This is my latest creation, a tank. It isn't based on any particular tank, just my own design :classic:

Functions

  • M Motor powers each track
  • Manual 360o rotation of turret
  • Barrel moves up and down

The base is 16 studs long, 15 studs wide and 6 studs high. With the turret and barrel it is 32 studs long, 15 studs wide and 14 studs high.

It is great fun to drive and reasonably strong and easy to fix if you do accidentally drive it off a table.........

I'll post pictures tomorrow once I've taken some more photos at different angles.

Are the newer tracks (8043 and Snow Groomer) preferred to the older style treads like those pictured above?

@DLuders I think that it is slightly smaller than mahjqas tank as i don't have that many tracks!

@Tommy I just use the older tracks as they are narrower and are the only ones I have....

@ legomuppet9: That's got to be the one of the smallest Lego Power Functions tank that I've ever seen:

The rest of the photos plus a video is here:

The tank does like to do a "wheelie" when u make it go forward, which is because of where the battery box is, this actually makes it more fun to drive :sweet:

If there is enough demand I may make some basic photo instructions...

I like how you incorporated the BB and IR receiver to represent the turret.

@ legomuppet9: Yes, please make photo Building Instructions for your tank! There are kids who would love to build a simple Lego Power Functions tank like this (with the limited parts they have), Your Flickr video shows how it's a lot faster than most Lego tanks.

He means himself...... :roflmao:

Ok will do, but do you think an LDD file would be better?

Yes that would be better.

Ok, one ldd file coming up. The reason its so quick is i had already made it, as I always do for any of my models...

Also, I sort of have a limited amount of parts with only 3796....

The number of pieces....oops didn't make that clear....

Oh, goodie -- now I can build and play with that tank like Alasdair Ryan suspected I would! Thanks for sharing your LDD file.
