For me first. Then for Eubric. And only then...

"For Luosh. We will throw down Eidolon and hope that the terror ends with his death."

Galen hands his smoke bomb to Hal. The shadows above were terrifying, but there was no going back. Pointing at the ladder, he waits for someone to lead the way.

OoC: I should have 2583 gold.

The party, their revolves ready to face whatever trial that lurked ahead, begin up the ladder. Rain pours down the shaft as they ascend, the climb to their final battle seemingly taking hours, perhaps even days, to the heroes. Anticipation and fear plagued their minds, knowing that Emperor Eidolon himself awaited them at the top. This night had been one of the longest yet for the heroes... in a few short hours, a complete genocide had occurred. People had been saved, many had met their demise. They had faced trial after trial, challenge after challenge, but now everything was finally coming to a climax. All of the activity they had encountered on this night had faded into a blur, though they remembered each face and their words as if they just occurred moments ago. Every place they had visited resurfaces... The words of all of the people they had met yet - friend and foe - echo in their mind...

"Eidolon cannot be stopped!"

"Eidolon is a terror to behold."

"Eidolon will reduce you to ashes, and scatter you to the four winds!"

"We will die for Emperor Eidolon!"

"Eidolon is a force to be reckoned with."

"Clip Eidolon's wings and bring that tyrant down!"

These thoughts swirling around their subconscious, the party reaches the top of the ladder, and step out...

Eidolon.

Sylph stood, a trunk in the howling wind, his cloak whirling behind him. Rain crashed against his torso and battered his helm. He stared into the eyes if Eidolon. Unspeaking. Resolute.

"It's over for you Eidolon."

Eidolon had been eying the party expectantly, as if waiting for their course of action. The wind bellowed, quite nearly sweeping the party off of their feet. Rain pounded down on the heroes, tiny daggers barraging the entire party. In the center of this calamity was Emperor Eidolon himself, red strands of voltaic energy coiling up and down his arms, cracking and surging with immense power. He hovered in the storm, practically a hurricane this point, unfazed by the weather; enjoying it, in fact. The Emperor speaks:

GZuRyPX.png

"Do you truly think it is? Do you truly think that this battle is over, before it even began? You're so confident. Do you truly think every soul you have encountered thus far is a liar? You have been told so many times, by both ally and enemy, of my might... they are not to be doubted.

You know... When my brother dragged himself back from here, he was in the most sorry state I had ever seen him. Rhodus was bleeding from every orifice, one of his hands sliced clean off. He practically dragged himself to the shores of the isle, bloody and beaten. I had knew that humans had once again been the cause of the Proggkind's misery, and had to be destroyed. For just squatting in an abandoned cave, Rhodus barely escaped with his life. Funny, how this entire genocide... all this bloodshed and death... started with a simple real estate disagreement. And yet, you humans felt it appropriate to simply mindlessly murder and maim the dozen of Proggs that were originally in Luosh. It seems mankind is hellbent on destroying every single being their influence reaches, thoughtlessly slaughtering anyone who remotely presents a challenge... Solving their every problem with violence and killing, war and genocide. Fortunately, mankind's time of retribution is nigh.

Rhodus came back to our island bearing a sword, a blade of great power: Combrys. I believe that the wererat wields the blade now, correct? Nonetheless, the incident made it clear... Heroica was to be the bane of all Progg activity. All other humans could be easily crushed, swept aside and destroyed in a mere instant. Fragile, so easy to simply crush and move on. And yet... you heroes still walked Olegia. Champions among your pathetic kind, the only ones capable of standing up to us. We knew you were going to come, we knew you were going to be an issue since day one of just planning this invasion. And yet, I chose to toy with you; a guilty pleasure, I suppose. It would've been so easy to just murder you the second you stepped past the border into Luosh, end your lives before this even all started... It was my mistake, and soon enough you began to think of yourself as my equals. Fools! Pathetic fools! You think you lowly creatures are a match for an emperor? Perhaps defeating all of those Gladius Unit members was a given... maybe even Rhodus and Aquos. But to make it all the way here, struggling and toiling at every step... all for naught! All for the honor to die at the hands of an Emperor! Death I will gladly dole out, in the honor of all Proggs who were lost today!

Have you any last words, before I wipe you off of the face of Olegia, heroes?! Savor the few moments you have left - for they will be your last!"

QM Note: I will kick off the final battle this afternoon. Last minute prep time!

"Sure, First off, and, please, don't take this the wrong way--just some insightful criticism--but given the choice between killing your enemies and letting them kill a tenth of your army including its generals and Elites, it takes a true fool to choose the latter. Even we "Over-confident fools" wouldn't have made such a basic error. We did not go directly for you because we had to acquire the knowledge and power to defeat you. We needed to cut off all the other heads before we got to you. We did. Sure you stand emperor, but you reign over a legion of Pawns no stronger than professional soldiers. We've given Uland the fighting chance it needs should we fail to kill you. You call it over-confident. I call it strategy. It doesn't matter if we die at your hands or not. You've lost.

