Endgame Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) QM Note: Apologies for the absolutely massive delay, folks! Bug Obliterater proved to be a more time consuming build then expected. Round Twenty Nine of (the now INCREDIBLY long) Fungeon Battle! >Punii makes jellies: 1 of every jelly made! >Sylph heals himself (back): Failure! >Sylph heals himself (back): Greater Heal (9x2=18+20=38 HP healed) >Alex heals Elgar (back): Heal (10+18=28 HP healed) >Romulus chugs a nostrum >Johon gulps down the Taboo Apple The party prepares themselves for the impending coronation clash, knowing the Suffering - and perhaps even Eidolon himself - lingered behind this door. With their consumbales chugged, their wounds mended, and their new found loot distributed, the party braces themselves for the trial ahead. They push open the door, and are immedaitely floored by the scene around them. They were in a massive room,a huge chamber that was lined with tiered seats. Entire militias of Proggs lined the walls, are glaring down disapprovingly at the intruding heroes. Hundreds, perhaps even thousands of eyes locked on to the heroes the second they entered the gargantuan room, waiting to see their next move. The Suffering proves relaively unfazed by the heroes' enrance, and he and Eidolon proceed on with the ceremony. The winged warrior seems toi be on the last few sentances of the presitgious coronatiom, moments way from crowning the despicable abomination as Emperor. "Eidolon... Do you accept the title of Emperor, and to be crowned supreme ruler of all proggs." Though Eidolon answered in a single word, the party can see the triumph and pride in his eyes. "Yes." With that, two Aerial Proggs burtst in from behind the heroes, gracefully swooping over their heads. They carry with them an massive crown, ornate yet savage in appearance - for it was covered in barbs and spikes, practically a lethal weapon on its own. The place it atop Eidolon's head, and soar into the crowd. Eidolon - no, Emperor Eidolon - has been crowned! The new emperor, hardly taking notice of the miniscule heroes, moves to the center of the room. He looks from the room, side to side, taking in all of his subjects. He raises his arms into the air, blinding coils od red electricity suddenly slithering up them. They crackles and sputter, electrifiying the air of the grantuan room. Eidolon utters his first words as new Emperor of all Proggs: "Ladies and gentlemen! Proggs of all sizes and ages! Meet... Your new emperor! HAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The formerly silent crowd erupts at the sight of their powerful new leader, the species not having a true king for the past 800 years. But at long last, they finally had one now - and with his coronation, a glroious new era would engulf all of Uland, and perhaps even Olegaia! The crowd of hundreds of Proggs go absolutely haywire, celebrating over their new monarch. After all of the random outrubrts, the hundreds of Proggs synchronize into one chant: "EI-DO-LON! EI-DO-LON! EI-DO-LON!" The chant proves defeaning, the sound of hundreds of screaming creatures riccocheting off of the high walls and lofy ceiling of the gargantuan room. The very room seems to shake from their bloodlust, the party covering their ears and staggering back from the noise. This was no crowd whose lust for violence would be quenched easily! The heroes look on as history was being made... a dark day in history indeed. QM Note: I want to let you roleplay before I initiate round 5. No consumables though, please! Fugazi Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Though Galen had expected a large gathering attending the coronation, the Progg presence in the large hall was simply overwhelming. As before every battle, he weighed his options for fleeing the fight. A quick dash for the doors, and he could make it to Eubric with a heavy purse and a guilty conscience. But then what? What he had just witnessed was serious -- Eidolon meant business, and Eubric was too close to Luosh for comfort. Fleeing was only postponing the inevitable conflict. Maybe he could flee Uland altogether, but Galen doubted that Heroica would welcome him back after such an act of cowardice. And Galen still had in mind Eidolon's advice regarding his sister. He had to find the Regret and wrench from him any information the creature might have about Brianna. Finding out whether she was dead and his quest pointless, or whether there was hope yet, was worth fighting every Progg in Luosh -- even the new Emperor. Quote
Endgame Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) "I guess you are going to go on about how your life has been tough and how that justifies killing thousands of people." "Thousands? You are woefully underestimating me. I plan to do more then petty thousands. Far, far more, in fact." Eidolon makes a sweeping gesture with his claw, laughing cruelly as he does so. "Look at the forces I command and cower, heroes. This is a mere portion - a fraction of the grand army I know control. You may be paragons among your verminous species, but how do you think the rest of mankind will fare against the Proggs? We were able to subjugate Luosh to our will within a few hours. The rest of Uland will topple just as this filthy town of aristocrats did. Do you think that the average man could take even a Progg larva on in fair combat? He'd probably be too busy cowering in fear to even fight for his life! What a pathetic species you are - weak and fragile, yet harbor dreams of greed and power far bigger then you could ever hope to achieve. Dreams that corrupt and kill yourself and those around you! Mark my words, heroes: I shall be the executioner of mankind!" Edited February 11, 2013 by Endgame Quote

