Str0ngbad Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I feel doubtful about this, too. But I think Bofur's hat would work for Radagast. It's not exactly right, but close enough for me. I would weep bitterly. Bofur's hat is iffy even as on a purist custom. I highly doubt Lego would be so cheap in this area. Radagast will probably be in a set this December. I wouldn't expect to see anything truly new in an LOTR poly this year. A soldier of the dead poly would be really cool but I doubt they will do that since it lessens the need to buy the corsair ship. I'll be ending up with a few Jor-Els even though I dont reslly care about him but I figure I can turn them for $10 easily enough. I totally understand waiting for budget reasons though. I may end up having to do that myself. Quote
Legoman123 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Does anyone think we will ever see the blue wizards in lego ? Quote
Leo604 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Does anyone think we will ever see the blue wizards in lego ? Only if they have appearances in the next two movies. They weren't that prominent in the books to begin with either. Quote
Legoman123 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Only if they have appearances in the next two movies. They weren't that prominent in the books to begin with either. I know that, but wouldn't it be great to get all five wizards of middle Earth. I would buy that set any day, even if it was just for those two minifigures. Quote
BeardedNerdSE Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 The blue wizards aren't going to be in the movies, so they will probably, probably not be included in Lego's license either. Note that Gandalf wasn't allowed to mention their names (Alatar and Pallando) as they aren't named in The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings. New Line doesn't have the rights to the books where they are named. It's cool that they are still referenced in Orthanc. I think that's all we're likely to get. Quote
Deathleech Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 The blue wizards definitely won't be seen in Lego form. They weren't even mentioned by name in the first Hobbit film, let alone seen. Why would Lego make minifigures of them (even if they had the rights to) when there are so many other more pivotal options to still tackle? Quote
Fives Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Has anyone noticed a sort of trend going on with the new wave of sets? The Eye! It's on the box, and appears in essentially three of the new sets (it doesn't physically appear in the Black Gate set, but that whole scene is about distracting the Eye). The first wave was all about the Fellowship, this wave all about villains, so next wave could logically be all about Gondor and the victory against Sauron. Quote

We shall see ;) I personally find this line of sets ''worse'' than the first... but maybe thats just because Helm's Deep is 10 times better than Pirate ship Ambush set overall (piece count, figures, pieces color etc) Sadly the ship adds 0 value to my future MOCs unless kept together and complete so I will buy it probably without figures and populate it with my own troops! but not this year! will wait prices to lower alot! TheDoctor Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I think the Orthanc more than makes up for this lines faults, of which there are few. Speaking of which, i've never taken advantage of a VIP promotion before, how will you get it early? Do you just go onto the VIP promotions page and it will be there on the 17th? Quote

Fives Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 ^Thanks. Also, noticing the quality of the new wizard and elf hair pieces, as well as the Mouth's helmet, it is really evident that LEGO has become a lot better at making high quality rubbery pieces. Quote
Bytor Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 So today i called my local Lego store(fairview mall, Toronto, Canada), and the employee there said that Corsair ship is gonna be delayed in Canada. There's apparently some issue with production. So much for buying every set this Saturday Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 ^ That seems odd, since it's been spotted at retail already. Unless there was something wrong with some of the Canadian shipments specifically... Quote
Fives Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 ^That makes no sense. I was at the Sherway TRU, and they had quite a few Corsair ships on the shelf. Quote
Legoman123 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 How many more wave of the LOTR theme do you think we will see ? Quote
Aegis1984 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Well, I just picked up the Council of Elrond, Battle at the Black Gate and Wizard battle from the local Walmart. $15.86 CDN for Wizard battle, $34.86 CDN for the Council and $74.86 CDN for the Black Gate. The Black Gate can be combined into two, just like the Horizon Express, except it would give you two gates. I'm sure if I decide to drop money on a second, I'd find a way to make it a single gate. I'd also want to double the height of it too. Quote

Leo604 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 How many more wave of the LOTR theme do you think we will see ? Probably just one more. Quote
Legoman123 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) Probably just one more. Thanks for that. If we do only get one more wave I do really want Lego to make the last ship because that would be awesome. Plus we can get an old bilbo that way as well. Edited May 31, 2013 by Legoman123 Quote

Plus we can get an old bilbo that way as well. of all other amazing ground stuff in battles presentend like Olifonts, easterlings, harradrim, Ithilien rangers, Gondor soldiers, White tower guards, even Balrog, you would want a set ''wasted'' on a ship that played no importance to story except closing it down. 2 ships in 3 waves for a movie where nothing happens with ships apart from 3 minutes of a trilogy. I mean believe me I would LOVE that ship to be done BUT not if we only get 3 waves... then I would prefer: Olifont set (with easterlings and haradrims) Ithilien rangers set Gondor soldiers set (minas tirith) Witch King set (with Eowyn) Besides what playfeatures would that ship get :P bilbo getting sick ? :D Quote
Gremer Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) Besides what playfeatures would that ship get :P bilbo getting sick ? :D They're LEGO, they'll find a way to incorporate flick-fires. Somehow. Edited May 31, 2013 by Gremer Quote

Plus we can get an old bilbo that way as well. You are the only other person I e seen ask for this. Granted, there are much more important sets to be taken care of first. It could be a lovely set but it's not going to happen. I expect to be more excited for this winter's hobbit sets than the last. A little less focus on the company and more on other characters could give us so much goodness. I fear we're due another Legolas and Tauriel but hopefully it will be with a Thranduil. Radagast, Galadriel, Beorn, maybe the Necromancer... Bard, Smaug... I get giddy thinking about it. Edited May 31, 2013 by Str0ngbad Quote
scottjs Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 That employee seems to be misinformed, you can buy all the sets including the ship on both Chapters and TRU's websites. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Probably just one more. While that may be true, we could just as easily get two more waves - one in Summer 2014 and another in Summer 2015, after each remaining Hobbit film. It all depends on sales; which, unfortunately, up to this point we have heard no official word about. Quote
