Jipay Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Thanks ! You are definitly really gifted with photoshop Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 A few observations re. the catalogue: Although the dump truck looks great, it's seems too large in proportion to the mini-figs. It's like the new construction sets are built in three sizes, small, medium, and jumbo-sized. Would have loved to see a garage for all the smaller construction vehicles. The viking "sneak peek" is great at getting you interested in what's coming. Nice visual with the fog and have to agree with the opinions re. the logo/emblem. It does rock! Looks like no new trains in the 2005 "line-up". I still have my fingers crossedthough. Lastly, I'd love to see some of the numerous duplo sets made as regular city sets, esp. the large airplane with detail like the dump truck. Maybe we'll see more if the truck does well. Overall, nice 2005 line-up. Looking forward to availability. :) Quote
The Middleman Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Brickster, a few things. First of all, the dump truck is to scale - with mine trucks. If you google 'mine truck', you'll see what I mean. Second, on those trains - maybe this year, still! Notice that there isn't even a mention of the Harry Potter sets in that catalog, and that's a HUGE line. The second part of the year, it seems, is still fairly hushed-up. Third, yeah, I agree. We'd buy an airport, eh? Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Don't get me wrong, I like it, and it probably is to scale, but put it next to my train city, and it dwarfs my largest building which is the train engine shed. I have seen these monsters in huge pits, but not sure how it would look when it takes up 2 road plates in my city (if I can make the space). Fans don't shoot me, but it reminds me of a Lego Tonka - but it's still a great model. Quote
Brickmaster Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Tonka?!? yes it does look like tonka. Its placement of lage parts makes it look like tonka, then the huge , 1 piece back just seals the deal. nonetheless, i will get this monster of a truck! Quote
LegoVervoerBouwer Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Do you need a translation of some things? I am Dutch and the catalogue is Dutch... ;) I'm this morning immediately ride to the shop and i have them now! :P Quote
DoubleT Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 I just got the Catalogue to day.... And wow Lego has really cheapen the prices :oD :oD :oD The Dump is only 200 kr.... (about 9 pounds) Quote
Vader Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Wow thats a great price for a set of its size, well done to lego for lowering there prices Quote
The Middleman Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Well, I might have to get a couple if they're $20... Quote
Jipay Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 I happy they lowered the price. This is a promess they've made years ago and nothing has been done... until now... I think that they realized that when one set is 30 people buy one and when it's 20, they buy two... *satis* Quote
Sir Terrance Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Looking at the scan I can't see any prices. Can someone tell me what the prices for these sets are? Thanks. 8874 8876 8873 7249 Thanks again. Quote
mahjqa Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 I see a cross punisher! Fellow Trigun fan? :D Yup, Trigun fan indeed. And Ghost in the shell, and Lain, and Cowboy Bebop, andandand.... (To people who have no idea, this page, number 69.) Quote
The Middleman Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Ah, I have all of those! But Trigun's my greatest anime passion, along with Gungrave (also by Yasuhiro Nightow). I have working Airsoft replicas of Vash's gun, Knives' gun, and both of Beyond the Grave's Ceruberus. Quote
Orlego Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 They lowered the prices because of Megablocks. I just wonder how much it will effect the outcome for sales for this year. Quote
The Middleman Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 They lowered the prices because of Megablocks. I just wonder how much it will effect the outcome for sales for this year. Well, considering this is the best batch of sets for YEARS, I'm not worrying. :-D Quote
LegoVervoerBouwer Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 I just got the Catalogue to day.... And wow Lego has really cheapen the prices :oD :oD :oD The Dump is only 200 kr.... (about 9 pounds) 19,99 Euro! It's the same price as the Fire Truck... It's is cheaper , but the Dumptruck have wan BIG piece... (the loading platform) Quote
The Middleman Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 I kind of wish it was built out of plates, though. That giant piece, well, there's not much else you can do with that. Quote
Brickmaster Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 Im guessing the adventurures set is an airplane. look at the cockpit. is that a new piece? At this point im not gonna guess the price. cant wait to see the rest of the line though. Quote
sam89 Posted February 6, 2005 Author Posted February 6, 2005 I think the cockpit is the same piece as the one from the new Millennium Falcon. But remember this line still might not come out. And why is this being posted in this thread *wacko* Quote
Brickmaster Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 I was thinking that could be the cockpit piece, but it seems way to skinney for it to be that part, and why isnt this on a new thread? *wacko* Quote
MattZitron Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 So is this set definately coming? I want that big megablocks plane!! And no Vikings till Autumn. :'( Quote
Mr.Bionicle Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Here a link of the German catalogue. It was notable me that at duplo castle a black dragon sees new set. http://festum.de/1000steine/myimages/1-2005-1 Quote
The Middleman Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Oh I don't know, I'm expecting Vikings around August. Quote
