Sylph confuses Aquos with another heal, undoing all of the damage that had been given to him. Alex, Lycan, and Johon all hit their respective targets, Aquos leaving his atrget with only a speck of life in it. The decay that was imbued into the slimy arm by Johon soon caused the tentacle to wither and sink under the water, dead. Elgar flings a ball of ice at the the hosatge tentacle, taking care not to hurt the young alchemist in its grip. Galen misses twice -Sylph nearly does too, but he scores a lucky shot on the tentacle. I'll heal you afterwards... It would make healing him feel less pointless. Galen, Johon, I've got a favour to ask of you in Lycan's name, It'll help us later when we don't want him to die every round once we've fully disarmed this guy." Order (if everyone agrees) Punii: Go to sleep little Punii... I don't want him to die, and the Prince's arms aren't lasting much longer. "Well, you wouldn't find it funny I guess. I've never been all that funny. Well, actually, I was a long long time ago.... Needless to say I find my entertainment in different ways these days. You're calm. I like that in an enemy. QM Note: I'm so sorry about the delay folks! First, I had robotics class... then my Warp Stinger came in the mail. ( ) Round Eight of the Battle With The Tentacled Terror >Punii and Aquos both agree Sylph's singing voice was mediocre at best >Galen gives Lycan Leather Armor (back): >Johon gives Lycan rover (back) >Lycan accepts armor and Rover (back) >Alex VS Aquos (back): Special Damage Special Damage (Tail Swing: 18 damage to entire party) -Sylph: Not stunned! -Johon: Not stunned! -Elgar: Not stunned! -Galen: Not stunned! -Lycan: Not stunned! >Sylph heals Alex (back): No heal Heal (9+19=28 HP healed) >Elgar consumes Greasy Sausage (back): +2 Max HP >Galen daydreams about Beatrice (back) >Johon twiddles his thumbs (back) >Sylph heals himself (back): Heal Heal (9+19=28 HP healed) The battle continues. The party plays completely conservatively, cautious about attacking the Tentacled Terror. Johon and Galen hand Lycan some sp-granting items, which the werewolf happily collects after his previous knock-out at this prince's hands. Misfortune frowns on Alex as he rushes Aquos, the beast tapping out one last beat before snickering. With one fell swoop and a swift swing of his tail, he smashes his barbed tail into all of the heroes. They all stagger from the blow, reeling backwards... but all of them, miracously, remain unstuned. Elgar gobbles down a greasy sausage while Johon and Lycan daydream. Sylph patches himself and Alex up. "You got lucky." Aquos, Level 28 Ancient *Counterstriking!* HP: 1047/1100 SP: 18 Ether: 20/30 Specials: 1-2: Tentacle Lash: Does 28 damage to the hero who rolled Special Damage. The heroes above and below him in the battle order take 14 damage. 3-4: Ruckus: The sound of Aquos's tentacles clapping shakes loose some stalagmites, causing them to fall on top of the party. All heroes take 11 damage, disregarding SP. 5-6: Rhythmic Rampage: Grabs the hero who rolled Special Damage with his tentacles and slams him into all of his party members. The entire party (including the hero who rolled Special Damage) takes damage equal to that Party Member's power. 7-8: Catastrophe Cacophony: Nullifies all of the party's positive effects, and does 28 damage to the hero who rolled Special Damage. 0: Tail Swing: With a swing of his monstrous tail, Aquos does 18 damage to the entire party. Every party member has a 1/2 chance of being stunned for one round. (Can be remedied or removed for 5 ether.) Note: Aquos's specials are not randomized! The numbers before each special is how many tentacles Aquos must have up for him to use it. For example, if he has 5 tentacles revealed, he will always use Rhythmic Rampage. He will only ever use Tail Swing when he has no tentacle revealed. Passive Specials: Tentacle Guard: As long as Aquos has 1 tentacle up, he will be counterstriking. Ethereal Immunity: Aquos is immune to all scrolls. SP Constant: Aquos's SP can only be lowered by destroying his tentacles, and nothing else. Each tentacle destroyed drops his SP by 2. Hanging on a Thread: Aquos can have a minimum of 1 HP when he still has tentacles active! All of his tentacles must be destroyed before Aquos himself can be. When Aquos dies, the battle is won. Drops: Peculiar Egg, Garnet Left Tentacle B, Level 19 Beast *Badly Poisoned!* HP: 24/250 SP: 1 Specials: Musical Mugging: Perfectly aligned with the beat, the tentacle slaps the hero who rolled special damage, stealing gold and doing damage equal to the hero's WP + SP. Stone Spike: Uses 4 of Aquos's ether to raise a spike of stone from the ground, doing 9 damage to the entire party, disregarding SP. If no ether left, nothing happens. Specials decided by die roll. Immune to Blindness and Sleep! Drops: 30 gold, potion. Note: When defeated, does an automatic 45 damage to Aquos and drops his SP by 2. Right Tentacle B, Level 19 Beast *Badly Poisoned!* HP: 28/250 SP: 1 Specials: Musical Mugging: Perfectly aligned with the beat, the tentacle slaps the hero who rolled special damage, stealing gold and doing damage equal to the hero's WP + SP. Stone Wall: Uses 4 of Aquos's ether to raise a stone wall, halving all damage done to all enemies next round. Specials decided by die roll. Immune to Blindness and Sealing! Drops: 30 gold, tonic Right Tentacle C, Level 20 Beast *Badly Poisoned!* HP: 107/250 SP: 2 Specials: Musical Mugging: Perfectly aligned with the beat, the tentacle slaps the hero who rolled special damage, stealing gold and doing damage equal to the hero's WP + SP. Stone Wall: Uses 4 of Aquos's ether to raise a stone wall, halving all damage done to all enemies next round. Specials decided by die roll. Immune to Blindness and Sealing! Drops: 30 gold, tonic QM Note: Aquos has 8 different tentacles, and every round, he will raise different ones. It works off a cycle, a repeating pattern: if you can figure out which tentacles appear when, you will be able to strategize far more efficiently. Tentacle Chart: >Left Tentacle B: Level 19, HP: 24/250, SP: 1 *Badly Poisoned!* >Big Tentacle: Level 20, HP: 241/325, SP: 2 *Badly Poisoned!* *Decaying! 14 damage (2 rounds remaining)* >Right Tentacle B: Level 19, HP: 28/250, SP: 1 *Badly Poisoned!* >Right Tentacle C: Level 20, HP: 107/250, SP: 2 *Badly Poisoned!* >Hostage Tentacle: Level 23, HP: 212/325, SP: 2 The Party: Sylph Solanum (Dannylonglegs) *Party Leader!* *Lucky!* *Hastened!* unknown age, unknown race Druid Level 19.5 Power: 27 (19+7+1) Defense: 0 Health: 35/35c(9+17+7+1) Ether: 10/23 (5+16+1) Gold: 19 Equipment: Shrapnel Bow (WP: 9, Bow *Deadly Envenomed!*.
