TheLegoDr Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I ordered the arts when they had their sale, so I'm sure they will shoot the price up once they are officially released. If love to get an extra guard, but not at that price. I'll try my luck in stores. Granted I never make it to my tru since it is on the other side of town that I never get to. Quote
phanstasm Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) Barnes & Noble has the sets available, and they're not makred up. Only odd thing: they named "Dol Guldur Ambush" as "Lego Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Hobbit 1 79011." The description is right, though. Also, they have a sale for buy "Buy 1 Educational Toy Get 1 50% Off." It starts Thanksgiving day (Nov 28) on the website. There don't seem to be any restrictions, and I do know that they classify Lego as an Educational Toy. Not sure why they'd give such a steep discount on these already, but I'll take it. Hepitos Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 LEGO 79011 - The Hobbit Hinterhalt von Dol Guldur EUR 26,99 who will give so much money for only three figs? overkill ...... Quote
Blazej_Holen Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I dont think MEA is too bad. It might be the first Hobbit set to be purchased from this wave. Thranduil is a really good minifigure. The build uses some nice pieces, especially the brown arches and the shields. The only downside is that out of the four elves, only one provides a generic elf hair piece. Two have hoods, so you cannot actually even distinguish them as elves. Thranduil's uniqueness would not be suitable for army builders. You would actually be better off purchasing Mirkwood Spiders if you wanted elven hair pieces. The price for MEA seems fair. It is comparable to the Uruk Hai army in number of figures and pieces in the build. Presence of nice pieces/bricks in this set doesent makes it "not so bad" , I can also use nice bricks and pieces, but its useles if u create monster like this :) But on a contrary, those two hooded elves ar maybe the best. Elvish hairpiece can be easily bricklinked, but hoods? Dark green hoods are quite unique at least here in middle Europe. There is not so much brickling shops (in Czech) so these hoods are definitely good point of the set. Also like brown warg, maybe he´s to dark..but who cares? Its better to get this collor than nothing :) I expect also a black warg in next wave (or really really dark grey :D) Thranduil can be easily selled, but u have other 5 figs, and thats something... LEGO 79011 - The Hobbit Hinterhalt von Dol Guldur EUR 26,99 who will give so much money for only three figs? overkill ...... In here it costs "only" 540,- CZK, which is 20 euros..and its not so much for licensed set like this. DGB is for 1.520,- CZK so its 56 EU :D Already take my orders with dome small discount, so together (these two sets) it takes less than 75 EU :) Quote
Mr. Cube Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Prices in the Czech Republic: 79011 about 540,- CZK (26 USD / 19,75 EUR) 79012 about 750,- CZK (37,30 USD / 27,43 EUR) 79013 about 1200,- CZK (59,70 USD / 43,90 EUR) 79014 about 1600,- CZK (79,57 USD / 58,52 EUR) Quote

ZCerberus Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Is the lord of the rings 2014 rumors fake? The minifigs sounded great. A. This has nothing to do with the 2013 sets, so put it in the right thread please. B. Certainly fake- though you can go to the FUTURE LotR thread and discuss it if you wish. Again we are getting into world price complaints. Anyone else tired of hearing about it? Just me? Quote
Alfadas Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Again we are getting into world price complaints. Anyone else tired of hearing about it? Just me? Nope. I am going to my local toy shop every day now, but still no sign of the sets. The sets are overpriced there anyway, so I just wait till Sunday and order them from Lego.com. Maybe they have the polybags then, does anyone have pics of them?? Quote

General Magma Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Radagast needs printed bird poop on his hat. That's not supposed to be on his hat as far as I can remember, so if it's on his beard, then they've got it right. Quote

Infernum Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Ha, ha, just went back to my local LEGO store. They had EVERY new set sitting on the shelves (again). Apparently the store's manager outsmarted the distribution system and got the only two palettes of sets sent to the store. Quote

Alcarin Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 With LOTR/Hobbit for me, it's a binary: either give an iconic scene or location and do it right (Isengard, Helm's Deep, Bag End, etc.) or just give me filler and as many figures as possible. LOTR/Hobbit have the greatest on-screen armies in all of film. Exactly this! Either there must be exceptional build (the 3 you mentioned) or they must give great army build figures (uruk-hai army) I have a feeling LEGO missplaced LOTR audience.... Black Gate is a prime example of its failure.... you want us to buy 2x Black Gate (or more) and you give us Aragorn, Gandalf and Mouth in it.... totally contradictory move... Quote
Robianco Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Smyths Toys in the UK are listing the new sets but have them only available in store but are sold out until the 10th December. http://www.smythstoys.com/LEGO-The-Hobbit-!WSCAT1250-subcat.aspx Well there goes any advantage they had... Quote
