Maybe the rumored set "Council of elrond" is actually the white council from the hobbit instead of the council that created the fellowship? It would definitely make more sense including galadriel gandalf saruman and elrond rather than legolas, gimili, elrond, frodo, gandalf, boromir, or anyone else that was present at the formation of the fellowship. All of the figs that could be included for the scene from LOTR have already been released atleast once and some more than once. Compared to the hobbit council where the only re-release would be gandalf and elrond (and having two elronds is never a problem though lol)

Just want to point out the name though.. currently it's being listed as the Council of Elrond, not the The White Council (or something similar). If it were portraying the scene from the Hobbit I think the name would be something more along the ladder since it was Saruman who called the meeting and not Elrond? I certainly hope not because, as has been stated, a White council set would be MUCH better in terms of new minifigures offered.

Notice that most of the stuff that Lego has released, that required custom molds, have been of subjects that were released in promo information quite awhile ago. We knew what the Goblin King would look like, We knew what the Wargs would look like. We knew what Yazneg would look like. The Trolls were fairly secret until the last trailer, Azog's look was secret until the movie released, and while we have seen some set pics of Beorn's house, we have not had any actual looks at Beorn himself yet. From the set we know he is quite large, so probably somewhere in the size range of Hagrid from HP.

Well we did get a glimpse of Beorn in bear form in the movie scroll poster several months ago. Granted it was just his bear form, but ya. This actually makes me wonder if Lego did a set based on his home which Beorn would we get in it.. human, bear, or both? I would think human in that set since he is human for it, and then if/when Lego does a Battle of the Five Armies set we would get him in bear form.

It will be interesting to see if they go backwards chronologically to cover material they've missed, though I'm certainly not expecting it.

I have wondered about this too. I would think Lego would have to go back now since they already made two sets from the second film, but who knows what new stuff Jackson has added to the films. Right now the second wave could have a Smaug, Lake Town, Beorn's Hut, and maybe a Thranduil's Palace set if it's based strictly on the second film. I don't know when the Dol Goldur battle takes place so that may or may not be in the second film.

I'm assuming the Dol Guldur battle will take place in 'Desolation of Smaug'.

There were no large battles in 'An Unexpected Journey' (just like FOTR), so the second film would have Dol Guldur,

and the third would have The Battle of Five Armies.

Ya that's what I am assuming too. Plus in the book, Gandalf leaves the dwarves right before they enter Mirkwood to go to the council and handle the necromancer, which would be a little bit after the second film starts (they go from the eagle's dropping them off, toBeorn's hut, then to Mirkwood).

What exactly is the battle of Dol Guldar? is this referring to the white council or gandalf driving the necormancer from the fortress dol guldar? Is this explained in a book soemwhere? i would love to read about it but wow that would make an awesome set. I could only imagine the the cool figs that could be a part of it and i dont even now who is involved lol.

Spoiler (i dont now how to make it so it doesnt show unless you push the button)

If were assuming TLG is going to release sets in chronological order, then it doesnt look very promising for a beorn set. The company leaves boern's house to enter mirkwood and we have already seen the two main events of Mirkwood occur in set form, the spiders and barrel escape, although they could probably still expand on the wood elves. If were going chronologically then i would assume the next set would be a laketown set, lonely mountain hidden doorway set (im betting this ends up being one), something with sneaking into the mountain with bilbo maybe, something with smaug although i dont see it being released prior to the movie. Im really interested to see the movie storyline since legolas and Taureil are included in the mirkwood spiders set. One of the biggest aspects of this scene in the book, is bilbo proving himself or atleast beginning to prove himself to the dwarfs by rescueing them, if legolas and tauriel do alot of the rescueing in this part in the movie, then that could be why PJ added the part at the end of the the first hobbit movie with bilbo rescueing Thorin from Azog and Thorin thanking him after the eagles drop them off. I also think the eagles nest set is very unlikely considering when the eagles rescue the company they dont even take them to thier nest. Why would TLG release something thats not even in the movie unless PJ is planning to cross it back in somewhere down the line, but i hope the eagles dont talk. I do hope we see some eagles in sets though,

The Battle of Dul Guldar is never described in any detail in Tolkiens works. It's like Radagast. You know its there. You know what it is more or less, and you know where it belongs, based on references to it in various writings. But he never goes out and gives great details of it.

Wow that is pretty sweet. THoser are built out of larger legos right? did they make it themselves or was this in cooperation with TLG? very cool

Nope. It's built from standard Lego parts. Pretty fantastic if you ask me.

Where was that shown off at? What event?

