Only Sinner Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Don't bash the video reviewers, you guys. Some of them are on EB and I watch all their reviews. They work hard (mostly) to put together something nice for us to see and I think some of them do a pretty good job. There will be some new reviews coming up shortly featuring the new LOTR and Castle, and I look forward to the video and standard reviews. Quote
The Legonater Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 So is the Eye in the Council of Elrond the same as the one in the Wizard Battle? Quote
Darth Lurtz Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 So is the Eye in the Council of Elrond the same as the one in the Wizard Battle? No, One is a minifigure's head while the other is a sticker. Quote

My opinion is that if you don't know what you're talking about you shouldn't really talk about it. Most video reviews reek of people just putting up videos to get views, and all they say is useless, obvious or false/misinformed. ("this is just an awesome set, it's so cool" "you get 3 minifigures" etc) I just don't bother watching (especially listening to) "reviews", most of the time the set speaks for itself. I look at the official photos, the box art and read the discussions on EB prior to purchase if that, they tell you more than a video review ever could. Quote
N7LEGO Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 The 2013 LOTR sets are now available at the Lille Lego Store Quote
Cammo Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 The 2013 LOTR sets are now available at the Lille Lego Store Thx for the heads up. But I will only pay a visit when the Orthanc Tower is available. What are the Lille prices btw? Quote
Moexy Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 (edited) For the Belgian fans: The new LOTR sets are also available on the collishop.be site, so probably also in the Dreamland stores (they are a bitt pricey tho, especially the Council of Elrond set ) Edited May 29, 2013 by Moexy Quote
Wat Tambor Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Thx for the heads up. But I will only pay a visit when the Orthanc Tower is available. What are the Lille prices btw? Yeah, would be interesting to know the prices for France, should be the same for Germany as well. Quote
N7LEGO Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 (edited) Thx for the heads up. But I will only pay a visit when the Orthanc Tower is available. What are the Lille prices btw? The official prices: - 14.99 for the Wizzard Battle - 39.99 for the Council of Elrond - 59.99 for Battle at the Black Gate (if I remember well) - 99.99 for Pirate Ship Ambush I saw them at Dreamland last weekend but to pricey !!!! - 17.99 for the Wizzard Battle - 44.00 for the Council of Elrond - 129.00 for Pirate Ship Ambush !!! I won't buy the Tower of Orthanc too quickly because nothing offered for the VIP's on the 17th so I'll wait for a special offer or a "X2 points" day. I'll just buy the Pirate Ship the 1rst June to have the Jor-El Polybag. Edited May 29, 2013 by N7LEGO Quote

I'll just buy the Pirate Ship the 1rst June to have the Jor-El Polybag. I've seen a few people say they're waiting for double points to get Orthanc but (at Us retail) that's only going save you an extra $10. I would think another Jor-El bag would sell for more than that easily. So I'm not worried about waiting for another promotion, just figuring out when and how to put it in my budget. Quote
Cammo Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Merci N7LEGO As usual Belgian and Dutch prices are higher than the French and the Germans. Orthanc also costs 29.99 more here. Planning a trip in a month or two to Lille then or order via amazon I guess. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I think we're all assuming this, but has there been any solid confirmation that the sets will be available from S@H in the U.S. on June 1? I would hate to get my hopes up for ordering these on Saturday for nothing. Quote

Call your local store for confirmation. Quote
Lynx Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Here is a nice written review of the Council of Elrond: http://www.brothers-brick.com/2013/05/28/the-lord-of-the-rings-79006-the-council-of-elrond-review/ I also have a little request: Would anybody be able to upload a picture of Elrond for my avatar, please? I'd love to have one in the exact same style as now but with his serious face. Quote

Fives Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Went to the Sherway TRU and found all the new sets. Picked up the Black Gate, Council and Wizard Battle. Haven't had a chance to build the sets, but I've built the Minifigs, and I must say, Gandalf the White and the Mouth are my two favourite LOTR figs. Quote

Double Points or another polybag/offer because I'll have Jor-El saturday 1rst when I'll buy Battle At The Black Gate so no need to hurry for the Tower of Orthanc. As Cammo said, maybe it will be more interesting to wait a better price on Amazon BUT if there is a surprise (like a Radagast polybag ) for the VIP on June 17th, I'll be among the firsts people at the opening of my LEGO Store. TheDoctor Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Maybe Radagast the Brown ? That would be amazing! But do you think that they'd make a new hat piece just for a polybag? Quote
just2good Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I really do hope they do a Radagast polybag, but it seems a bit unlikely. I doubt the would make a new hat piece- if anything, it would look like the one in the Orthanc picture. Quote

I doubt the would make a new hat piece- if anything, it would look like the one in the Orthanc picture. I feel doubtful about this, too. But I think Bofur's hat would work for Radagast. It's not exactly right, but close enough for me. Quote
