Well, as I want to change the hoodies in MEA for hair, this polybag could be very usefull! But as all polybags, I don't think that they are available in my local toy store, or anywhere near :cry_sad: . Not fair.

Hoodies are better...

I bought MEA a couple of days ago (a whole day earlier than I was meant to! ) and I loved the printing on the elves, my only problem is that Tauriel's printing has a lack of the silver decoration. It makes her seem more apart and less important than the others.

I disagree with whoever mentioned the "Tauriel being a better polybag than Legolas". I think they are both equally useless. Orcs are much better.

Overall though it doesn't matter what they are if I can't FIND THEM!!! Raaagh!:wacko::angry:

Your opinion. I think hair looks better. But, an other hairstyle would be nice. I agree that hoodies are nice, but I like hair better.

Elven rangers or Wood elves look like much more better with hood and possibly a cape. Those hairpieces are great and I agree that there should be another hairtype for them, but there are already so many elves with hair...Now we have rangers, and I hope that we will have some knights in future, with helmets and printed plate armor...

Only thinking within the bounds of if it had to be a named character, a Tauriel polybag can be easily used to armybuild female elves. Of course I'd rather have an armored, haired Gundabad Orc polybag.

SPOILER ALERT

There is an image of the movie Smaug on a NZ airplane.

Wondering how it will translate to Lego

First view on my extension of original Hobbit set DGB... Its only 1.0 version, probably I will change some details, anyway it should be main tower or stronghold to the Courtyard we had in 2nd wave of Hobbit... :)

Lookin' good. I honestly would have paid 99.99 for a Dol Guldur Battle that included a tower of that size and detail along with a twilight Witch-King (and why not some twilight Nazgul to boot?).

I'd love more elf ears since I already have hoods. Anyone with a hood can be an elf, it's the ears that make them elves. But $4-$5 for this polybag just for the hair is a bit expensive. I thought I wanted a lot of it too just got the hair, but then I actually thought about it. Plus it seems a lot of mirkwood elves are dark haired, so too many with yellow may make Legolas blend in too much. But I agree, a polybag of a name character not the best for most people since so many people buy the sets anyway to get the named figures.

Assembled MEA and LTC so far this week. MEA has very little value beyond the mini figs and warg, but the figs and warg are great. LTC seems to be the winner of the wave, great figs and great build. Will work as a great addition to any medieval town.

I'm looking forward to building the Dol Goldur sets next in order to see if the build has any value beyond the mini figs. With close to 1,000 pieces certainly there are some redeeming qualities.

The more I think about how guarded the image of smaug has been throughout the first hobbit movie and lead up to the second movie, the more I hope there is a DC2 type set coming soon involving smaug. This hobbit wave seems strangely small compared to the previous three hobbit and LOTR waves. I'm still holding out hope that something more is forthcoming. Either way, a big smaug set is coming by then end of 2014.

At the live premiere Manu bennet (azog) mentioned fighting Gandalf in the film so that probably explains his presence in the Dol Guldur battle. Also benedict's voice of the necromancer someone compared to an "Alan Rickman impression!" A good sign that the necromancer is going to be good. I have a feeling once we've seen the film we will appreciate the necromancer figure more by the sounds of it!

No no, it wasnt compared. Cumberbatch does a Rickman impression quite often.

At the time of this story, most of the Nazgul are in Minas Morgul, rebuilding Sauron's armies and fortifications. There are only two or maybe three Nazgul in Dol Guldur, and the Witch King isn't one of them.

In the movie things are not the same as in the book, Pj says the nazgul Radagast fighs is the witch king.

Legolas poly: "Yay! I shot dat thing in dat hole. Yay!" Dumb, nice pieces though.

I'm seriously considering getting four of the MEAs and using the parts to make a nice looking set of trees and a higher wall section.

I first thought when looking at the pictures that it was bright green leaves, which would've been great since they only come in the hard-to-find 10173 Holiday Train, but I'm leaning more towards olive green now when I've had some more looks. Too bad, could've made up for an otherwise quite lame polybag.

According to book it should be Khamul the Easterling...second of the nine. Not Whitch King of Angmar...Angmar was in Mordor ... And also, later when White council attack Dol Guldur, there were three Nazguls who lead Dol Guldur armies.. Either way, this set needs Twilight nazgul...

Both Angmar and Arnor were located north to the Shire.

I know where Angmar is, I just trying to tell that Whitch King or the first of the nine was probably in Mordor during this storyline
