EDIT: Don't wanna burst your bubble but this was the 5000th post Actually yours was the 5000th reply, which would make it the 5001st post. EDIT: At the top right of your post it even says #5001. Back on topic though, they started showing up here in Canada around mid-June but I wouldn't know about other places. Sorry I'm on my phone right now so I can't see whereabouts you live. Blakstone Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 One of the three area Walmarts in my area have Wave 2 LotR already. Two of my three area Targets have it though. Quote
Str0ngbad Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 The target in my area got them at the beginning of June. Tthey sold out of the council set in the first week and still haven't restocked. I've been to 10+ Wal Marts and none of them have had any. I'm checking frequently; hoping to catch wave one when it gets marked down. Quote
Deathleech Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I haven't checked Wal-Mart, but the local Targets seem hit and miss. One has nothing new and hasn't gotten anything in awhile while another has 1-2 of every set except the council of Elrond. The distribution for this wave seems very spotty at best. Quote
Fives Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I'm surprised that the new LOTR sets have still yet to appear in stores in some places. They've been here in Canada (and I believe the US) since sometime in May. It's a strange shame. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 It is really hit/miss it seems. I just end up ordering everything online so I know I will get it. Most of my local stores are random on stocking. I think I saw the Pirate Ship Ambush at one store, but that is the only one I've seen. None of wave 1 are left and nothing Hobbit related either around here. Very peculiar. I'm glad I got the sets when they first came out then. Quote
WEREWOLF Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 new month so have anyone found pictures of the other 2013 Hobbit sets? Quote
Faefrost Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 My local Target and Walmart both have a healthy mix of the sets. Quote

I haven't seen a wave 1 LotR set in some time, and when I did it always seemed to be Mines of Moria. I rarely see any Hobbit sets either anymore, usually just a random Warg Attack or Mirkwood Spiders. I think almost all stores have the Riddles for the Ring and Goblin King Battle sets though. Their LotR and Hobbit selection is crap but they have all the Chimera sets taking up half the aisle and an end cap Quote
Artanis I Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 Or at my Target, the new LOTR sets have disappeared, there's now a bunch of last year's Hobbit sets, (where were they 3 weeks ago when Hobbit sets were half price ) but most of the shelf space that used to be Lego is now stocked with Megasucks. Quote
SheepEater Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 most of the shelf space that used to be Lego is now stocked with Megasucks. Their international headquarters is in Montreal, QC Canada and I personally put the blame on them for NO Lego Stores at all in my province. When I lived in Montreal, I went to their warehouse once on my bicycle. Circled the entire area. Could have entered their shipping area easily if I wanted, there were no fences or security guards around. Quote

I'm glad I got the sets when they first came out then. With Walmart starting their clearances this week, we should see a lot of the new stuff soon. I have Black Gate and Council of Elrond, and have seen Pirate Ship and Wizard Battle sets, just not everywhere. Can't wait to get my hands on Orthanc here at some point. Quote

This set will easily be the best selling set from this wave no questions. The only weak point of this set is the inclusion of another Frodo at a low price point as Gimli has only been in previously higher priced sets. I would rather have seen Boromir but that's just me nit picking. The white arches are amazing as well as the foliage making this set a MOCer's dream come true. I will buy boxes of the foliage pieces if they appear in the pick a brick wall. Their international headquarters is in Montreal, QC Canada and I personally put the blame on them for NO Lego Stores at all in my province. There would have to be people actually wanting to steal Mega Blocks for security to be needed lol. Quote

Don't wanna veer off topic into last year's stuff, but for me, Hobbit sets just got on clearance. Mirkwood for $15 is great. Quote
Blakstone Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Is there any precedent for printed tiles in a LEGO board game making it into a regular set? I ask as I got a lovely map to the Lonely Mountain in a Hobbit game I found on clearance. If so, perhaps we will see it again in the December wave. If not, it and the other printed titles would work well in MOCs. Quote
Dragonfire Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 I think that printed tile was in An Unexpected Gathering. I have that set and it has two map-tiles, one for Erebor and one for Mirkwood and the Shire. Quote

SMC Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Hi all argos have 3 for 2 on all toys here in the UK for anyone after the new set, I want 2 black gates but cant find a 3rd thing if anyone around Milton Keynes wants a black gate for £40 let me know asap. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 They were stickers and not printed I thought... You are correct. Unexpected Gathering comes with stickered tiles for the Shire, Mirkwood, and Thorin's map. Oddly, this same map is in the Hobbit board game and printed. (Bonus: Pirate Ship Ambush comes with a stickered Gondor map. Quote
ZCerberus Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 You are correct. See, History regulator DOES know SOMETHING about a Hobbit set! And you guys thought all I did was say you were off topic and build in GoH! Quote
Alfadas Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 (edited) Offcourse you know somethings about the Hobbit sets, we didn't say you didn't (at least I didn't). Edited August 3, 2013 by jeroenaa Quote

Dragonfire Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Yeah...I forgot, because I got the set six months ago... Quote
deskp Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Its disappointing that the sets are stickers when they printed it for the board game... Well It would look a bit odd if one was printed and the rest stickers. technicaly better value, but it comes off as a bit odd. Quote
