efferman Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) it is a bit wobbly, because the body is much higher than the original. the following picture shows the maximum angle to the side before it falls over. 101_9806 von efferman auf Flickr now the maximum chassis flex. please note that there is no collission of the tires with the fenders 101_9807 von efferman auf Flickr Edited October 15, 2012 by efferman Quote
Blakbird Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 This is a spectacular mod to the original model! My only complaint is that the stock tires look way too small with this massive body. Power Puller tires (or aftermarket R/C tires) I'm sure would look much better. Do you have some PP tires you could use for a photo? Quote
efferman Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 unfortunately i dont own power pullers, but i haver made a picture with my ansmanns 101_9808 von efferman auf Flickr btw, my power switch 101_9810 von efferman auf Flickr Quote
Tim S. Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Well done! With the ansmanns it looks much better. And the power switch is a nice feature, too! Tim Quote
hrontos Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 When I saw the teasers, I was really wondering how the front will look like, because already the rear lights looked far better from the standard lights on most models (1x1 round plates :-(). The front really exceeded my expectations. The details and the way you used the flex axles are really impressive. I never used flex parts that way, so it is also a good inspiration for me. The only complain I have is the color scheme. The designer in me likes the scheme as it matches the design style a lot. The commercial part of me however finds this scheme a bit sad. I wonder how the white/red version would look like - something like offroad ambulance or mountain rescue service. With some aditional spotlights on the rear and some trans-blue flash lights on the top, rear, front grille etc. Quote
efferman Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) i think the colour sheme is one thing which is not perfect. mybe could someone which is familiar wit photoshop, can try some different colour combinations to see which is the best. and then i can think about some additional optical gimmicks Edited October 15, 2012 by efferman Quote
hrontos Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 ... wit photoshop, can try some different colour combinations to see which is the best. I would really like to see the rescue/ambulance version in white/red with the engine hood being probably white. With some red crosses and Hipocrates snake stickers. For the ambulance the rear door probably need to be vertical, but it is not important. Quote
efferman Posted October 21, 2012 Author Posted October 21, 2012 a ambulance would look good too, but i think someone else will win. but anyway, i have made a short vid of it Quote
DLuders Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 (edited) @ efferman: I like how you access the PF Battery Box. In your video, are you using rechargeable AA batteries or Alkaline batteries? Do you think there is a way of adding additional stiffeners to the chassis/body attachment points, so that the body does not lean so much on sidehills? Edited February 23, 2013 by DLuders Quote
efferman Posted October 21, 2012 Author Posted October 21, 2012 (edited) thanks iam using fully loaded eneloops and i think the performance is good. adding more springs is not possible i think, because it would be a deep change on the chassis and this would be against the rules edit: my panel van weights 2035grams, how heavy is the stock 9398? Edited October 21, 2012 by efferman Quote
DLuders Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 @ efferman: I don't have a scale in my house to measure my 9398, but in this post, Traktor reports that the Shipping Weight of the 9398 box is 2.3Kg (5.07 lb) -- the same as the 8297 box. One would have to consider the weight of 6 ea. AA batteries. Does anybody else have a digital scale to measure the 9398 A-model's weight? Quote
efferman Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 someone asked me about an instruction, and now iam ready with making pictures here are some steps now sorting the pictures and making a parts list btw parts: the have a weight of 978 grams Quote
efferman Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) the full instruction (without partslist) is available here, when the brickshelf folder is moderated. the partlist will come when i have made the ldd model Edited February 20, 2013 by efferman Quote
efferman Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 i trying a new type of instruction, could you pleas say your opinion about it? new parts are coloured, other parts are transparent so, what do you think? Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) I think it's very good to see where the new parts must go to, but whe are AFOL's and no kids and the extra work from you is to much, your other instuction's were good to follow and the new one can olso be made by kids Edited February 20, 2013 by VFracingteam Quote
efferman Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 whats wrong when a instruction is easy to follow? Quote
Ramacco Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 @ Efferman: The instructions look very well made. I think providing such decent instructions takes a lot of time and effort. However, everyone around the world will be able to build your excellent MOC. I think what VFracingteam tries to say is that we, AFOLS, don't need such detailed instructions, since we 'know' the pieces and techniques. But for beginners and kids it isn't that obvious at all. Good work so far, keep it up! Quote
efferman Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 a little question, on which picture is it better to see where the new parts are placed? Quote
AndroTech Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I agree with Zblj, second one is much better. Quote
efferman Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 good then it was worth to beginn again. Quote
