At long last, the final snake's head was about to be cut... Eidolon hangs on for dear life, his face bloodied by the giant chunks of rubble repelled into it. The party enters the final round of this bloodbath nearly unscathed, ready to deal the killing blow... "How? HOW? You are humans! Weak creatures, alive only to be destroyed!" Emperor Eidolon, Level 39 Ancient *Fragile! For the rest of the battle.* HP: 113/1200 SP: 0 *Impenetrable! Defense can only be lowered and pierced by rubble.* Ether: 10/70 Specials: Emperor's Wrath: Attacks the hero who rolled Special Damage for damage equal to the combined level of every single hero on the field. They ground grew closer and closer - the Proggs on the ground look up at their quite dead ruler, and trade looks of concern. Realizing that any of them could land anywhere in the crowd, and that their ruler was in his last moments, they flee. They run away ina ripple formation, a circular gap growing bigger and bigger in the crowd until the courtyard was stripped of all of its occupants. Galen, his eyes resolute and his hadn steady, lobs his wrench masterfully at the remaining pieces of rubble. The impact of the tool proves to be just enough, the heavy rocks going hurtling into Eidolon. Blood jets out as these last few pieces of deflected rubble nearly broke his face grid. He reels backwards, his body being tossed around in the wind erratically. The storm seems to hush, the Emperor's body going numb. he glances up and gives one last hateful glance at the heroes; he tries to speak, but his body and words fail him. No banter was neccasary, however - one glance into the creature's maddened eyes told the heroes all they needed to know: hate. The Emperor felt nothing but hate and anger in his final moments. He plummets to the ground, hitting the ground with an earth-quaking thud. A cloud of dust rises from the impact, the Emperor's collosol body leaving a crater of sorts in the courtyard. His carapace cracks in half and his tail lies limp, bent and twisted at unnatural angles. The Emperor would get no last words, for he did not deserve them. Eidolon... was dead. A story away from the ground, the party braces themselves for impact... but suddenly, a familiar purple blur rushes past them. Dini and his carpet, with Roni still on board. "Grab on, lads!" Almost insticntively the party reaches for the nearest thing around them. Some clutch the carpet's singed backside, while other grab the feet of the heroes dangling off of the carpet. They form what looked like a second tail for the carpet, streaming behind it as it gracefully glided downwards. The heroes let go when they are a safe distance, suffering an eight foot drop instead of an eight story one. The carpet lands and its two occupants hop off, Dini going over to the Emperor's dead body. After only one day, the Monarch's reign was cut short - and with it, his life. The fall ha djarred some itmes from his personage, 2 of which being Dini's trademark dual wands. He scoops them up and smiles, glad to have his two favorite tools back. The entire party looks solemnly over the Emperor's corpse. Eidolon's corpse was a pitiful sight. Lined with battle wounds and caked in blood, only stumps and fragments remained where his limbs once were. His face grid was practically shattered, dead eyes staring out from a bruised shell. The storm had passified with Eidolon's demise, now just a light trickle. Rain runs down the heroes' faces as they look at the beast, knowing that they had triumphed at long last. Romulus looks on at the fallen beast, sweat running down his face. Combry's persistent humming softens as he absorbs the scene; after this collosal brawl, he felt himself ready to tackle a new job class. Roni turns innocently to Dini, and asks a question. "Did we do it, Unca Dini?" "I think we did, Roni..." Dini looks at the Emperor's corpse then back to the yonu child. He smiles. "I think we finally did. But thank the heroes for this great feat, not I for this one! Ha ha!" Hal silently goes over to Eidolon's corpse. He puts the palm of his hand on the black, fleshy stump of the Emperor's arm. He lifts his hand off after some time, and turns to everyone else in the courtyard. he takes one last glance into the creature's dead eyes, and concludes: "No pulse." Hal nearly keels over from relief, though he tries not to show it. He uses his halberd as a means of supporting his weary body. "He's... he's dead. I think this is finally over, heroes. We... we won. I can't thank you enough for all of this, heroes. Were it not for you, who knows? Luosh may have already succumbed by now, and perhaps even Eubric would have suffered these creature's wrath. Sylph, Johon, Elgar, Galen, Romulus, Alex, and Punii... thank you all." Hal takes a look into the starry sky, as if the souls of the innocents who lost their lives in this genocide would be there. But with Eidolon's demise, it was all finally over... All heroes gain EXP. Party Leader, please distribute the loot. 600 gold. They're up to no good I'm sure. We'd better find out what's going on in the city." OoC: Oh wait, the smoke bomb is still in my inventory. But I believe I have used Bomb XX so it should be removed. Dannylonglegs Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 "Does anyone want this hide?" "Well, your hide may be more useful to Johon who can't make complete use of his own, which he could give to Elgar if all parties would be willing." Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 "Elgar, I'd like my Garnet back, Johon you can have the hide, in return for your Meteor Blade or 150 gold? Do we have a deal?" Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Elgar hands back any items that have been lent to him. "I am also willing to sell scroll of poisoning for 200 gold if anyone wants it." Quote

"I would, but 200's pretty steep, and the cost of ether versus the effect makes it pretty iffy in my book. I'm not saying your price isn't a fair one for the scroll. It's a pretty good deal, but I don't need it or really want it as much as, say, a scroll of weakening. Thanks for the offer, but I'll decline." Quote
