Pandora Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 A question about the plot, however, if we good guys had claimed our victory, would Poppy and Randy still turned out to be corrupt? I'm just curious to know if that was set in stone, and if we could have won on day two just by follow the example of Scouty to lynch the NPCs. The plot was fluid and open-ended. If the Town had won then Randy and Poppy would have been good guys, and would have walked out into the sunshine with the survivors, charging them with the responsibility of keeping Kirksville safe. There are occasional references to Mafia games passim in the day threads, and more than a few references to some well known players too, but also some of what was happening was trying to reflect (without giving anything away) what had actually been happening in the game. Lynching NPCs will get you nowhere, especially if those NPCs are actually the hosts!

Stormblessed Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Is there going to be analysis of how everyone played coming up?
Rick Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Is there going to be analysis of how everyone played coming up? Day notes and player analysis will be posted the coming days, but we have now put up a list of Night Actions.
Robominer Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) Great game, Pandora and Rick! I enjoyed watching this game from the sidelines. I wish I could have played. However, real life come before Mafia. Edited October 29, 2012 by Robominer
PsyKater Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Hmm not so much discussion. But what do you expect after these Day threads... :D I am looking forward to further details, esp. Mafia board and analysis.
Stormblessed Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I don't know what else to add at this point. Its not like it was a controversial game, and no one brought up anything during the day but me. We can't really accuse people for not playing well. Though I can ask the four of you that remained on the last day, how come you never brought up anything I the game thread. Always bring things up, especially since it was the last day. Not talking at all (dOnt know how many of you talked I private) was very stupid.

Always bring things up, especially since it was the last day. Not talking at all (dOnt know how many of you talked I private) was very stupid. Well on the last day everyone already knew who they were voting for: me. That's why everyone just voted straight away and there was no discussion.
PsyKater Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 But you still could have defended yourself!! It's about victory! You could have thrown doubts to your fellows and make them think about their decision. In public! No offense, we are all learning, and I don't know if I would have done better (most probanly not). But I want us all to learn anything from this to do better next time. So lets talk about what happened and what could have done better.
Ferrik Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 (edited) Yeah I tried to defend myself by PMing and Isaac told me how konze was cop and investigated everyone left and they all came up as town. I guess konze just didn't know that one if them was in fact the godfather. Edited October 31, 2012 by Ferrik
Rufus Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 This was a great game to follow. Expertly hosted with great storytelling and photos! Hate to say it, Town, but if you had just analysed the vote from day 2 you could have caught all the scum there and then. As Rick said, over-reliance on night action results was your downfall: the lynch vote is always the Town's strongest weapon. Well done Scum!
Rick Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Day Notes, our commentary on events during the Days (and Nights), are now posted.
Stormblessed Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Well, that was interesting to read. In hindsight, as it always is, Adam wasn't the right choice. But I was right in thinking that scum were there. Out of the 4(5?), 2 were scum. I guess I didn't just use good enough logic there, but I knew(felt) we had to have a lynch, and I felt like I needed to move quickly with however much time was left.
TrumpetKing Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I still really regret changing mjy mind after suspecting DarthPotato and Superficial Username. That could have been a townie win, even though I probably would have died that night.
PsyKater Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Thank you for the detailed analysis. It gave a lot to learn from.
Ferrik Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 The day notes were interesting and will be helpful for future mafia games.
DarthPotato Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Thanks for the Day Notes! Those will come in handy for future games. I think I know now to be better with my voting choices, because my vote change to TrumpetKing on Day 2 could have got me lynched in the future... Also, I was kind of worried that konze would be protected by the Doctor, but I had to kill him so he couldn't tell everyone Ferrik's allegiance. I was thinking there was a good chance the Doctor was dead anyway, and it's a good thing I was right. I may not be as lucky in the future, though.
Rick Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Player Appraisal is finally posted. Congratulations to those who passed.
TheBoyWonder Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 One mistake. I was the most experienced Mafia Player in the scum team.
TrumpetKing Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Yay!!!! I am honestly very surprised I passed. I remember during Day1 after being targeted so many times thinking "I am soooo gonna fail". Haha, anyways, I can't wait for any future games. Espescially darkdragon's.. And on a side note, the tablet I was using doesn't even have auto-correct. I just have fail typing skills on it (Not to mention sometimes it clicks on the wrong letters, doesn't type, etc.) Well, I look forward to playing more games, and thanks for hosting this wonderful game, Pandora and Rick. It was an exciting experience.
Palathadric Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Is this Taz's first Mafia game on EB? I very much enjoyed your playing. I really hope we see you hanging around this side of EB more. Congratulations to you all. This was a very entertaining game to follow. ...What was with the crocodile in the toilet?
DarthPotato Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 All of that was a very interesting read. I'm happy I officially passed too, and I can't wait to get into some big games now. Thanks again for hosting Rick and Pandora!
PsyKater Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Wow, thanks a lot. I did not see that one coming I appreciate my "pass" a lot and I am looking forward to play advanced games now. Thanks again for hosting this great school!
Ferrik Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I agree with the player appraisals, I should have tried to defend myself with the evidence from day 2. And I probably should have done more analysing too. Well hopefully I'll improve in all of these areas during my next mafia game. Thank you once again for this exciting game, Rick and Pandora.
