Darth Malgus Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Love the pics, they look great. Won't be too happy if the lake town guard and Legolas are polybags. Australial never get them which is a shame, so I'll have to pay over the odds for them, cannot wait for the sets to show up here! Thranduril looks sensational. Quote
kevkipo Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 oh, this sounds great, the only problem in the netherlands is that they almost never have polybags in stores I know man... But i am one of the lucky "Dutchman" :P because i live close to Wijnegem (Antwerpen) And a brand new Official Lego Store landed there :D With a Pick-A-Brick wall and everything! So yeah... Polybags for me! :D Quote
Alfadas Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 I have to drive like 4 hours to go to Antwerpen, so I don't go there. I am waiting for a Lego store to open in a 2 hour drive radius, somewhere in Utrecht or Zwolle would be nice. I want the polybags of Lotr and now the Hobbit, but I can't get them , unless I buy them online for way to high prices. Quote
Kez Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Oh not long now till the UK gets their hands on these great sets, I cant wait, and Im also liking the high res pictures from some members such as GRogall, I could tell that the lake town chase set had a secret wall compartment for bilbo to hide in which is a nice feature, all Im waiting for now are the designer videos for these sets assuming lego decide to make them like they did with last years hobbit wave. TheLegoDr Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 kevkipo - I don't think I've ever seen some of these polybags in LEGO brand stores, only other retailers. Just keep that in mind. Quote

I agree- I've never seen them in UK Lego Brand stores. The only way we get polybags is the odd S@H promotion/Legoland promotion or free with newspapers (writing it like that makes it seem like it's a common occurrence, but it's not, maybe once a year, and pretty much for one day only, and the vast majority of polybags are just full of common figs that I have tons of anyway (Frodo and Gandalf spring to mind)). Mr Breden Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Here in Norway I have only seen them in a Magazine called Donald Duck & co, and on the shelf in store chain called Nille (Thats where I found the Gandalf one) Quote
KristofBD Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Do we already have a picture of the Legolas that will come in a polybag? Or is it the same as the one in the Mirkwood spiders set? Quote
parysm Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 The same as the one in the Mirkwood spiders set, according to line-up characters from Lego Hobbit DoS instruction. (check post no. #6482) Quote
roccom22 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I'm hoping some of the Laketown Guards show up around me. They'll be too expensive to try and buy off BL in any number I'm afraid. Quote
Robianco Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) I think there was an Elf polybag that was going to be used as a giveaway for booking at a Cinema near(ish) me for the opening night of DoS if you booked before a certain date. You could pick the polybag up on the day rather than just waiting for the actual performance time. I didn't book it though as I'd be going on my own and while I don't mind doing that at one of my larger local cinemas I'd have felt a big of a herbert doing it at this one. BrickBob Studpants Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) New pictures of 79014 have been added to the product page: http://thehobbit.lego.com/de-de#79014 Avanaut did it again Edit: Someone at Bricklink has already inventoried 79014 and it seems to include two of the new round 2x2 tiles with hole (prominently featured in the Parisian Restaurant): http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=79014-1 I haven't noticed those on the pics we've seen so far, gotta take another look at them Edited November 19, 2013 by Lego-Freak Quote
dranguish Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Toys-R-Us in the USA not only has the sets available online, they are regular retail price, AND you can put in the code SAVE15 to get 15% off, AND you get free shipping over $49. My wallet is a bit lighter right now! :-) http://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=lego%20hobbit&origkw=lego+hobbit&f=Taxonomy/TRUS/2254197&sr=1 Quote
kevkipo Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 ^ Okay that's a bit weird... Keep in mind that this is a brand new Lego Store! Just opened a month ago! I mean why wouldn't it have Polybags? it's a Lego Store... And maybe not all Lego Store's have them, Mine does... i checked to be sure ;) i saw, Gandalf, Frodo, Elf, and Uruk-Hai Polybags So yeah... But it is a really dumb Lego Store when it comes to release dates... This is what happened yesterday (I Translate it because you guys probably don't speak Dutch) *Me: Do you know the release date of the new The Hobbit sets? (and i said the names and numbers of the sets) *Cassier: What is The Hobbit? *Me: Doh! So. Let's just wait. Quote
Fives Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 So I haven't really given my two cents in a while. It's great to see this sets out and about. Not much new has come about from the new images, just better quality. I have a feeling that I'm gonna get the sets today, so I'll give more of a full opinion on the finished sets tonight or tomorrow. The only criticism I'll give right now is on the Necromancer. While it's nice to get a seriously important, threatening villain in the Middle-Earth theme, the fig himself is unfortunately underwhelming in comparison to, say, Azog. Then again, that's what PJ did, and he seems to know what he's doing. Quote

Usually here in the uk polybags are promo ones. And we've not even seen the Mirkwood Elf poly at all. I wish they sold them in lego stores... Quote
Kez Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Some other nice images of the hobbit dol goldur battle set with the inclusion of another spectacular brother hood workshop stop motion http://www.lordofthebrick.com/2013/11/lego-hobbit-trois-images-et-un-brickfilm/ Quote

My wallet is a bit lighter right now! :-) http://www.toysrus.c...US/2254197&sr=1 Kmart also seems to have them all up online and available for shipping with the exception of Dol Guldur Battle. Target and Amazon have them listed online also, but not yet available to ship (actually sticking to the street date, whudda thunk it!?). i saw, Gandalf, Frodo, Elf, and Uruk-Hai PolybagsSo yeah... But it is a really dumb Lego Store when it comes to release dates... This is what happened yesterday I think your Lego store is a rarity if that is the case. Most Lego stores don't have polybags (except for special promotions when you spend so much or on a certain theme). Polybags are usually given to other retailers as promotions or offered as incentives to buy certain things. That's why I, and many others, are a bit worried about the Laketown Guard polybag. It looks like an excellent set but that's not going to matter much if it's unavailable to most people, or available in extremely limited quantities. Quote

Might have to pick up a few but wait to get the rest once they drop in price on amazon. Quote
zylek Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Awesome, I just ordered them for 15% off and got to use the $20 eGift card they just emailed me from my rewards. I cannot believe TRU is selling them at retail price, it must be a mistake by whomever entered them into the system. Quote
kabel Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 just read that lake town chase is going to be 59 € in Germany. So once again TLG tells us that they hate us Europeans! I was gonna get one, but am considering it again ... Acutally, this whole pricing issue with the licensed themes is why I hate the fleshies so much Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I just went to toyrus, I called first asked if they had them and could they sell, they tell yes to both, so I head to Toyrus with the 15% off coupon, I get to the register with Dol Gulder Battle and Dol Guludur Ambush,"oh, Sorry we can't sell these til December 1st " so I walk away ticked off, wasting time and money driving there.