Second, we don't harm those Proggs who want to live peacefully. Only those who want to kill and conquer and those loyal to them. We give our enemies a choice. Here's yours: crawl back to the hole from which you came with your tail between your legs and your army in-tow and you'll be able to save their lives and your own. If you give a damn about the Proggs, then you have to stop this war--it'll be a genocide, and not the kind you want.

Johon: Consider using Dragon Scale and Smelling Salts"

"The proggs that have died today died because of you. You worked them into a rage and organised an attack on here. If we were going to mindlessly kill proggs we would of gone to a progg city, but we are here because we answered a plea for help from the people of this city that you have been mindlessly killing. You may be bigger than an stronger than us but we have courage. The odds are in your favour yet we fight. I am leaving Loush victorious or not at all, I don't care what my fellow heroes think, to me this quest has always been victory or death."

"Solving every problem with violence? You don't know us well enough, Emperor. We do happen to negotiate with sensible beings. You're just not one of them, sorry to say that. You had many opportunities to talk it over yet never mentioned the possibility of a peaceful agreement. You actually did talk a lot, and so did your servants, but that was little more than verbal masturbation serving your own interests. Admit it, you never considered halting your invasion to deal for peace. In those circumstances, how could we have shown mercy? We had to stop you by any means necessary, and you would respect nothing else but force. So enjoy your cruel ways for a last combat, because all bad things must come to an end."

"Before I waste a few minutes of my precious time acknowledging the asinine dribble you are currently spewing... Would you care to take a look downwards?

Punii, who had been nestled on a battlement, hazards a glance downwards... and immediately staggers back, rolling into a trembling ball. The heroes approach the tower's edge, Eidolon silently chuckling as they look downwards into the castle's courtyards.

Proggs. Hundreds of Proggs, all standing down there. This wasn't a completely foreign sight - they had braved both the rally and the coronation - but something was different this time. Before, they had been rowdy, cheering and roaring for whatever figurehead was currently in their presence. But this gathering was silent, their claws all wrapped around their weapons. All of them were taking aim, preparing arrows and mixing bombs. Hundreds of bows were pointed upwards, ready for their Emperor''s signal... Dozens of healer, their magic ready to mend their master. Entire legions of Aerial Proggs, ready to battle alongside their ruler. These Proggs were not celebrating.

They were ready to fight.

GZuRyPX.png

"I will not make the same mistakes as my two younger brothers - lone wolves may be formidable creatures, but they get devoured by sheer numbers eventually."

Eidolon begins to sadistically chuckle, making a grand sweeping motion over the entire legions of Proggs beneath the Heroes.

"I brought a little bit of help for this final clash."

You had many opportunities to talk it over yet never mentioned the possibility of a peaceful agreement.

Eidolon claps slowly, in mock praise. His chuckle from before had became a sinister cackle, his claps accompanied by rumbles of thunder from the black sky above.

GZuRyPX.png

"You get it! You finally get it! You say we have this conversation over and over and over, yet you still haven't gotten the damn point yet! You humans don't deserve peace! You humans don't deserve any of the freedom you cling on to, any of the hope that helps you through each day! You pathetic creatures don't even deserve life - only oppression and unrelenting death for the atrocities you have committed! It is because of your kind my species were slaves. Your kind forced me to line my beloved brothers with scars, beat them into submission. Your kind is rotten to the core, a disease spreading rapidly... growing more and more disgusting with each generation! It took you this long to truly comprehend what this invasion was all about - even though we said it since the beginning?! Death! The Era of Eidolon will bring nothing but death and suffering to humankind, just as the human's reign brought it to my people! It is time for your kind to pay its debts to Proggkind the rest of Olegaia!"

Eidolon's voice grows louder and louder as he speaks, slowly descending into his madness and fury. By the end he is screaming, the storm gorwing more and more intense by the passing second. Thunder roared and lightning struck, illuminating the darkened sky that hung above the heroes and their adversary. Eidolon wasn't even attempting to hide his hatred, the party practically feeling the thousand years of hatred and anger bottled up inside the royal abomination. Lightning slithered its way around his every appendage, his eyes like tiny suns in the dead of the night. The wind howls as Eidolon continues.

GZuRyPX.png

"You are the only things left standing between the Proggs and the Era of Eidolon. Any words at this juncture - meine, and even yours - are empty at this point. Meaningless. This battle was fated in the course of history, and as is my victory over you filthy creatures! This bloodstained night will end with your demise, heroes. You think there is hope?! You think there is hope for any of you?! GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! I shall blot it out, just as I will blot out your verminous species. None shall stop me - here or ever!

Fear the wrath of Emperor Eidolon, executioner of mankind!"

Eidolon was past the point of reason, the terrifying beast closing in on the party. Some of his words rang true, however, despite the emperor's madness. This genocide was to end, here and now, no matter the victor!

Galen was impressed.

"Hmpf. That's a lot of Progg to take in. I don't think we can win this, but we do have smoke bombs. My only worry is there's nowhere to escape to from this tower." :sceptic:

Nevertheless, the rogue raised his wrench and faced the enemy.

"Now Eidolon, where shall we start?"

"My word. His limbs are about 600 health each and each has like, 10 SP. *huh*:enough: Where to start?"

