December 9, 201311 yr I can't get over the "great war leader, doesn't wear many clothes" look of Azog. You'd think being covered in scars and losing an arm would be enough to make him wear some armour. Bolg seems to have slightly picked up on his dad's failings with that shoulder armour, but it looks like it'd be another generation before anyone in the family thinks of investing in a helmet. It's a shame. because it would've made for two better-looking baddies, and two better-looking minifigs.

Azog inflicted his scars on himself btw, it's like tattoos, And The gundabad orcs do needs to stay fairly light cause they are riding around on wargs HUNTING not going to war, The soldier orcs that goes to the BO5A are decked out in proper armor, for all we know Azog might gear up this time around. December 9, 201311 yr Hmm, that new design is better than I expected, I still kinda like the old one though... He looks great in that video though!
December 9, 201311 yr To any interested here is the newest tv spot showing off I think one of the scenes DGB is based on!

December 10, 201311 yr My four Laketown Guard polybags I got during the BOGO arrived today! Such a great poly!
December 10, 201311 yr I like the new version of Bolg. He looks more like Azog's son than the previous design. But there was just something so menacing about the original version that was so captivating. Also, I really liked that video you posted, deskp. Am I the only one who is REALLy MAD LEGO didn't make the special head for the goblins!?! It looked so flipping perfect! ARGGH!!!
December 10, 201311 yr p. Am I the only one who is REALLy MAD LEGO didn't make the special head for the goblins!?! It looked so flipping perfect! ARGGH!!! Im not really mad about it, but I do think they look alot more right, casue they are a werid deformed bunch. Lego's bald cap solution makes their ehads tilt backwards, when in the movie all the goblins have their heads pointing forward. They did it to give us a more versatile piece, but lego has yet to use the bald cap on any non-goblin orcs. They should have made orange baldcap to give to the gundabad orcs, so we could have 3 hair/head configurations with them.
December 10, 201311 yr Lego should definitely include bald caps for the orcs, they look so unfinished without anything because they are lacking ears. I am so excited about the movie, especially after seeing that new TV clip! It is so difficult to avoid spoilers right now, I officially stopped looking a couple days ago. Thankfully, finals are keeping me busy so I am not tempted lol.
December 10, 201311 yr ^ December 17th, to be exact. It's actually December 13th, in the USA at least. TaB is December 17th, 2014. http://www.thehobbit.com/releasedates/ My four Laketown Guard polybags I got during the BOGO arrived today! Such a great poly! I've been looking for a week and they still haven't showed up at my local TRU! Hope the same thing doesn't happen like it did with the rest of the LotR/TH polybags… Edited December 10, 201311 yr by The_Creator

I love how the arch meets on an angle. Do you have the Lego Digital Designer file available online? Edited December 10, 201311 yr by phanstasm

The only issue is... it doesn't line up well with the piercings on the Mordor Orcs. Regardless I agree with Mahtion, I think all the orcs should have either the bald cap and ears or the hair and ears head piece, they look so bad without them.

Regardless I agree with Mahtion, I think all the orcs should have either the bald cap and ears or the hair and ears head piece, they look so bad without them. I completely agree. If some have massive ears, they all need them. I've BL'd bald caps and hair pieces so all my orcs and goblins have them, apart from a couple in Uruk helmets. The goblins I use in Moria because I wanted plenty of baddies, the orcs get used for everywhere, and it works well.
December 10, 201311 yr I think that there is a plenty of bad guys variation but what we need is some good characters, like regular soldiers from gondor, rohan and so on... we have: Moria orc Gundabad Orc Hunter orc Mordor Orc Uruk Hai Goblin (twice) Black Rider Necromant Mouth of Sauron Cave Troll Goblin King Brick built spiders Shelob Gollum Yazneg Azog Uruk Hai berserker Warg Umbar corsair Grima Saruman almost every unnamed character is massively produced (especially orcs) but there is way to small amount of good guys Rohan soldier (1 type) Theoden Eomer Haldir 4 type of elves Thranduil Elrond Arwen Dead soldiers (good or bad? :) ) Lake town guard + master Bard and Beorn Fellowship of the ring Dwarven company But what about rangers of ithilien? Gondor soldiers? Rohan riders? Elven knights? Some dwarves fromthe council even hobbits or some character from Bree, maybe some citizenns from Edoras, Minas Tirith, Elrond house... And also if they create sets like Corsair ship, they should also create some other Gondorian cities, at least one of them which is under attack of corsairs... And maybe I want to see some haradrim with their unique helmets and orient armour. There is so much potential... And to the baddies...where is twilight nazgul, fell beast, Oliphant, Watcher in the watter, more trolls, etc? So much potential and so much ideas for sets for 10 years forward :) This is interesting... http://lego-minifigures.tumblr.com/ check out LOTR 2014 sets list ... I know that these names been there quite while ago but this looks like believable...

December 10, 201311 yr Nice find Blazej_Holen, pretty much the same list as mentioned by someone else here on the forums. It proapbly is the source for it, and highly unrelaiable at that. I don't think we should start believeing any lsits before that is a proper source for it.
December 11, 201311 yr Yes, that's the exact same list some random guy with only a few post decided to give us. He couldn't show any pics or give any sort of evidence, just the set list that oddly enough had all the prices listed already (but at weird price points). Everyone seems to of ran with the list and now it's all over, but the source seemed extremely sketchy at best.
December 11, 201311 yr It is indeed the same list, beacause it comes from here : Look mat the source mentionned on the first website, then go to the second one (The Brick News) and then figure out it says that the list comes from Eurobricks.
December 11, 201311 yr Hopefully the real list, if there is one, will be coming out in the next few months! When are the set names usually releases? Edited December 11, 201311 yr by greeklad97

December 11, 201311 yr That list sounds very plausible, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up too much until we have a little more concrete evidence. However, whenever long yearly release lists like this surface, they tend to have some truth to them, so we'll see. If it is true, I would be content [while slightly annoyed at the exclusion of Faramir (who could be mistaken for the Ranger)] with this wave being the last slew of LOTR. While not perfect (no Balrog), we get the last few essentials from FOTR and ROTK to make for a satisfying finish to an amazing theme. Edited December 11, 201311 yr by Fives
December 11, 201311 yr I saw the movie yesterday. I'm a little bit disapointed because I only recognized "The Lake Town Chase", "The Mirkwood Spiders" and "Barrels Escape" sets in the movie. I donno if the other sets are based on TABA or just failed representations of some scenes...
December 11, 201311 yr Amon Hen Ambush seems useless to me. We already have Boromir, Merry and Uruk-hai. Instead of that I would prefer Bridge of Khazad-dûm with Gandalf (yes, another), Balrog and 2 Moria orcs with new helmets and armor. Edited December 11, 201311 yr by Mr. Cube

MEA is a "battlepack" inspired by the movie, basically a way for them to give us Thranduil etc, without having to making a scene from the film. as for DGA Did you really not connect that that the whole Azog/necromancer/gandalf event was the same as in the lego set? the Architechture might have cahnged after all of PJ's changes, but It's still very much dolg guldur in its same style, with the same characthers.