Physical strength will always be defeated by the brave and honourable. Even if you beat us here today the brave men of Uland will drive you back. You fight for nothing. What you fight for does not matter much to you, it is only your oversized ego that needs feeding but we fight for our people, we fight for freedom I fight for Ennoc. True reasons for fighting will always defeat greed." Quote

Endgame Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 "Emperor and no speech? No monologue? Wow. Please, tell us how difficult your life was and how it justifies killing innocent people like Elgar said." "I apologize if this is getting a tad too formulaic for your tastes, but I'm afraid you'll be dead soon enough anyway! I don't suppose any of you were ever born into slavery. Poor Aquos wasn't even fully aware what was going on... Rhodus has tried to blot all the memories out. But I realized that those memories gave me purpose, they guided me. "Slavery" is too light of a word for what hell me and my people went through under man's rule. Day 1 of my life and day 1 of servitude were one of the same. We were performing labor you filthy vermin were too weak to. We were beat constantly... instead of our slave masters doing it, they forced family to. Proggs who were no longer proving to be useful were murdered and just harvested for ether. We were allowed not even an hour a day to relax, and even then it wasn't relaxing... just mending our wounds so we may once again go out and do our "master's" bidding. Progg suicide was not an uncommon thing, the battered and bloody souls either drowning themselves in the island's icy waters; or, they'd just continually slack off, knowing that eventually their master would end their misery. Dead proggs were usually piled up in plain sight as stark reminder to the rest of us. Though my father, the Mythrogg, was king, his treatment wasn't any better. He was the only one keeping the Progg population from tearing apart and splitting at the seams. Though he was a peaceful man, he knew that life could not go on for us like this... so it was he who orchestrated the rebellion. We prevailed, as I'm sure you know. As I said before, you humans are the plague of this planet. Your dreams and ambitions outgrow the bounds of your feeble bodies, and lust drives your every action. All you ever do is hurt yourself and those around you to achieve your own greedy goals of self-satisfaction and transitory pleasure. Your purpose is not to change the world or leave a legacy... it is just to obtain as much greedy satisfaction as possible." Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 "I'm sorry????? I'm assuming your slave masters are dead. They are dead. D. E. A. D. Dead. Not every single human has owned a progg slave. They are innocent. And yes, a lot of humans are greedy and evil, and do deserve to die, but that does not justify the execution of everyone. You cannot punish an entire species for something they had no control over hundreds of years ago." Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 "I'm afraid you're quite mistaken Edillion. I can't speak for everyone here, but my sole purpose is to change the world--and right now, you're standing in between me and my goal. Revenge on the entire human race is not only pointless, but futile. That ship sailed when you over-threw your masters. Now you're a damaged intellect in the body of a murderer. Frankly, I pity you and those mad enough to follow you." Quote

Bricksandparts Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 "I personally think this isn't getting us anywhere." Johon says. "Eidolon, how about you try and show how 'strong' you even are. You on us, since we're so weak. I don't understand your argument, it lacks validity, and you ignore the main point every time. You got revenge, so obviously you are going to take on the whole of Heroica, including the veterans, and somehow through some impossible feat, end up on top?" Quote
Endgame Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 (edited) "You think mankind has cleansed itself of its sin since we overthrew our master? You think there is no longer any slavery or oppression? Fools! Mankind has done nothing to help this world... every good deed soon being erased with an atrocity! Speaking of your precious hall... We've been making some plans to strike Eubric next for some time now. What other way could we kick off the Era of Eidolon then the destroy the biggest cesspool of villainy and deceit then Eubric itself? A place where its very guardians are corrupted, and it is held in thrall by nothing more then a few bickering families - just barely being held together by a petty family feud! I will personally burn your hall to the ground, and crush any of the heroes dwelling within. Your veterans will hardly be effective against an entire army of Proggs, methinks. The original veterans may have cut through the entire Goblin army and assassinate Tarokai... but do you think they'll be able to handle the situation in reverse? Hahaahahahaha... there is no better way to begin the Era of Eidolon to destroy Eubric! Luosh fell in a matter of hours... and your precious Eubric will fare no better." The heroes stagger back at the Emperor's revelation - even if Eidolon failed, the death count in a crowded city such as Eubric would be enormous. And there were some heroes simply not experienced enough to even stand against the Emperor...They, too, would perish from Eidolon's killing spree. The party looks in disgust at the crazed emperor. "But, there is one little thing I have to do before I decimate Eubric. Namely, kill you. My subjects: HAVE AT THEM! CARRY THEIR HEADS BACK TO ME ON A PIKE!" At their master's command, the Proggs vault out of the crowd, condensing into a massive amalgam - a gargantuan mob of blood thirst Proggs. With a sarcastic wave good-bye Eidolon flies through the ceiling, bursting out of the room. The Suffering, who had been relatively quiet until now, flies to the front of the crowd. He had several syringes sticking out of his arm . Clearly, he had been boosting himself with steroids... he lands into the center of the mob, and they advance on the heroes. "Are you ready, heroes?"