"Wow, you brought your army. And here I was thinking you were stupid." Snarled Sylph. " Alex, I think you're the only one who can survive a hit from Edilion himself, so I need you to target him. Make it count: If we get him poisoned we may have a chance to win. Nothing he can do can heal poison. Apart from that, the Tail's top priority. It revitalizes his Ether, which is not good for us. Punii, make jellies until we destroy the gauntlets. Once we do so, it's possible that we can let you and the poison work him down to a def eatable state. Also, confusing his limbs is a VERY good idea. When Alex Rolls a guardian, We all Attack Edilion en-mass. If all else fails, we run. I don't want to see any dumb heroics, Hal or Elgar. If we don't live, he can't die, so all we've done will have been wasted. And, Damn-it! Johon! use your Damned Consumables!"

Order (If everyone agrees):

Sylph: Confuse Tail, BR

Elgar: Confuse Tail, BR (or Confuse Wing R if Tail is confused)

Alex: Tail, BR

Alex: Suffering, BR

Sylph: Use Smelling Salts On Johon, BR

Johon: Use Dragon Scale, BR

Johon: Gauntlet L, BR

Galen: Wing L, BR

Punii: Make Jellies

Rome: Gauntlet R, BR

Galen: Wing R, BR

Hall: Tail, BR

>Hal VS Emperor Eidolon's Tail (back): Special Damage (Jab Cataclysm: 22 damage to all heroes!)

>Eidolon shouts a command to his army: 6: Arrow Storm!

The battle with the flying collossus begins, the maniacal Emperor descending upon them. Gritting their teeth and preparing for the worst, the party begins their assault on the destructive monarch. Sylph and Elgar try to turn Eidolon's own limbs against him, but get not a single twitch or spasm out of the Emperor despite their efforts. Eidolon's tail darts for Alex, but the pladin siwfty dodges and counters with a slash of his own, drawing blood - the paladin had scored a clean hit, but it hardly seemed to effect the mighty foe before them. Alex goes for Eidolon's face, leaving a hardly noticeable nick in his face grid that not even the emperor noticed. Sylph lets Johon takes a whiff of his Smelling Salts, the aroma immediately hastening Johon. The Raider expends his dragon scale and rushes one of Eidolon's hands. The massive progg grabs the blade as Johon charges him, but even with his hand clad in a heavy gauntlet the decay manages to infect it. Galen tries to chuck his wrench at Eidolon's wing, but the flapping target was a difficult one to hit. The wrnech misses entirely, giving the beast an opening, With a twist of his shoulder Eidolon smacks Galen with his wing, the rogue stumbling backwards from the impact. Romulus slashes at Eidolon's other gauntlet, doing a fair amount of damage. Galen takes aim once more, this time attemtping to hit his right wing. Anticipating the wing's movement galen throws his wrench, the weapon leaving a light bruise on the wing. Hal attempts to initiate a Charge, but in response Eidolon enters a Jab Cataclysm. In a flurry of anger he stabs each hero for 22 damage, laughing all the while.

Eidolon bellows a command down below, instructing the archers to launch a synchronized strike. The party would have some arrows to worry about at the end of the next round...

GZuRyPX.png "Why must you still fight on, even though you know how it must end? Accept your death with grace, heroes!"

SP: 18 24

Ether: 70/70

Emperor's Wrath: Attacks the hero who rolled Special Damage for damage equal to the combined level of every single hero on the field. This massive hit discourages the rest of the party, each hero having a 1/6 chance of becoming Jinxed. (Can be remedied or removed for 5 ether each.)

EMP: At the cost of 10 ether Eidolon sends out a burst of static, nullifying the hero who rolled special damage's postive effects and dealing 24 damage to all heroes in the row of the hero who triggered the special, that hero included. All heroes have a 1/6 chances of becoming Confused from the white noise. (Can be remedied or removed for 5 ether each.)

Charge Up: Eidolon builds up electric energy. At the end of the next round he releases it in a devestating bolt of energy, dealing 29 damage to the entire party and spending 20 ether.

You Don't Amuse Me: Eidolon means business, and is more than eager to annihlate you. Eidolon's free hits cannot be prevented by healing.

War Tactics: At the end of odd number rounds, Eidolon will shout an order to the legion of Proggs below. A die will be rolled to decide which command he will shout down:

-6: Arrow Storm: The archers fire off a blitz of arrows, doing 19 damage to the entire party.

-5: Bombs Away: The bombers fling sharpnel bombs at the heroes, doing 12 damage to the entire party - disregarding SP!

-4: Hail To The King: The Progg Mages cast a spell over the party - all heroes have a 1/6 chance of becoming Hexed for the next round. (Can be remedied or removed with 7 ether.)

-3: Medic! The Progg Mages heal their emperor, resotring 120 HP to himself and all of his appendages.

-2: Reinforcements: Eidolon calls for reinforcements, 2 Aerial Proggs swooping in to their master's aid.

-1: Ten Hut: The next time Eidolon shouts out commands, he will get to shout two. (If the same command is rolled twice, it only occurs once.)

At the end of even number rounds, the order he shouted previously will be acted upon.
