Floundie Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 That looks cool. Might have to try something like that. Quote
Kez Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Wow, I am normally pretty lucky when it comes to lego sets, inside my lake town chase I received a second set of stickers, this wouldn't be the 1st time this has happened to me but more like my 3rd. Having built all hobbit sets and the council of elrond set I must admit that they are all fantastic, I would recommend every single one, the builds are pretty fun and the figures are fantastic. Quote

Bolg has his mace but it's his bow that has the most dramatic impact on TDOS' plot. Quote

Haha, to me its a pound , but seriously its pretty good, when I mess the stickers up, on goes the other pair And I reckon Bolg will definitely come in the next hobbit wave, I mean isn't he too obscure to be unaccounted for . WEREWOLF Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 does anyone know if LEGO The Hobbit video game will come with an exclusive figure like how LEGO The Lord of the Rings came with Elrond? Quote

Floundie Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 does anyone know if LEGO The Hobbit video game will come with an exclusive figure like how LEGO The Lord of the Rings came with Elrond? Yeah, we should hear about it in January. I hope we get a new version of Bilbo, as silly as that sounds. Either a gray haired version or in his blue Lake-Town robe, that would be cool. Quote
Darth Caedus Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Whatever it is, it won't have a new mold. But it could be a wide variety of options. Let's consider the possibilities, since it has to be a Hobbit character: -Ian Holm Bilbo in red vest: likely but not particularly desirable IMO. -Thrain (not-insane): could reuse one of the existing Dwarven beards. Thror is off the table, he'd need a new beard. -Bolg: only if he's not molded like Azog. Unlikely. -Girion of Dale: This would be a particularly cool one - use Kili's hair. -Casual Thranduil (crownless) -Galadriel (blond version of Arwen's hair would work) -Gundabad Orc General (a brilliant place to release that old Bolg mold, come to think of it) -Lindir -Goblintown Goblin (a new printing, perhaps the one that falls down to Gollum's cave) -(Any Dwarf) with Cobweb effects added onto their print for a 'Mirkwood' version -(Any Dwarf besides Thorin) in Casual wear from the second half of TDOS -Thorin in regal robes (departing Laketown) -Thorin in tan-brown gear (Erebor infiltration) -Alfrid from Laketown (doubt that he would need any new mold) -Braga, Laketown Captain (though if he survives the attack on Laketown he'd be the ideal BO5A battlepack unique) -Bain, son of Bard -either of Bard's daughters Quote
deskp Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 -Thorin in regal robes (departing Laketown) -Braga, Laketown Captain (though if he survives the attack on Laketown he'd be the ideal BO5A battlepack unique) Well the "regal" robes, are not so regal, it's the same clothes Braga have So I'd much rather have him as a minifigure than a variation of Thorin. pretty much the rest of the dwarves+Bilbo got laketown guard clothes. Then whoever wanted could use the components to make their departing Laketown Thorin. Unless we get her in a Set next year, I really hope they take the oppertunity to give us Galadriel. Quote
Floundie Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Whatever it is, it won't have a new mold. Not necessarily. We first got the elven blade with pre-order Elrond. How does that work? Was it designed for the Council of Elrond set? Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 My only hope with a special minifigure is that they do not make that the only opportunity to have that particular person. Bilbo and Elrond were fine, because they did come out in sets, although in different form. I would hate to see something like Galadriel, Sauron, etc. show up only as a part of a video game that some of us may not want. Quote
Faefrost Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Not necessarily. We first got the elven blade with pre-order Elrond. How does that work? Was it designed for the Council of Elrond set? If they have a new part in production for a regular retail theme, it may make its first appearance in an exclusive set. But they will not make a mold just for an exclusive. So the elf sword was made for the Middle Earth themes, Elrond just got it first. But they would not make a unique head mold for him. We can kind of narrow our suspicions regarding the Hobbit game figure. Since it's a video game giveaway or bonus, you can rule out Galadriel and Tauriel. Just the nature of video game marketing. The DK books may choose from a broader range of characters, but for games it's either going to be a clear hero, or a bad guy. No obscure characters. A variant Bilbo, Thorin or a prominent Dwarf, a new Legolas variant. Or a nasty Orc. Quote
Darth Punk Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 My guess is a dwarf. Bilbo was the exclusive for the first movie and legolas has his own poly bag. But in any case I bet it will depend on the third wave. Maybe a variant of an Orc we might get later in a set. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I'm guessing Old Bilbo or Laketown Bilbo. Quote

A variant Bilbo, Thorin or a prominent Dwarf, a new Legolas variant. Or a nasty Orc. Well the LotR video game kind of had an obscure character with Elrond in his Second Age armor. Elrond is already a secondary character and then he was in armor only featured very briefly in the prologue of the film. I think anything could be fair game but agree, a main character variant seems more likely. Video games are generally aimed at boys, how many 8 year olds are clamoring for a Galadriel? As for new molds ya, it seems they will unveil one first in a promo but it won't be exclusive there. Azog is another example, his new mold was first available in the Comic-con exclusive but later made widely available in the DGB set. Quote
Krulis Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) Other posible ideas that weren't mentioned are: -Fimbul (orc hunter) -Narzug (orc hunter) -younger Balin (as seen in flashbacks of H:UJ) -younger Dwalin (as seen in flashbacks of H:UJ) -Thrain (insane) -warrior of Dale Edited December 27, 2013 by Krulis Quote
General Magma Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Other posible ideas that weren't mentioned are: -Fimbul (orc hunter) -Narzug (orc hunter) I was just about to suggest those. With a severe lack of diverse orcs (or named orcs for that matter), those would be great options, though I'm not sure if that would be likely. I still hope we'll get those figures one day, though. I've just found picture of Fimbul from the game trailer. His crest is a new piece so he is less likely to be preorder exclusive. Edited December 27, 2013 by Krulis Quote

Rule out crazy Thrain because he isn't in AUJ or TDOS and this Hobbit game is only based on those two movies. A Warrior of Dale would be cool, since they're basically just a recolor of the Laketown guard. Quote
Almaras22 Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 What about Sauron/Necromancer as he appeared in DoS, rather than the gorilla necromancer we got in the set. An instantly recognisable character who we have little chance of getting in a (hobbit) set as Dol Guldur has already been covered. Quote

MrErikku Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I don't know if it's been mentioned, but I could see it being someone like Thror, or Dain the Ironfoot. I know it's unlikely because it'd require new molds, but it'd be a great place to put Thror. Quote

Also he is nowhere to be seen in the first 2 films so he's not even in the game. Quote

Also, I know this was brought up earlier, but I quick threw together something else that I thought worked for Braga, Braga by mrerikku, on Flickr Someone had mentioned that they didn't like the backwards torso idea because it make him look lesser than the general lake town guards, which I agree with. The shoulders are from Brickforge, but I feel like it helps boosts the whole captain of the guards look/idea. (also, I apologize if this is redundant, just wanted to put in my two cents.) Quote
