N7LEGO Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 (edited) I would like to know that too but for French official Lego stores. And if they do, do you have to ask the employee or are will the tower be on the shelves? I asked to the employee at the Lille LEGO Store and he said me that you'll have to ask it because the sets won't be on the shelves Edited June 8, 2013 by N7LEGO Quote

I know that mine often doesn't have a couple new sets out because it is small. They said it would be available either way though. Just over one week to wait! Quote
Lynx Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Its so great that its usually super easy to mod away the stupid 'play fatures' I've kindof been udnerestimating this wave of lotr, cause initially i got grumy with the new minifig selection, but it's great! (as long as theres a Faramir coming later ;) ) I couldn't agree more! The only play feature left standing is the Gimli catapult in Imladris, but I will take it out as soon as I have a second set to combine. And Faramir is certainly among my top 3 most wanted minifigs now! Quote
Str0ngbad Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 I got two of the council sets on the first and didn't use either eye sticker. I'm thinking they could be put to much better use on a couple banners. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Well as far as I know the hot dog stand is the only freebie per the calendar. But it would be nice to have a surprise freebie a lá LOTR. Quote
Kez Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Just finished modding 2 Black Gates: That looks great, all of these pictures are persuading me to buy a second black gate and combine the two, although I'd think I'd sell the extra set of figures apart from the orcs Quote
Darth Caedus Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Just finished modding 2 Black Gates: Were you able to do that with only pieces that game in the set? Quote
LegoThomas Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 (edited) Were you able to do that with only pieces that game in the set? I think i almost used spare parts from the 2nd gate, like from the rocks left and right. But for the walkway needed some additional brown plates. I also added some bricks to close a couple gaps in the front of the gate. Edited June 9, 2013 by LegoThomas Quote

We're getting a Middle Earth Hot Dog Stand! I can't wait. That will look perfect parked outside of Orthanc. Will it be a traditional Dwarvish dog dealer? Or those weird Elvish Tofu things? Quote

Deathleech Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 In one of the new set reviews, the poster mentioned the new graphic at the top of the box that depicts Barad-dur. Does anyone else see this as yet another sign a third wave is planned? Think about it, the first wave had Sauron's finger and the One ring at the top. The first film centers around the ring specifically and the forming of the Fellowship to get rid of it. The second film is called Two Towers and on the second wave we just so happen to have one of the towers present. Does this mean the box art for the third will have something relating heavily to the Return of the King? Or, am I just looking to much into this? Thoughts? Quote

If anything, the second "Two Towers" wave should have had a logo related to Saruman, he being the main villain of that movie. A White Hand or an Orthanc would have worked well. If we are to read that much into the box art, this would actually seem to indicate that this is the final wave, since Barad-Dur is the focus of the third movie. But really I think TLG just wanted icons of the trilogy, and the Ring and the Eye are the two best-known icons. However, I do believe a third wave is planned, and might feature Minas Tirith in the box art. Now watch as the latest wild rumor starts, when people start saying that the box art indicates that this IS the last LOTR wave. Quote

I do agree Orthanc probably would of made more sense though, since the second movie seems to focus more on Saruman and Orthanc than on Barad-dur. Of course we also get Orthanc that wave (though Orthanc's box art doesn't seem to have any image at the top so I guess technically it's not a part of wave 2?). Maybe it's a stretch, but I just thought it was kind of coincidental both images used so far are from depicting part of the film titles, and they related to the order of the films. Then again the images are pretty iconic so it could be purely coincidental. Edited June 10, 2013 by Deathleech Quote

8BrickMario Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 So if you're going by titles, Deathleech, will the next wave have Aragorn or the White Tree of Gondor in the box art? I do think the White City is pretty likely, though. Quote
Deathleech Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Huh? Which review/set? One of the reviews Lego Freaks posted a few days ago. He just mentioned he liked the new box art and image which made me think about them. So if you're going by titles, Deathleech, will the next wave have Aragorn or the White Tree of Gondor in the box art? I do think the White City is pretty likely, though. I have no idea, I was thinking maybe the crown but Minas Tirith could be a likely candidate as well. Quote
Alcarin Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I guess it will either be Aragorn in Gondor attire or Minas Tirith or White Tree! Quote
LegoThomas Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Or the witch king as the ultimate personification of saurons evil mind... Just hoping they do a fellbeast/witch king set somehow like this: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/41453 Quote

Doctor_ocks Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 (edited) Not sure if anyone else has seen them at a physical Target store, but I went to two Targets in the Omaha, NE area and both had spots for the new sets with price tags but both were empty. Not sure if they BOTH sold out or if they were just marking places. Edited June 10, 2013 by Doctor_ocks Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I think the box art represents the wave. The 1st wave had the Ring because it was focused on the Fellowship. The 2nd had the Eye because it was about villains. I'm guessing the 3rd will be about Gondor. Quote
LegoThomas Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I don't think the box art has anything to do with the sets in the wave. Like the second wave: why should it be the villain wave? With sets like e. Council and pirateship. Doesnt make sense to me. Or the first wave: the fellowship? Helms deep and uruk hay f.e. arent really fellowship sets. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Yes, they should be on the shelves at the Lego stores on June 17th. Quote
