I don't think the set needs upgrading, I think you just need to add more buildings. That said you extention looks nice. But if it was how the set was I'd say it's abit too bland.

I know, It is just beta version...I just try to hold the color scheme and architecture, in a same line as designers did, but I think that the original structure is way to small. In this wave I feel realy big disapointment, because of the size of those sets. Maybe Dol Guldur Battle is kinda ok, but anyway, they focus on interior - courtyard and not on the main scheme like Battle of Helms Deep set...and thats a shame..

Anyway back to mybuilding, I am a new user of LDD and I cannot find the correct collor for the windows or the specific arch bric and so on, and I didnt have a time for interior yet, but I will add a bookshelv, working table, bed, and some other accesories... :)

True! I'm looking forward to it any way because of the figures and the scene from the movie.

Yea, the figures look awesome! I mean we get Azog, Radagast, and the Necromancer all in the same set.

Just thought i'd say it but the Elrond polybag is only £7.99 on amazon uk at the moment! I was under the impression it was not available with the videogame anymore and I've seen eBay prices reach ridiculous levels so this is probably quite a good deal if anyone here wants to jump on it ( and like Gollum bash it over the head with a blunt instrument til it looks dead) It does have delivery on it though. Its £7.20 plus £4 something delivery I think! Just thought I'd put that out there for all to see.

Game.co.uk, still sells the Elrond editions of the game, think the ds version is 12£ wth free delivery in the uk.

Blimey that's a good price!!!! Do they sell it on pc with Elrond? I might get one if that is the case. And they don't just checked! Darn I wish I had a console!

Thank you. I really didn't want to be paying the prices that are on eBay.

I got the wii one just the other day for £12.99 with fig from game.co.uk

But it has lines/cracks on both sides of the torso coming down from each arm, is this just becuase of where it was made and its not as good as a normal fig or did I get a bad one.

Any know anything about the free hobbit fig when you book to see the movie at vue, UK again.

Mine ahs that aswell, its a result of the molding process. You see this happen with this "pearl" colored plastic because it's sligthly translucent., same thing with some of the uruk hai's armor. that is if its just lines. If its real CRACKS then you got a bad one.

I'm pretty sure he's made in China, so the quality would be inferior.

I feel like that sometimes too!

My last ones were a bit unreliable. On topic I'm really looking forward to these new hobbit sets (mostly for the minifigures). it is sad that there has been no erebor of smaug this wave. I suspect that the next wave of sets for there and back again will include him and erebor to end the theme with style probably a very large erebor set I could see coming. This year's choices however do not surprise me one bit. they are following the basic pattern they did last year. One well known place from the film which is lake town (bag end last year). One new location/expanded battle scene from the film (Dol Guldur sets) and finally one action sequence from the film involving new characters (elf set). I do wonder however what it may have been like if Lego had known about it being 3 movies if they had I reckon they'd have put the mirkwood spider one and the barrel one in this year's range and the unexpected journey sets would all be from that movie and they'd probably have 2 other scenes from that movie instead. From this assumption, I would guess as Lego haven't accidentally put There And Back Again sets in this wave that the next wave would have the amount of sets AUJ had, rather than the shortened wave due to the desolation sets last year. I'm planning to get the two desolation sets from last year anyway so I basically will have a full wave of scenes so I'm not fussed.

Found this on brickipedia:

So it looks like this set and 79004 are rereleased with DOS packaging, as some have suspected a while ago

Huh, interesting... I'm going to chock it up to a really good Photoshop until some official word is released though. Wouldn't those two sets have been seen in the catalog that was posted a few pages back if they were going to be re-released?

That's nice all of the DOS sets are on my hit list including this. Its quite nice there is some continuity with the box art for DOS if this is official.

Sorry, but it's clearly a mockup made from the box art of Dol Guldur Ambush. You can still see part of the gray rock thing at the top right under the logo and Beorn's severed legs at the bottom.

That being said, It does look good.

So you can! That's a good spot! I didn't even notice til I was looking for it! To be quite honest its still a DOS set to me even if the box art is still AUJ.

Whoops, I should have taken a closer look at the picture  I guess someone did it just to see what the set would have looked like with DOS packaging...

Good find anyway though. Even though this is fake, I still hope Lego will do something similar to this.

I doubt they will repackage existing sets already warehoused. But if they did a new run of them they probably updated the packaging. At a minimum to not have those last minute "Special Preview Set" labels or whatever they were that they slapped on when the scenes got cut from AUJ.

Oh and on an unrelated note;

Is it just me, or has the Lego Middle Earth team snuck in another cross theme set on us again without us noticing? Last time they gave us the Pirate Ship, which while an obscure scene from the movie, also appealed to Lego Pirate fans. This time I just realized that the Laketown Chase set blends in rather surprisingly well with the Winter Village sets of all things. Take away the swords, Dwarves and Hobbitses and it makes a rather nice Winter Fishing Village.
