Endgame Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 With the blacksmith and tow, the party returns to where they burned the web. The Elder, Morxes, Lyrol, and the Acolytes accompany them there. They were all careful when they were corssing back over the Trial grounds, but eventually they made it. "I appreciate you for trying to find the rest of my family, but... don't worry too much about it. You've returned my children to me, and that is more than enough for this spider right now. " "Thanks for freeing our elder." "best of luck on your journey: give that regret eye a black eye for us, hm?" Morxes and Lyrol look a little teary. "I... I think we'll be staying here, heroes. At our home. With our dad." "...Can you *sniffle* tell Ayla for us?" "Of course, you two! I'll *wheeze* miss you guys - be sure to visit sometime when this catastrophe is over, alright?" The grouchy blacksmith seems irked over this entire exchange. Spending that much time in a cage as probably made him more bitter than usually. "This is all very touching, but... let's go." And with that, the party trekked to the Blacksmith's shoppe. The party helps the old man carry out some of his equipment: Johon, Lycan, and Galen carry an especially heavy anvil, Sylph and Elgar carry some display posts, and Adam carries his forging hammer and some weapons.Arriving at the Town hall, and with no Ayla in sight, the burdened party heads in. Finding a nice, empty corner, they set down their things and watch as the old man scurries about, setting them all up. After he was done, wiping the sweat off their brow, Adam scrawls something on a scrap piece of paper. He hands it to the heroes. "Consider this your reward for pulling my rump outta the furnace. Thanks." Writ of Blacksmith Service - The owner of this document may obtain 1 free weapon upgrade at Anwyl Smokebeard's/Adam Envill's Smithy. Value: Debatable. "Now then... my services are the same as most other blacksmiths, but here is a refresher." Upgrade a weapon (+1 WP): Any weapon can be upgraded with this service, adding one point to its power per upgrade. Each upgrade costs the amount of WP the weapon has after the upgrade times ten. For example, when a Sword (WP: 3) is upgraded to a Sword (WP: 4), it costs 40 gold. When an Axe (WP: 6) is upgraded to an Axe (WP: 7), it costs 70 gold. You can also upgrade the SP of shields this way. You can order several upgrades for your weapon, but the costs will stack. For example, upgrading a Mace (WP: 3) to a Mace (WP: 5) will cost {40 + 50 =} 90 gold. Merge a weapon with an elemental gem: You need a weapon and an elemental gem for this service. Merging the gem will give the weapon all the elemental attributes of the used gem, but the gem itself will not be available to use anymore. This service costs 50 gold. The merging can be undone to get the gem back, but it will cost another 50 gold. Multiple gems can be imbued into one weapon, but they all need to be merged separately. Mythrilize weapons (+10 WP): You need a weapon and some Mythril, which is a very rare item, for this service. Forging the weapon with Mythril will increase its power by ten points, but the Mythril will be expended. This can only be done once to any weapon. This service costs 100 gold. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Do all of us get 1 writ each? And can Combrys be upgraded? Quote
Endgame Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 (edited) "Nope, just one writ for all of ya. And yes that fine-looking blade you got can definitely be upgraded." Edited November 26, 2012 by Endgame Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 I vote we let Alexandre upgrade his. And I wish to sell my sword of the croise. Quote
Bricksandparts Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 OoC: The funeral and calling hours will be held on Thursday.-Friday. For now, I'll try to post some. "I vote that we should keep it until the end of the quest, that way if we get any better weapons we could use it on that or just give it to one of us for them to choose when to use it. Strategically, we would first want to get upgrades until we don't want to get any more." Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 I vote me or alexandre. Combrys will allow me seriously powerful strikes. Quote
Endgame Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 QM Note: Good to see you back on board so quickly, B&P. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 (OoC: Combrys is WP 9 at the moment. Lycan's last hit was a success.) "I agree with Johon. Let's not use it just yet. I also think it should go to either Lycan or Alex. Both possess powerful artifacts that could pose even more of a threat their enemies with a good touch-up. For now though, let's see what the future has in store in terms of using the free-coupon." Quote
Endgame Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 QM Note: Combrys drops back to it's base WP at the end of the battle. Quote
Fugazi Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 "Good. I have a feeling that we will require your services before this is over, Adam. Keep safe. Unless anyone feels like having work done on their weapons, I suggest we drop by the Toxic Burrow -- there may be new intelligence waiting for us." Quote
Bricksandparts Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 OoC: Sorry if I am repeating what people have already pointed out earlier, I just got back on and haven't had time to read over what has been said. Johon suddenly remembered the venom idea. "Would you," Johon asked the Blacksmith, "by any chance be able to imbue a venom into one of our swords or bows? Maybe make it last more battles, I don't know what you could do but if you can do something, then would you perhaps be able to do that for us?" Quote