If you scroll to the right more you can also see ALL the dwarves with their Lego Hobbit counterparts (I know we have seen Gandalf and Bilbo and some of the dwarves, but I havn't seen most of those other pics till now).

*snip*

It's not yet been shown off at an event but presumably at another lego event that will be early on next year, I think the pictures of that were taken at the workshop where they built most of the big version of the bag end model.

Having finally seen The Hobbit yesterday, I now fully understand all this discussion of the Pale Orc. While I would have much proffered to get him in the Warg set, there is still a huge chance we will see him in sets based on the next two films, which means that, in the end, we will have gotten both Yazneg (who is a decent Orc fig) and the Pale Orc (who has offiacially become my favourite Orc, and most wanted Orc fig ever)

have they said how many peices they used?

It took a team of 12 model shop employees 3,000 hours to build this life size model of the LEGO Bag End set. In addition to containing over 2 million 1×1 bricks this model has working lights in the fireplace and over the bookstand as well as a chimney that really smokes!

A Beorn set is still on the table. Chronological order is irrelevant and simply imposing fanboyism on lego's release sceme. Winter 2013 will have probably 5-7 sets all from The Desolation of Smaug. The spiders have already been accounted for, as have the barrels. Laketown is a big contender, and a set of Smaug himself is a given. Dol Guldur will probably also be on the table as a large set. That wipes out the high-price slots, so we could easily get stuff like the back-door, Beorn encounter or Thranduil's throne as medium or small range sets.

The rumors are spreading, on more and more sites these four numbers are discussed:

79005 The Wizard Battle

79006 The Council of Elrond

79007 Battle at the Black Gate

79008 Pirate Ship Ambush

Looks like a good start, am hoping for:

Gandalf the White, Grimas and Saruman (79005)

Piece of Rivendel and a lot of elves (79006)

Battlepack (79007)

Dead men walking and corsairs (79008)

am just wondering where the Balrog and Witchking went...

How realistic is it for lego to release only 4 sets? I havn't followed lego in many years, but I think they always released like 6 sets in each wave, right?

True... still hoping for two or three of the following additions for the next wave:

- Treebeard

- Balrog

- Pelenor Fields - Witchking on a fellbeast with Èowyn, maybe King Theoden and merry

Those all look to be great aditions to the names you mentioned earlier, but there's still so much we would miss: Lorién (Galadriel, Celeborn), Faramir/rangers, Minas Tirith (Denethor, Citadel Guards with nice helmets), Easterlings, Barad-Dur, Minas Morgul, Edoras (or some other civilian setting) etc. The options are endless and if they continue in the manner of the first wave I have high hopes although I doubt we will see EVERY big event/location in a set.

Guys, this set Elrond council belong to LOTR sets, because we know only 4 Lotr sets that they will be releasted, but I believe that they will include more 2-3 The Hobbit sets at the same time.If they made Eagles nest set,I really want to se Azog in this set, because eagles saved dwarves,Bilbo and Gandalf from Azog and orcs, and wargs, but we didn't see Azog in Attack of the wargs set, because we get Yazneg who wasn't in this scene, but Azog wasn't in the book and Peter Jackson decide to include him in the movie, but LEGO team didn't know that,so I really want to get him in Eagles nest set

I don't think we're going to see any Eagle's nests in the movie, so the set would never happen.

Perhaps the Eagle's Nest set we heard rumored a while back was a reference to the Carrock, where the Eagles take Thorin and Co. after the Warg attack. If that we're the case (which, while it would be cool, I hope it isn't) would mean that this next summer wave will be an LOTR/The Hobbit mix. But I really doubt that will happen. More likely that these are the only sets that have been leaked so far. There could be more to come. Possibly a larger exclusive set. Who knows. All I can say is that the list we have so far sounds fantastic, and I'm very glad to see more ROTK stuff.

Eagles nest is from The Hobbit

I expect the Black Gate will be similar in size and price as Weathertop. Two horses and five figs. That should give us Brego and Mordor horse, Aragorn in Gondorian armour, Mouth of Sauron, Gandalf the White, and perhaps two orcs or something.

I hope Isengard will be larger set, hopefully the flagship set of the wave. And possibly we'll get a variation of Gandalf the Grey with hair and a more tired face print to make it seem a bi different, along with Saruman, maybe Grima, and some orcs. Heck, maybe a small Warg pen with a brown Warg.

I expect the Corsair Ship to be the Moria of the wave. Only there won't be a troll, which makes room for more figs and pieces.

As for Rivendell, as long as we see a new Elrond and an Arwen, and maybe old Bilbo, I'm happy.
