That prototype Azog is a sign that he's definitely gonna be in sets next year. LEGO could be replacing Yazneg with Azog in the Wargs set from now on. Would they do that? I'd love that!

I don't know, replacing Yazneg with Azog wouldn't really make sense from a business standpoint (though it would be a lot more accurate movie-wise) since they'd have to change both the box design and the instruction manual. And it'd mightily annoy people who already got the set  There's no point in changing minifigs in old sets rather than simply releasing them in new ones

That's exactly what I'm thinking. It was just wishful thinking that maybe we'd get Azog early. I'd buy another Wargs set if it meant an Azog fig.

We still need proof of this Azog mold in the Wargs set. But it would make sense as an updated rerelease, seeing as Yazneg's not even supposed to be in it! (And it was because LEGO was given early, preliminary source material.

This. They would have to essentially release an entirely new set, that just happens to be somewhat similar to the old. New product numbers, etc. and they would need to pull back any remaining old to avoid confusion. It is far easier to simply put the new figure in a new set. This isn't the same as adjusting the build on the fire helicopter. This would be radically changing the sets major features.

I am highly skeptical of any Azog piece ending up in any AUJ sets. It just doesn't make a lot of sense that such a part would have been available to be accidentally mis sorted into the box at the time the AUJ sets were made.

We'll get this proof. I mean, people on here are from all over the place. It's 3:30 in the afternoon where I am. His dinner could be at any time.

It's funny, I was watching AUJ yesterday ( 8th time I've seen it ), and I could really kinda tell, especially with the chase with Radagast and the Wargs, how they edited around the fact that Yazneg was originally Azog. It was a very late decision to change Azog into the Pale Orc, so it's neat watching Yazneg's early scenes with that in mind.

Well, he's being super late with the picture proof, so for now im gonna take the fact that he called it a protorype, and said it was painted to mean that he made his own azog and is trying to pass it off as a prototype. And how come the same guy who reportedly talked to that lego designer is the same person to get an azog in an old set.

Seems very fishy to me untill proper proof.

I believe the Yazneg bits we see in the chase, was shot after the change of Azog. Ergo anything we see of Yazneg in this movie was shot as Yazneg not azog.

Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this is the right topic, but I recently purchased the Council of Elrond set, and no matter how hard I try I cannot remove Gimli's head from his beard. It's abnormally tight for some reason and won't budge, and I can't think of how to get it off without damaging anything. Does anyone know how to fix this without having to get a replacement?

Take off the beard and the head off at the same time, then you can pop the head off after.

Well, It's only been a couple hours. We can't be impatient quite yet.

I know it's a bit Fishy, but What if it's true?

I hope that this is true but:

Fortunately, it’s been confirmed that Azog will be appearing in the upcoming Fall 2013 LEGO Hobbit sets. However, the upcoming minifigure will be whiter and paler than the SDCC edition.

(I wonder where its been confirmed, this is the first time I have heard of a newer version of azog appearing in an upcoming set) :classic:

It's not been officialy confirmed anywhere, but it doesen't need to be. Cause it's abvious he'll be in sets.

They don't even list a source so they probably just saw SandMirror's post and added it into their article for more page hits.

Yeah, sure. :hmpf:

I had an incident here a few years ago, and everyone didn't believe me. Turns out I was right.

Can't be completely sure.

It's not unheard of. I vaguely remember a Maccus headpiece being sent accidentally as a replacement for anothers' in the PotC topic before the Black Pearl was even released. I'm interested to see this piece too.

An Attack of the Wargs reissue w/ Azog would be something i'd definitely buy.

Also, DOS packaging looks very nice. Much more colorful and appealing than the one for AUJ.

I would not be at all surprised if that was what happened.