Endgame Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 "Possible, but it won't be cheap. What type of venom are you talking?" Quote
Fugazi Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Galen cannot help overhearing the conversation between Johon and the blacksmith. "Ooh, a weapon imbued with that most useful Crumbling Venom would be just what I need!" Quote
Endgame Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 (edited) "I'll need 12 Crumbling Venoms to do that. Plus 300 gold. So your tab for that would be... 900 gold. Edited November 27, 2012 by Endgame Quote
Fugazi Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 "Hmm. I will consider it, though I have never held that much gold in my whole life. Maybe the Commerz Bank will agree to a loan? Would imbuing a weapon with Deadly Venom cost 300 gold plus 12 Deadly Venoms?" Quote
Endgame Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 (edited) "Yes. And normal venom I'll need 50. Plus, of course, 300 gold. Also keep in mind that I (or I doubt anyway else for that matter) can't swap the perma-venom when it's there. I hope you really like whatever you're gonna put it on." Not even touching that Plague Venom stuff. Old geezer like me can't take even a drop of that stuff getting near him, nosiree." Edited November 27, 2012 by Endgame Quote
Bricksandparts Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 "Hmm... I actually think that that is worth it. I take it that this will keep the effect on the sword basically forever? How about 150 for the imbuing instead of 300, 300's a bit expensive. Could we make a combination, like some decaying venom and deadly venom so it has combined effects?" Quote
Endgame Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 "It'll last forever, yeah. I can't do both on one blade, sorry. The venoms start mixing and it just gets messy. 300 is a BARGAIN, lad! Do you realize how dangerous it is working with all these toxic chemicals? Though, I guess if you use the Blacksmith's Writ, I can drop down to 150. You'll still need to snag the venom itself, though." Quote
Bricksandparts Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 "I could probably get or make you some safety gloves and equiptment, also Sylph should be able to know the right kind of leaves and stuff for protection against spills and stuff." Quote
Endgame Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 (edited) "It is the fumes, lad. I have to heat venom to imbue it on the blade. During this, it also emits some pretty noxious fumes. I just have a stockpile of remedies I chug during the procedure." Edited November 27, 2012 by Endgame Quote

I just have a stockpile of remedies I chug during the procedure." "Interesting. That makes sense. I, a humble druid, would not be able to afford such a procedure, and nor would I strongly desire that, but my party would be welcome to it. I'll hold onto the coupon for now and distribute it once we've dealt with more Proggs. I think we should pay the Toxiproggs a visit to catch up on the latest intel, and perhaps acquire some more poison." Edited November 27, 2012 by Dannylonglegs Quote
Endgame Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 QM Note: if you still want to make an order at the smithy's, go ahead! I'll just be moving this along to the Toxic Burrow. ~The Toxic Burrow~ Information "I got some new topics, both pretty juicy." Information Topics: -Aquos the Blind -The Gladius Units' Real Names (pt 1) Venoms "Oh, I managed to make 1 more Plague Venom while you guys were out doing whatever in the Murkwood." Venoms for Sale Venom: 8 gold "You don't do away with the classics, y'know?" Deadly Venom: 45 "Don't try drinking this at home, kids." Decaying Venom: 50 gold "Our own exclusive blend! Does 3 damage and subtracts 1 SP each round from any enemy that is poisoned by this stuff." Plague Venom: 120 gold "If the price doesn't knock ya out, the venom certainly will! This is our premium, top-fo-the-line blend. Does 15 damage and -1 SP per round. We only have 4 in stock, but we'll replenish from time to time." Remedy: 12 gold "Yeah, yeah, I know it is more expensive then you are used to. But they are hard to come by, and we need them ourselves sometimes. As embarrassing as this sounds... sometimes we poison ourselves." Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 "Thank you for your offer. We'll probably be back soon." I agree, let's talk to the toxiproggs. "Hmm.. Tell us about Aquos the Blind please." "I'm considering buying a deadly venom. Anythoughts?" Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 "Thank you for your offer. We'll probably be back soon." I agree, let's talk to the toxiproggs. "Hmm.. Tell us about Aquos the Blind please." "I'm considering buying a deadly venom. Anythoughts?" "Indeed. Tell us more of Aquos the Blind, and maybe, if you would, refresh our memories as to the subject of the flying Progg. Also, the true names of the Glados Unit might have some use." Turning to Alex, he added, "for a poison, 'I'd suggest the crumbling, if you can afford it. The Deadly's not bad, but when fighting foes with high SP, you seem to be the only one who can touch them with that blade of yours. Crumbling helps level the playingfield... and then tip it in our favour. Quote
Fugazi Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 "Oh hi, Toxiproggs. I look forward to hearing from you on both of those topics. Would you consider a discount if we were to buy say 12 of your Crumbling Venoms or more?" Quote
