Fives Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 A white Azog, if true, is worth the wait. Even if the colour is the only change they make, its a change that will make the fig look epic! They better make his tribal scars dark red. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Very nice set, I like the two buildings! Quote
deskp Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) He said something bout white so I think that means that the SDCC tan version is exclusive whilst the set version will be white What did he say exactly? did he say the azog figure will be white or what. A white Azog, if true, is worth the wait. Even if the colour is the only change they make, its a change that will make the fig look epic! They better make his tribal scars dark red. He's scars are never red thoguh, I don't think they should do that. They are scars, not fresh cuts. Aaaand here's what an white Azog might look like: Edited July 21, 2013 by deskp Quote

deskp Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) He said.... 'Hi, to answer your question I will say Yes, the Azog minifigure seen as an 'exclusive' at SDCC will come to a set in The Hobbit, although he will be slightly different..as he is called 'The Pale Orc' him in white would look nicer wouldn't it? Keep Building, Mark' There. thats the email... I must say your Azog there looks GREAT! Thanks, that makes more sense. W ith alot of what gets said and resaid online you start scrutinising and doubting what most people say other people have said. Edited July 21, 2013 by deskp Quote
KristofBD Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Thanks for the info, sand mirror. I actually think Azog does not look that bad in tan. But white will be ok as well. I hope they find a solution for the arms - that's the only thing that is really bothering me about the fig. Quote
WEREWOLF Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 what can we do to PROVE that Azog will be in future sets of The Hobbit (a different color or print can be a factor) the most i will do for the sdcc Azog will trade a new Elrond for Azog! Quote
SandMirror38 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Thanks for the info, sand mirror. Your welcome! Quote
Shroffy123 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Let's hope the news that an Azog minifig will be in later sets makes it out to the masses, so some poor sucker doesn't end up spending 1000(!!!) Dollars on the sdcc exclusive Quote
Krulis Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 FBTB has pics of Laketown Chase: http://www.fbtb.net/2013/07/21/sdcc-79103-lake-town-chase-preview/ Those figs are great. Quote

Dollars on the sdcc exclusive If I were wealthy i'd waste wahtever it cost to get the figs. its all relative whats expensive to some isn't to others. Theres lego fans of all types. Quote
Mutant Orc Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) If i was stinking rich (rather than just stinking) I'd spend the money on an Azog. But when I think about it part of the experience is saving and waiting to get stuff, then you appreciate it more... I want an Azog- hopefully a set version will be exactly the same just in white! Just looked at the Laketown images in good quality and the interiors of the set- it is so bland, parts of this set look very poor. I'll still buy it - otherwise they'd be a gap i my collection, but it's some of the figs that make the set... Edited July 21, 2013 by Mutant Orc Quote
Shroffy123 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 That's beyond me. The most I've ever spent on a single minifig was 10 dollars for a series 2 spartan. And that was after I negotiated it down from 20. I don't know, it just upsets me the amount some on ebay charge for Legos. Specially for earlier releases on sets. It bothers me that some choose to encourage the behavior by providing them the demand :( Quote
deskp Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Except for my color issue with Bard, the figs are fantasic, all the prints are marvelous, The Smiling version of The master really does look like Stephen Fry, The Laketown guard is to die for, Hes got a goofy helmet and very colorfull clotes YET he appears very organic and naturall and serious, They did a Fantastic job on this guy! I have no issues with this figure at all! (His weapon however blerg) Thorins blue shirt is nice, I can see people using it for generic villagers. I do however find that alot of lego characther who gets capes ends up loosing a bit of the elegance, they just turn into odd blobs.. I think lego should start making Dwalin style capes instead, looks much more elegant Quote
KristofBD Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 The figs are simply gorgeous, the the buildings are indeed very bland... Especially the interiors! It looks like we will get the gothic arch in brown? I also love the printed shields on the boat (and we get two of them!) Quote
deskp Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I think the overview of the display is worth posting, lego did a very nice job with their display "backdrops" this year. Incidentaly the reflection haze from the glass gives the scene a nice cold winter mist. Quote
Xcod119 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I wonder if there is a small room in the little guard house, not the main house. Also when will be seeing a fell beast? Quote
SandMirror38 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Where are the pictures of inside the houses? Quote
deskp Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I wonder if there is a small room in the little guard house, not the main house. Also when will be seeing a fell beast? Where are the pictures of inside the houses? Pictures are on fbtb.net There is an empty room behind the door that swings up, no doubt supposed to be a hiding spod when Bard is being chased. There won't be a fell beast in a Hobbit set, wich would leave lotr, wich would make that a 2014 discussion, or rather "future lotr sets" topic, Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Has anyone noticed the building error on the taller of the two buildings......the mini-catapult is first upside down and I think it's mean't to be mounted on that 2x2 turntable as well. They must have been in a hurry at ComicCon to put it out on display ! Quote

They must have been in a hurry at ComicCon to put it out on display ! Ive noticed it, but i think it's jsut broken off in shipping and the people resposble for it didn't know where to put it, Maybe thought it was an asseccory and put it on the upper floor. Also note that they had a day to fix it after the the MTV appearance but didn't. So there was no hurry. Quote
SandMirror38 Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 wow those buildings have VERY boring interior Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 wow those buildings have VERY boring interior Ah, but they leave it us wonderful AFOL's to redesign the interiors to make them pop. Quote

lightningtiger Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Yes indeed, any idea of price in AUD? Well, since it's 49.99 USD....my guess 69 bucks and up from there.......good question is general release or a retailer exclusive ? Quote
