Scorpiox Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Haldor raised an eyebrow at Alexis' news. "So these two were running a black-market operation, and Mandric found out? I think that we ought to pay Chef and Ansar a visit, see what we can turn up. I would be worth speaking to Helmer as well, ask him what exactly they argued about, and what else we can recover." The Nord ran a hand through his hair, this was all very vexing indeed. He turned toward the Priestess and sighed deeply. "Priestess, do you think that we could visit your brother's room?"
Etzel Posted November 4, 2012 Author Posted November 4, 2012 Cronk talks to Priestess. Priestess, Mandric's views clashed directly with those of Helmer's. Has Priestess never seen two men fighting? "They fought of course in the training ground, but that's just normal. The loser in those fights could become a bit annoyed but it was nothing that didn't settle over night." The Nord ran a hand through his hair, this was all very vexing indeed. He turned toward the Priestess and sighed deeply. "Priestess, do you think that we could visit your brother's room?" "Yes, if you think it will help you in your investigation. I can't come with you, I need to inform the staff and the novices what has happened. But all the rooms are open for you and if you need any help I will probably be in the study with cleric Jorke." Priestess Mandrea leaves the sanctuary through the north-west corridor.
Masked Builder Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 "Alright my friends, let's head to his room."
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Agreed. Checking Mandric's room might give friends better idea of where to proceed next.
Etzel Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 The heroes leave the sanctuary and walks into the north-east corridor leading towards the private rooms of the House of Ennoc's Children (here is the post with the map). They can see an empty bottle and some dirt near the door.
Scorpiox Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) Haldor strolls over and carefully picks up the empty glass bottle. With his excellent experiance of drinking all kinds of alcohol liquids in his travels, he sniffs the bottle to determine what kind of drink or other substance that formerly resided in the bottle. "Looks like someone passed this way, and judging by the bottle just strewn accross the floor, in some fair state. I'll go and look by the door to see if it is locked, or if there are any signs of forced entry." While he is inspecting the door, Haldor takes a glance at the dirt on the floor, to see if it is wet or dry, and if there are any recognisable bootprints in the mud. While he is inspecting the door, Haldor takes a glance at the dirt on the floor, to see if it is wet or dry, and if there are any recognisable bootprints in the mud. Haldor sniffs the bottle and smells the familiar scent of beer. The door is unlocked and has no sign of violence. The dirt on the floor is still a little wet and Haldor can see some footprints in it. The owner of the footprints clearly uses boots in the size 1x1 stud.
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Why would mud just be by door? Cronk would like to examine the walls to see if any secret passageways exist here.
Masked Builder Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 "Well the chef left the kitchen through the back door, so that may be mud from him. Or it could be from the gardener. Let's head inside the room."
Etzel Posted November 6, 2012 Author Posted November 6, 2012 Why would mud just be by door? Cronk would like to examine the walls to see if any secret passageways exist here. Cronk finds no signs of any secret doors. "Well the chef left the kitchen through the back door, so that may be mud from him. Or it could be from the gardener. Let's head inside the room." The party moves inside the door and find a new corridor with 3 doors and a stairway.
Scorpiox Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 "It looks like the mud trail leads from that doorway over there, so someone must have come through this way from outside. I say that we check the stairway and all of the rooms one by one, so that we can be sure of any clues to the fate of Sir Mandric. Shall we investigate the stairway first?" Haldor takes a few steps toward the spiral staircase and waves for his friends to follow.
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Cronk doesn't know, Haldor. Maybe friends should check rooms on this floor first. Then party won't have to double back later.
Masked Builder Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 "I'm inclined to agree with Cronk. Let's head in that room on the left."
Etzel Posted November 7, 2012 Author Posted November 7, 2012 The heroes go up to the left door which says "Priestess' office" on it and walk in:
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Cronk will examine bottle. Does this look the same as one from hallway?
Scorpiox Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 "I looks like our drinking friend passed this way, I'll take a look int the bookcase and in the drawers for anything of interest."
Etzel Posted November 7, 2012 Author Posted November 7, 2012 Cronk will examine bottle. Does this look the same as one from hallway? The bottle looks the same as the one the Haldor found in the hallway, and it smells like Haldor too. "I looks like our drinking friend passed this way, I'll take a look int the bookcase and in the drawers for anything of interest." Haldor searches the bookcase and drawers and finds lot of interesting stuff, assuming one is interested in theological scripts, economic records of the convent, academic policies, quills and inc bottles.
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 What about economic records? Was House in debt or missing money for an unknown reason? Cronk will look at the records to see.
Etzel Posted November 7, 2012 Author Posted November 7, 2012 What about economic records? Was House in debt or missing money for an unknown reason? Cronk will look at the records to see. Cronk starts to look at the economic records, but everything seems to be in order. Cronk feels that he will soon start to lose health if he has to continue reading this painfully boring document.
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Cronk has endured worse! But Cronk supposes there is nothing to find in document. Cronk will see if window is able to be open and if person could fit through it.
Etzel Posted November 7, 2012 Author Posted November 7, 2012 Cronk has endured worse! But Cronk supposes there is nothing to find in document. Cronk will see if window is able to be open and if person could fit through it. The window does open, but it is too small for a person to climb through.
Masked Builder Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Alexis examines the bottles on the shelf, and then reads the titles of the books.
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Is letter on desk same one that friends delivered?
Etzel Posted November 7, 2012 Author Posted November 7, 2012 Alexis examines the bottles on the shelf, and then reads the titles of the books. The red bottle seems to be filled with some sort of sweets. The orange ones has a label that says "Headache pills". The titles of the books are: The Teaching of Meditation by Priest Arbun From faith to thought - a study in the Light by Albullius the Wise The Ennoc Code by Dan Reddish-Brown Is letter on desk same one that friends delivered? It is.
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Cronk is conflicted. Letter could be important clue but Cronk would not want to break priestess's trust.
