Yet another Southern Lego store coming soon!

Opening mid November (according to Lego's job pages) in the Harlequin Shopping Centre, Watford

Yes but not in the south west. We don't appear to have any. I think the nearest to me is Cardiff and that is in a different country! I would love them to open one down this way, but I guess the population is just too low over here to support it.

We're being spoilt over in Brighton, they are currently building a bigger Lego store to replace the one we already have. Atleast I guess thats their plan? I cant imagine we'd need two!

'The next LEGO Store to open in Europe will be in Watford, in the Harlequin shopping centre. On 14th December 2012, we will be opening the doors of the official LEGO Store Watford. Stay tuned for the Grand Opening in 2013!'

The Watford store is opening on 21st February 2013. Very much looking forward to it as it will mean a LEGO store just 20 mins from home!

Free gifts for the first 300 customers spending over £25 on Thursday Friday & Saturday. T-shirt on Thursday mini store on Friday and 3 minifigs on Saturday.

Does anyone have any idea how fast the 300 free gifts generally go, can't see me getting 3 under 3's ready and out of the house in time to get to the store by 9am

Well I went this morning to Watford to claim my free gift so am now able to answer my own question, which might be of use to other people.

When we arrived at about 9:50am the queue was right through the shop to the door, so my wife joined the queue while I shopped. I didn't really know what I wanted (well I did but I knew the modulars were abit out of our current budget) So I looked around for a bit untill my wife suggested I get a modular :) winner! So I am now the proud owner of the Town Hall, I already have GE, FB & PS. As freebees we also got 330003 & 30222. Oh and my daughter got to build a free minifig.

We paid at 10.04am and at that point the staff were discussing that they had about 40 of the 3300003 sets left. So I imagine in another half hour they would be all gone. The queue was much shorter when we were leaving.

I imagine it will be even busier tomorrow as it's a Saturday but I can't see them serving the customers much quicker so assuming you can get served in the first 60mins you should be OK for being in the first 300!

I got there at 8:20 this morning, 36 people in the queue in front of me, by 9am, I guess there was 100 behind us as well.

I'd imagined they would let about 30 people at a time into the store, but instead they let all the people in at once, it was chaos! The queue to pay went out the door! Was a bit odd seeing people queuing outside the shop with goods they had to go back inside to pay for?

I was there yesterday, and it was indeed chaos. Although having gone back this morning, the staff said that it died down mid-morning, and the brand store models actually lasted until just before midday. Some people said they managed to get two.

Was much quieter today (around 60 people there by 9.00am).

Gift today was three minifig's in numbered, Watford Grand Opening packaging. We had a builder/lumberjack, a railway station worker and a kid with a skateboard.

My first store opening - really nice to meet up with some other afol's.
