ZCerberus Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I apologise in advance if this question has already been asked but I was wondering if anyone knows any information regarding the potential UK release of set 30216 Lake-town Guard? I know, at this moment in time, that it has only been released in the US in Toys R Us stores, but surely this polybag will be released as a promotional item through the Daily Mail newspaper at some point? Any information would be much appreciated as I really don't want to fork out an excessive amount of money for an item that usually comes free, but in this case a few pounds. Maybe Toys R Us stores here in the UK will put them on sale? In the past country specific promotions have largely remained in the country of origin. No Uruk-Hai polly in the US, not Mirkwood Elf in the UK. Has that seemed to be the trend for others who have paid attention? Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 ^That has been my experience as well. The only comment I can include here is the back of the Lake-Town Guard polybag states it was distributed in USA. I'd imagine similar wording has been on the other releases. Not that LEGO wouldn't do another package for another country since they do already with their boxes, it just seems silly to change a few words on a plastic polybag, Quote

danklaiber Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Thanks for the information guys! I thought that might be the case. I'm fortunate enough to have acquired all the polybags that have so far been released, but this is purely down to me buying them off eBay. Looks like I'll have to do the same with 30216. I do hope they release another exclusive minifigure as a pre-order bonus for the upcoming LEGO The Hobbit video game. Quote
WEREWOLF Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 im also waiting to find out what the preorder exclusive for LEGO The Hobbit video game. and go back a few pages to read some interesting topics people posted Quote
Deathleech Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) Uruk-Hai was released in the United States at Five Below stores. Yup, it was first released at Lego Discovery Centers though. After it had been out several months it seemed the left over shipments made their way to Five Below stores here in the US. Not exactly the most available polybag ever, at least in terms of US release.. Edited January 4, 2014 by Deathleech Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I don't think I've ever seen the Mirkwood Elf poly in the UK. I saw plenty of the Gandalf poly though. The preceding ones, (Uruk-hai and Frodo) were both available in the UK. From that, it would appear that the distribution is a bit more random, but I'm willing to bet that the Laketown Guard poly doesn't turn up in the UK. Quote
dgherko Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Has anyone in the US found the Legolas poly bag sets? Quote
just2good Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Has anyone in the US found the Legolas poly bag sets? I haven't seen anyone in the whole world have it yet. Quote
Infernum Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Has anyone in the US found the Legolas poly bag sets? Oh yeah, I forgot about that... maybe it'll be a LEGO store incentive offer...? Quote
Fives Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 So I was at my local LEGO store yesterday, and it delighted me to see a kid, maybe 8 or 9 years old, buying Wizard Battle and MEA. While it means little in the grand scheme of things, it gives me hope that these sets are popular with younger kids. I always kinda fear that LEGO tries to hard to please the AFOLS with these sets, but what I saw kinda debunked that thought. It's a shame that the poly bags aren't available from LEGO stores. They'd sell like hot cakes. I would've easily bought 10 Laketown guards. Quote
Blazej_Holen Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Wizard battle and MEA are aimed for kids I suppose... :) Quote
Almaras22 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I haven't seen anyone in the whole world have it yet. A couple have cropped up on eBay - ridiculously over priced of course. Quote
Deathleech Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 A couple have cropped up on eBay - ridiculously over priced of course. Where? I don't see any at all? Quote
Almaras22 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Where? I don't see any at all? I can't quote from my phone but search 'Lego 30215' and refine the search to worldwide, it comes up for me. It's in the Netherlands and is €19.99 Quote
Darth Punk Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I can't quote from my phone but search 'Lego 30215' and refine the search to worldwide, it comes up for me. It's in the Netherlands and is €19.99 They have sold one and have three left. They also have the new Spider-Man poly. Well I think it's new. Quote
J bij de W Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Just did the seach and it is a person on ebay, not a shop. No idea were he gets it, as I have not seen any polybags here in the Netherlands Quote
Floundie Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I don't know if anyone heard about this, but Toysnbricks reports some Target stores in Canada have the Mirkwood Elf poly for $1.05, among other sets up to 90% off their regular price. I've never seen any Hobbit polybags in stores though, bad luck for me. Quote

Deathleech Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 That was pretty random. It looks like Lego got the Brotherhood Workshop to do it though, the same guys who do all the other great Middle-Earth stop motion stuff. Quote

Cammo Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I just built the Dol Guldur sets and put them together in a cabinet. It really does look better IRL than in the pictures. Hopefully another section can be added with Galadriel. BTW, are you guys sure that the exclusive set on February 17th is the Sea Cow? Or could it be a Star Wars or Smaug set instead? Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 BTW, are you guys sure that the exclusive set on February 17th is the Sea Cow? Or could it be a Star Wars or Smaug set instead? I'm pretty sure it's the Sea Cow, the rumored Sandcrawler probably gets released in May, which is the usual release date for the first Star Wars D2C each year, just in time for the "May the 4th" promotion (the second one is usually released in July). I think it's interesting how we will have already gotten four D2C sets by mid-February I'm not sure, but I think there's quite likely another exclusive set besides the SW ones to be released this Summer Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) I thought the Simpsons House was the D2C set in February? Edited January 9, 2014 by Dr.Cogg Quote
