SMC Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) ^ I think you right if you are will you buy me the whole wave edit: replying to Durins Bane Edited October 16, 2013 by SMC Quote
Fives Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I will buy you the whole wave if i am wrong. I am not tho. The elves are new, they are printed with dark green and brown armor. thranduil looks more armored. the mirkwood set comes with 2 new printed elf shields. the orcs use uruk-hai swords and old troll swords. The new warg in Dark brown looks sick though!! You posted this after my post. The fact that you can confirm the fact that there are new printed shields, the fact Thranduil has more armour, and that the Warg is a new colour means these MUST be the official images. How did you see these? Quote
Durins Bane Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Does dol guldur battle include: gandalf, radagast, azog, necromancer, + 2 gundabad orcs? instead of big red beard, perhaps a smaller beard, thats some kind of blonde with red/orange bits in? DGB- Gandalf, radagast, azong, necromancer, 2 gundabad orcs. dark grey castle ruin with a statue of a woman. D.G. Ambush- Beorn with hatchet, @gundabad orcs, dark grey castle ruin. Dang it, Armored Thranduil is not what I wanted. Does he have his pointy crown? He has the crown hes wearing in all the trailers made of antlers or sticks or whatever. How did you see these? I dunno Quote
Fives Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I dunno Well, you must've gotten access to them somehow. Do you know someone at LEGO? Or did you find them online? Without a definitive reason, I'm really skeptical. The info you have seems official, and makes sense based on the prelims we've heard of, but without a how or why you got access to this info, it's hard to put absolute faith in your claims. Quote
Gryphon Ink Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I could be happy with just one more variation of an orc that doesn't have a stupid macrocephalic headpiece. Of course, two or more new variants would be awesome. But really, one new torso and one new head would increase the diversity of the orc population considerably. People will complain about how Region X's orcs are not supposed to look the same as Region Z's or Sublevel Y's and the armor is totally uncanonical, but I'm old school about my orcs: they're anonymous grunts in a sea of swords and shields. Except for a few named characters, they just aren't individuals and they don't need to look all that different. Give me a couple of different facial expressions and a new armor print, and save the resources for new hero minifigs. This wave is sounding pretty awesome so far. I hope it lives up to its buzz. I still haven't bought either of the big sets from LOTR Wave 2 because they simply fail to excite me. Quote

Without a definitive reason, I'm really skeptical. If he lies to us he will also lie about his source. I can understand that he is not keen on mentioning his source. Quote
Fives Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 One last question: what weapon does Thranduil have? Is it the same old Elf blade, or do we get a new sword? I really hope it's something new. Quote
legomonk Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 the elf blade not in gold would be great. Quote
Durins Bane Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 One last question: what weapon does Thranduil have? Is it the same old Elf blade, or do we get a new sword? I really hope it's something new. Nope he has aragorns longsword in dark grey. it sucks Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 A dark brown Warg? This just keeps getting better and better Quote
Fives Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Nope he has aragorns longsword in dark grey. it sucks Well that's stupid. A silver samurai sword would be WAY more appropriate. Quote
SMC Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) A dark brown Warg? This just keeps getting better and better yeah that does sound good I thought we would get the grey one again Edited October 16, 2013 by SMC Quote
Robert_88 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 @ Durins Bane: Any information about a third LOTR wave? Quote
N7LEGO Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 2 castle ruins :( At least, I hope they are both complementary... Quote
legomonk Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Warg in brwn is pretty awesome. i really cant wait to see the orcs though Quote
SMC Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 2 castle ruins :( At least, I hope they are both complementary... this is what I am worried about 4 sets that if you take out the minifigs no one would buy Quote
Fives Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I have a feeling that the two Dol Guldur sets will combine together to make one large structure. It's a clever way to give us a big Dol Guldur set through two smaller sets. If you were to combine the two sets, we'd have something similar in size and fig count as Helm's Deep. Quote
legomonk Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I liked that aspect of helmsdeep. I ended up buy 3 uruk hia army sets and adding them to my helmsdeep. It was a great feature that I hope they keep up. Quote
DragonKnights Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I am all for interlocking Dol Goldur sets...the bigger the better. I doubt Lego would make two concurrent sets focused on the same location and not create the ability to combine them. Quote
hench Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 DurinsBane, thanks for informations, but now I'm even more impatient! Quote

I doubt Lego would make two concurrent sets focused on the same location and not create the ability to combine them. but they are ruins so they might just be placed together, even build in the same set don't always have a way to combine them (goblin king, mines of moria) Quote
Mutant Orc Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) Dang it, Armored Thranduil is not what I wanted. Does he have his pointy crown? I know, but surely we could substitute !? There seem to be plenty of casual Elven robe prints that can be mixed with other parts... I'm looking forward to some new orcs, all I could do for variance was to mix them with goblins; Shame about the standard long sword instead of a proper elvish one, I've been playing the LOTR game and (as per usual with these Lego games) I got frustrated with prints and parts we should have, but don't!!! I know I may be late in saying this but, the design Deskp you have of the elven warrior in your signature is fantastic, I really like it!! Edited October 16, 2013 by Mutant Orc Quote
ZCerberus Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 A lot of talk for something still mostly unconfirmed. Not saying Durins is wrong, but let's slow our roll until we ALL see these things. Quote
