Heroica RPG - Quest #48: Death's Homecoming

Before the party leaves, Johon picks up the defused bomb, perhaps, if need be, the could re-activate the bomb and use it, or if not, sell it to someone that would want it.

"We are not under the service of the Proggs, we are from Heroica and are here to save this city and possibly the future of our world as we know it. These are some recruits of ours, some rebel Proggs."

[Dannylonglegs]

"Ha." grunted Sylph. "Pick yourself up. We're here to destroy their vile empire and push them back to wherever they came from... Those who oppose us and do evil that is. There are those that do not mean harm, like those standing with us. They can do what they wish when this war is over."

[Endgame]

The shaken woman calms down.

"Oh thank goodness! Deep breaths, deep breaths... Okay.

I'm Mrs. Rihts. Our lovely manor has been overran by these... things... for the past two days. My maids have been killed in the green fellow's target practice, my son and daughter are bound and gagged somewhere, and my husband is next on the chopping block! I'm not sure about you, but this is worst then any nightmare I've ever had!"

The woman looks dangerously close to breaking down into a fit of sobbing.

"Don't fear, we are from Heroica! Could we have a lay out of the manor? Maybe we could locate them."

"Well, uh, I'm kinda sorta under house arrest, so I don't really have anything to write with. But, I can do it verbally...

-Up those flights of stairs is an intersection

-My hubbie is in the Ballroom, to the left

-The Master Bedroom is to the right

-Our auxiliary storeroom is straight (there isn't that much important stuff in there, so take what you like.)

"Ahhhh... Most intriguing. Well, let's visit the store room first. Who knows what may be guarding your Husband." Stated Sylph.

"Yes, to the auxiliary room first! We can take all the supplies!"

QM Note: my normal rig is dangerously close to wetting the bed after 8 years... so there may be a day or two in the future where I may not be able to update. Sorry, folks. ;blush:

With their destination chosen, the party marches up the oak steps. They notice that they were plated in gold tile... clearly the name Rihts was not a misnomer. Reaching the intersection, they go straight and open up a door. Heading inside, they find themselves in a dark room. It was slightly dusty, but immaculate nonetheless. the store room is littered with various stands, boxes, safes... and a 3 year old girl...?

She stands in the center room, trying on a pink dress - one of the chests is slightly ajar, suggesting that is where the child got her new garbs. She displays a timid smile and a curious glow in her eyes. Punii recognizes the young girl instantly.

"Waitwhoa*wheezewheeze*whaaaat. Has sanity decided now would be a good time to take a vacation?!"

"Hewwo."

[Jedi master Brick]

"Punii, who is this girl?"

[Endgame]

"I'm... *wheeze* not quite sure... Her mother came to Heroica Hall once... and some *cough* blue mage got really angry at the mother because of this girl. I dunno why."

The timid child speaks again.

"...I'm Roni."

[Capt.JohnPaul]

"Roni, you knew Arthur right? I'm his friend."

[Endgame]

Roni seemed to ease up a bit with Alexandre's presence.

"Mommy... said the name "Arthur", sometimes."

[Jedi master Brick]

Roni, what did your mummy say about Arthur and do you know where she is?"

[Endgame]

"Said... she knew him.

I think mommy is in Eubric. I'm... not sure."

"What are you doing here then?"

[Endgame]

"Trying on clothes!"

[Jedi master Brick]

"But why here? Why not in Eubric with your Mum?"

[Capt.JohnPaul]

"Did she say anything else about him?"

[Endgame]

"I saw chariot. Had purple guy and guy-with-shield in it."

Roni appears to be referring to the Chariot Hal Borhd picked Alex up in.

"I jumped on it. Ride was fun! And now I am here trying on clothes.

I dunno, guy-with-shield."

[Capt.JohnPaul]

"Hmm... I see. Well, I guess Roni has to come with us."

Alexandre then searches the red covered treasure chest.

[Jedi master Brick]

Elgar checks out the armour

[Fugazi]

"Well Roni, I'm not sure how you made it here without making any... bad encounters, but you're coming back with us to the Town Hall as soon as we can make it there. In the meantime, please don't stray away."

Galen rummages through the clothing items along the back wall.

[Endgame]

The young girl goes over to Punii.

"Hewwo, Punny!"

"My name is *wheeze* "Punii", silly. How'd you even get in here?!"

Roni beams as if Punii was addressing her favorite subject.

"Warp!"

Punii looks at the toddler, baffled and confused.

"...Warp?"

Roni nods.

"Warp."

Giving up and resigning to never truly know how Roni got into this fashionable fortress , Punii goes to help the party inspect the clothes. They find two useful items:

Chainmail: Bodywear, SP: 2. Metal armor that blocks out heat but conducts electricity shockingly well. Wearer takes half damage from fire-elemental enemies and double from Electric type enemies.

Dapper Hat: Headwear. This amazingly dapper hat gives the wearer a 1/6 chance of being encouraged at the start of any battle.

Party leader, how will this loot be distributed?

With the usefull garments pulled from their containers, the heroes all turn their attention back to Roni - and see she isn't there!

"HUH?"

"Hurray. A tagalong." Stated Sylph sarcastically as he held up an odd item of clothing.

[Double]
