's true then it's awful, I've trusted Jorke completely through all these years. I never knew that Jorke and Mandric served together but now that you say so it seems to make sense. Jorke came to us shortly after Mandric had joined the 2nd battalion, my brother was just a young officer at that time. I have no idea what could have happened between those two at that time, but if it's true what you say, sir Cronk, it must have been something really bad if Jorke still had it in his mind after all these years."

Posted

"Yes we do believe it's him. What would you like us to do?"

8083324750_0c25bbc351_t.jpg

"We mustn't let him suspect anything. Go and tell him to bring the verita pill he got to my office. I will be waiting there together with Ansar and Fat Mats, they are strong men that will be able to hold down Jorke if he should get violent. Don't let him escape on the way! If he suspects something he might have a trick up his sleeve."

Posted

"You got it Mandrea." Alexis leads Cronk to Jorke, relays Mandrea's message, then heads to her office.

Let's do it one thing at the time, things might happen when you interact with people.

No one knows where Haldor has gone off to so Alexis and Cronk walk over to the study where they find Jorke:

8083330707_83bcb28377_t.jpg

"Oh, you are back? Did you forget something?"

Posted

8083330707_83bcb28377_t.jpg

"Oh my, are you sure? Ah well, it doesn't matter, with my verita pill we will be sure soon. I have it in my office over at the private rooms section. While we are walking there, would you mind telling me who the suspect is and how did you find out who it was?"

The cleric and the two heroes walks over towards Jorke's office.

Hallways echo. If killer were to overhear, killer could flee before friends have pill interrogation in place.

Friend Haldor! Haldor can come back now! See? Hallways echo.

8083330707_83bcb28377_t.jpg

"Hm, your friend doesn't seem to hear you. Maybe the echo isn't such a big deal after all."

Jorke, Alexis and Cronk enters the cleric's office while Haldor is still missing.

8163994314_3c723eaa07.jpg

8083330707_83bcb28377_t.jpg

"Now lets see, I have the pill right here... What? It's gone! I'm certain I left it here on the cabinet, but it isn't there! Quick, help me look for it!"

The cleric get down on his knees and starts searching the floor.
