December 24, 201212 yr Just found this image of the in game Mouth of sauron, the helmet and printing look good, this could be the actual one in the set (black gate). Awesome! His arms are the same color as the Orcs have but with a light grey helmet, right? His sword looks unique as well. It would make for a fine orc leader/captain!

December 24, 201212 yr It would be awesome to get him but honestly i would be very surprised. He was cut from the theatrical release of the film and I can't think of a less likely to be included in a kids set. i think the blackgate will be more about the battle and therefore not likely to onclude him. I think a King Aragorn, Gandalf the White, Pippin in Gondorian armor, a troll, 2 mordor orcs and if we got a fell beast i would be pretty pleased. Just for the record i'd be very pleased if the Mouth of Sauron was in it but i think it's highly unlikely.
December 24, 201212 yr I had an idea for the black gate, TLG could make it a bit like the helms deep wall except taller, so they would release the main set, and an army builder, so if you wanted to expand the length of the gate, you could. The builder set would come something like 2 orcs and 1 gondor, and one rohan soldier, it would be around £20 I don't think the wave has the room for a set like this with the rumored items. Also I think we will get two polybags like usual and one will be a Gondor soldier and the other will be someone like a Gandalf the White or an Easterling/Haradrim OR most likely an Oathbreaker to build up the Corsair set. I don't understand the obsession with including a Rohan Soldier. There are already three horses in a potential Black Gate set and would Lego have four horses in one set. Also it ruins the dynamics of the set piece having that many but two (Aragorn and Gandalf the White) versus Mouth of Sauron plus one Gondor soldier on foot and one Mordor Orc or two on foot would be perfect. No need for Rohirrim, we have them in Uruk-Hai Army and may see them again in a Pelennor Fields set with Legolas and Mumakil.

I don't get your reasoning (and that of those others who said the same thing). They had Uruk-hai and other "scary" looking creatures in sets, and even if the reasoning is the fact the Mouth of Sauron had his head cut off, so did Lurtz, even in the LEGO LOTR video game. The only reason they might not want to include the figure is the fact that it wasn't in the theatrical release of the film, yes, but still.
December 24, 201212 yr The Easternlings look cool too! http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Easterling Yea,but we will get them probably in another set, because this set is about the battle in front of the black gates, that is not the scene when Frodo,Sam and Gollum are in front of them

December 24, 201212 yr The mouth of sauron figure from that picture looks awesome, hopefully if there is a black gate set he'll be in it
December 24, 201212 yr What do You guys think about my custom Radagast the Brown? http://cache.lego.com/media/nxtlog/1470e8a8-76c9-43b1-aceb-1221c957c873/800x600/image201212170004.jpg

Makes me really hope we see an official Radagast in the future! As for the Mouth of Sauron discussion, I have a really strong feeling that we will get him in the Black Gate set. People have been using the argument that he didn't appear in the theatrical release of the film. But it's been almost a decade since the extended editions of the films were released, so the Mouth has become a more recognizable character over that time. Plus, when the list was first leaked, we were also given a brief description of the retailers catalogue images (which would have been prelim images), and the Black Gate was said to have the Witch-King. But given the fact that the Witch-King never appears in a scene there and the prelim image likely made it unclear exactly who it was, it makes sense that it is the Mouth. Also, we have seen in the past that LEGO is not afraid to make subtle references to the books in their sets (Palantir altar in the Weathertop set), so given the fact that the Mouth is better known for his ooh appearance, but also appears in the films, we will likely see him as a fig.
December 24, 201212 yr The Mouth of Sauron minifig looks amazing! I'm crossing my fingers that it finds its way into the Black Gate set. It would probably be the one and only chance for it to be made (unless it was released as as promo, of course).
December 24, 201212 yr I love the Mouth of Sauron minifigure. I really hope he appears in the Black Gate set. P.S LordoftheBricks, I love that custom Radagast, especially the staff. Edited December 24, 201212 yr by Mr_Malfoy
December 24, 201212 yr Nice Radagast! I'll bet The Mouth will be in the Black Gate set. Does anyone think we'll get the towers of the teeth in the set?
December 24, 201212 yr No need for Rohirrim, we have them in Uruk-Hai Army and may see them again in a Pelennor Fields set with Legolas and Mumakil. Would be interesting to see what scale LEGO makes the Mumakil (i'm assuming this is the elephant thing) in. The elephants looked amazing in the Jackson movie.

They're quite cool in the video game. A good scale too. Several pieces, but molded like the newest dinosaurs. I'd love to see a sort of large battle pack with them, in a price range like the Uruk-hai Army.
December 24, 201212 yr In The Black Gate set,I really want to see: -Mouth of Sauron -Aragorn in Gondorian armor -Gandalf the White -Merry in Rohan armor -Pippin in Gondorian armor -Gondorian soldier -Rohirrim or Rohan soldier (in some different printings and helmet) -2x Mordor orcs in armor printings and different helmets -Olog-Hai I know that is soo many minifigures, but why not? Do You remember that Death star set has over 30 minifigures,so why not? I reqlla need al of these minifigures, because I have idea for my new stop-motion,and it will be parody, but for that stop-motion,I really need all of this minifigures,so why not to get 9 minifigures+ Olog-Hai,maybe more of Gondorian,Rohan or Miordor orcs.Do You agree guys?
December 24, 201212 yr It'd be cool but I don't see it happening. I thought I remember a post saying the black gate is only supposed to have 5-6 minifigs or something like that. I think the first five you named are highly likely but I don't see them throwing in alot of nameless soldiers although it would be awesome having all of those. Although im all for having the mouth of sauron fig, I do think its strange that we would get him before some other bigger characters in the movies. Galadriel, faramir, denethor, gandalf the white(even though he will probably be released in the same wave) the witching of angmar, and im sure there are others.
December 25, 201212 yr What do You guys think about my custom Radagast the Brown? http://cache.lego.co...01212170004.jpg What was the piece used for his head? Are there any other sets in the future that the Easterlings could be in?
December 25, 201212 yr What do You guys think about my custom Radagast the Brown? http://cache.lego.co...01212170004.jpg I love that Radagast! I actually had the very same idea with that hat, and I ws planning to upload a picture later when it's released from it's carboard prison. Nice idea with Nori's (that is Nosri's head right?) head, I was just gonna use Gandalf's or Balin's until I got the Goblin King Battle.

December 25, 201212 yr The Death Star has 24 figures, plus the Dianoga. It is huge, expensive, an exclusive, and belongs to a long-running, highly successful theme. LEGO will not be chucking an army of figures into just any LOTR set anytime soon. I think a reasonable selection for The Black Gate would be: Gandalf the White Aragorn Mouth of Sauron (yes, I think this is likely) One Gondor Soldier Two Mordor Orcs One Olog-hai And possibly ONE of the Hobbits (whichever is involved with the troll).
December 25, 201212 yr I agree Albus, I'm glad that someone else is looking at the sets in a more practical and realistic fashion. I tried to compare each to the first wave and attempt to figure out minifigs and piece count for each set. Many on here keep trying to create an idealistic representation which we know Lego will not likely do for some time. I also like the fact that you did not include yet more Rohirrim. Yea,but still, why not,it is just 9 minifigures + one more big creature Olog-Hai,Helm's deep has 8 minifigures,so this is just one more minifig + the big one creature,it is still not too much
